Thanks, Czar. I'll be traveling through NC labor day weekend, and plan to hit the Cherokee for a nice long session on Monday or Tuesday to kill some time. Anyone ever pulled an all-nighter there on a weeknight? Is there usually at least one table going all night?

I've never been there when there hasn't been at least one table going, but I've never been there at 4am on a weekday either. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to put some serious hours in if you wish tho.

I played this past Wed till about 4 am. Game was starting to break when I left. Getting short handed...It probably died soon after I left.

And any word on tier credits for 1/2? 30/hr? I'll be stopping in either tomorrow or Monday.

Points are 27 based on 40/hr.

There's a rumor going around some spots in Atlanta right now that Cherokee has a side room now with live dealers and chips. Any of the locals up that way has validation one way or the other. It smells like a groundless rumor, but I figure it's worth asking here.

no live room last week.....unless they change the law in nc, there will be no live dealers

Figured it was a baseless rumor, but figured I'd check. And as for the laws changing in NC, given how they had to sneak the lottery into the state, I don't see it happening anytime soon unfortunately.

Not a completely baseless rumor, though things have gotten extremely twisted:

Live games only happen around the casino. As for the bigger question...

They are suppose to be having live cards around mid January for blackjack, baccarat, and other table games. For poker though, I nor any of the other players or poker hosts know. We are suppose to be having the poker room moved upstairs in March. It is going to be next to the new "Asian gaming area" that is suppose to be opening in a couple months. I have heard all sorts of different numbers as far as the number of tables we will have, but the hosts seem to think it is going to be from 24 to 27.

Given that it is up for speculation as to whether live cards are coming to cherokee(for poker)... I think not. Giving the extremely nitty nature of the casino when it comes to taking chances, I do not see them giving up something that is 100% going to work and cheap. To be honest, I do not believe any of the regulars are wanting to change to live cards and I am 100% convinced pokerpro tables are optimal for profit in a live 1/2 game. I would explain myself further but it's 5pm and i got to get the **** out of here.... The only reason I am on the fence about wanting live cards is that I am wanting to see bigger games and only live cards will bring them.

Peace out bitches

I am about an hour away and if they did get live cards I would be regular there. I can play 10 tables online and get the same experience I have gotten from PokerPro tables. Plus, if they ever want to get WSOP Circuit events, successful tournament series, etc....live cards will need to be involved.

I think it would be a great casino for tournaments because of its proximity to ATL, Tennessee and the many, many tourists. I go to Horseshoe Southern Indiana and I have never gone and not ran into players from Tennessee are near Cherokee.

The question, of course, is whether or not they even want to court that portion of the market. Living in the Atlanta area, I'd love to see it happen, but I agree that if they don't get live cards/chips, that is much less likely to happen.

I would also be more willing to make the 2-3 hour drive up there on a regular basis if there were live cards/chips for the games. While I don't mind the poker pro tables, they're not exactly my favorite arena for playing poker.

I agree, but why wouldn't the want 200-500 people staying at or around their casino for tournament series? That would clearly be a poor business decision on their part.

I prefer to 2-3 hrs more and go to casino with live cards. I.E. Horseshoe So. Indiana or Dog track in WV.

It's possible they can have the best of both worlds giving the travelling roadshow nature of the Circuit events, as I believe they bring in their own tables/chips/etc for the events, which would remove the necessity of the casino itself having the equipment. The only downside is how much cash game action they would generate when the people coming in for the circuit realize they have to use the pokerpro tables.

As for driving, I unfortunately don't have that option. It's either 2.5 hrs to Cherokee or 6+ hrs to either Florida or Mississippi if I want casino poker rather than the home/underground games here in town or bar poker.

They use the casino's chips, tables, etc.
