I guarantee you the action is better in Tunica or Biloxi than Cherokee. I can say that having played MANY times in both of those places.

But you are welcome to nit it up with the rednecks in Cherokee if you like...

Complaining about tipping shows how you hate live and should likely stick to your microstakes online game

You don't know what you're talking about, on average the tables in Cherokee have more action for the limits being played.

and who you callin' a nit?

I have to agree that the 1/2 tables have more action in Cherokee most of the time. Of course, weekdays have more regs anywhere.

I haven't been up there in months. Did they ever or are they going to start having MTTs?

Just heard that MTT's are starting in Feb. Saturdays at 10am, $120 buyin, and Tuesday at 6pm for $60. I havent confirmed for myself through the poker room staff, but this is from a reliable regular.

Yes, confirmed from the manager. Tues. $60. Sign-ups 4 pm-5:45 pm with tournament beginning at 6 pm. Up to 50 players.

Sat. $120 Sign-ups 8 am to 9:45 am with tournament starting at 10 am. Up to 50 players. These are every Tues. and Sat. in Feb., but hopefully will continue. Now that they got these started I think they will begin to have more.

I'd assume $120 means $100+$20? That's pretty steep rake, considering no dealers (but at least no dealer add-on).

Wow, I've lived here my whole life and had no idea there was a real casino in NC lol. Went to my parents for Xmas up in CT and put in over 80 hrs at Mohegan Sun. It was the first time I'd played live poker and had a blast. Ran like absolute crap and ended up maybe $80 or so plus $150 or so in comps. Oh well, can't wait to play some more live though.

My wife and I are vacationing in Gatlinburg the week of March 21 and are considering heading over to Cherokee for the Tuesday tournament. If anybody plays it between now and then, we'd appreciate a report.

Don't need real tables, was up there a couple of weeks ago. Between my wife and I we cleared a grand in profit from eight hours of sitting at 1-2 table. Couldn't do that on a "real table", not enough hands per hour.

It's not the hands per hour, it was the terrible players, or you got really lucky.

I cant believe all the work they are doing on the place with the new tower and casino floor and to still have all these half ass mickey mouse rules is just absurd.

They obviously get plenty of business with the electronic tables, why go through the hassle of jumping through hoops to set up live tables, hire dealers, and waste the money they spent on the electronic tables. The players are awful, you get in twice as many hands per hour as you would with real cards, and there is no tipping required. Anyone who thinks this sucks because they want to feel real cards is an idiot. I play to make money, not to look at pieces of paper on a table.
