So just double confirmed that there will not be new tables upstairs and the new chairs that were floating around are NOT the chairs that will be in the new room

Yes. I dined there Tuesday night for dinner and breakfast today, both free.
Dinner was a huge disappointment. The only new things I saw was a pizza by the slice area(none looked appetizing) and a chocolate fountain. I had read that there would be a made to order pasta station but I found no evidence of this. Most food was exactly the same.
Breakfast was better. They now offer several meats at the carving station including pork and kielbasa.
Besides the food, another issue is that most of the people working behind the counters don’t speak English. There are little monitors that list the food offered at each station but I tried asking four diff employees what the ingredients were in the salad and all any of them could say was “salmon salad”

I was @ a1/2 table when it hit. The winning table was less than boisterous when it hit. At least until the payouts.

It was hit at 2/4 Limit. Half of the table probably hadn’t woken up yet until the payout came.

How does the free entry promotion work? I have an email on it, but it didn't make sense.

Idk, I didn’t receive that email but last year they offered the free buffet to a lot of poker players on Tuesdays. You would just pick up the ticket at a rewards desk

Anyone notice if buffet items have been labeled "gluten free" or not ? Wifey is GF and Foxwoods said they were planning on labeling buffet foods but never did.

Wondering if they got around to it yet ?

"Let's close down the cash games for 2 days and give our players an excuse to check out the brand new Encore room that opened earlier this week!"

Brilliant. They should do everything possible to complete the move before the 23rd.

The menu items in each section are listed on a small monitor. I wasn’t looking specifically for that but I did notice 1 item that was labeled Gluten Free

I wonder how many players who have spent countless hours in the dungeon will never see this new room, based solely on the ridiculous timing.

Makes ZERO SENSE... They have plenty of tables that they can move up ahead of time and have no downtime at all. I swear the people that do project work for them are just dumb. It could be a completely seamless transition. They could move 30 tables up easy and not have any downtime. Then move the other tables up during other hours, or honestly during the day. Its not a big deal. Wednesday & Thursday aren't promotion days so you won't get more than 30 games going. STUPID!

I began playing Hold’em When the “dungeon” first opened (although, it was mostly Stud that was being played then). Last time there was an overnighter two weeks ago. Got lucky playing 1/2 for a positive trip.

However, I have only about 52 points left on my Gold card & am two hours away. Visited Vegas 3 or 4 weeks ago, and was very impressed with the Encore poker room, even in a losing cause playing 1/3. I am 1/2 hour away from Boston Encore, & will definitely check it out. Picked up my Encore Red Card in Vegas.

So, all that being said, it looks like goodbye to Foxwoods and my 52 points, but then again, old habits die hard & I am sure to miss the comped rooms at Fox Tower.

Not even that many. They have been running low to high teens with rare exceptions (maybe reach 20 early afternoon for a couple hours) on Wed-Thurs on non-promo and with Encore opening that week you'll have fewer. I do wonder how much behind the scenes work is truly involved as Mohegan also needed a temporary location for a few days when they relocated their room. There is more work needed to be done than simply moving a few tables as you have all of the electrical work including cameras, etc to sync for functionality.

However with so few games running throughout these two days I can't imagine them being unable to operate without a hiatus of more than say 2am-10am on that Wednesday with all hands on deck if they truly wanted to do.

June will be the last Monday Madness with the current payout structure.

So, since the room will be a little smaller ( 65 tables ? ) soon, I assume they will be lowering the payoffs for Monday Madness ?

Isnt that the biggest day of the month for them ?

Yes, payouts will be lower. I didn’t get an exact # but they said it would considerably lower.
One of the reasons given is so “less people will come”. Because, you know, that’s what you want in a poker room, less clientele.

Instead of wanting full spread with 65 games with big lists, and having people in the building degening away at other games

I seriously don’t understand the thought process of those who run that room.

When I owned my own business, I always used to think to myself about how to get less customers, because I hate money.

Is this room going to be for daily tournaments too? Otherwise 60+ still seems too high. Other than Monday Madness it never gets that many going. Granted it's a non promotion day but there's only 15 tables running this afternoon. The new room will seem as equally dead.

A few things I was told today....

- The Festival slots area is CLOSED for renovations...so smokers will have to go elsewhere on breaks or go visit the Asian Gaming area

- The Cage wall in Rainmaker will come down next week so those who had Safe Deposit boxes will be able to get them !
