If you have a reservation at fox tower today I would try to change it to another hotel. The elevators have been broken for over 24 hours. Right now 3 are totally down with the other three malfunctioning, doing various random crazy things

One way to keep players from defecting to Encore.

Can someone confirm what the betting cap is in the limit games? 4 bets or 5 bets?

Would expect the problem to be resolved by then.

Actually was looking for an excuse to transfer to Cedar. My sister is the one that prefers Fox Tower. The elevator is a good excuse for the move.

With three or more players it is four bets (a bet and three raises).

Plus EV move. Fox Tower is quite a hike to the Poker Room. Well played, Sir!

I am going to Foxwoods this weekend. Have yet to go to the new poker room (or Encore) as I've been in Vegas for a month. Hoping the action will be decent seeing as there is a 200k 'guarantee' this weekend.

Curious if there will be overlay if they don't hit the guarantee or if they would not honor it. I know in the fine print they reserve the right to modify their tournaments for any reason at any time. I think it would be a beary bad move 🐻 to not honor the guarantee if that scenario comes up.

Maybe they hit it and this is all moot, but Encore just opening + holiday weekend + wsop, makes me have my doubts. Either way I'll be there this weekend, probably for the last time.

Pretty sure there won’t be an overlay.

Got August room offers. Monday to Thursday which is unfortunate since my usual itinerary involves Sunday-Monday. If I get Sundays back I was thinking of heading up in September.

Not even Two Trees? Clown show. I usually go to Foxwoods Sunday-Tuesday. Stayed at TT a couple of weeks ago and it seemed dead. Closing the restaurant in the mornings in favor of the new buffet may be sending folks over early but even the lot seemed empty compared to prior summers. Checking it out this Sunday.

After no room offers in June & July, I am back to TT two nights Sun-Th.

I know the cage situation is a fiasco, but is there any update on the boxes? Do people still use them downstairs or have they been moved?

Silly question but to buy-in for a tournament is it cash only?or credit cards?

Played at the new poker room the last couple of days and have some observations:
1. Highly discussed already that the cashier‘s cage is unconveniently outside the poker room. I was discussing it with another poker player while standing in the line when his wife, with 2 racks of chips, dropped them and most landed in foot traffic while some rolled to a gaming table.
2. The room is a warehouse. A few half walls or partitions to break it up would’ve gone a long way.
3. The chairs are more comfortable but do not slide easily and are already pulling up piles of the carpet.
4. The new lighting is much better and more consistent throughout.
5. Ceiling is nice and high
6. The temperature is consistent
7. The old smaller TVs are difficult to see unless you’re sitting underneath them. The new ones are great.

2. Have to disagree - I really like the open feel.
6. A bit cold in certain areas
7. Yea not a fan of the small TVs

Overall a nice change, minus the cage being gone of course.

I really like the open feel as well. I went down there on Sunday for my first session since January and had a good experience. The dealers were great, no misdeals in a 6 hour session. Friendly floor people. Free parking without needing a voucher or validation. Good trip, and I like the new room.

And they’re doing nothing to increase the high hand payout

Don't like hearing this as that was where I thought the extra rake would go. Not sure how long RR has been running but I wonder how much less traffic they're getting to not be able to afford this anymore? They'll have to do something; a new promo, increase the BBJ faster, or change their "We give back 100% of promo dollars dropped" on Bravo.

Amidst all of this discussion about the cage, TVs, high ceilings, etc., there is one feature of the new room that I haven't seen mentioned: it is segregated from the rest of the casino by glass doors. This is surely my favorite feature of the new room, since it means that you can play all day and not come away smelling of smoke. (The old subterranean room didn't allow smoking, but it would drift down from the gaming area above anyway -- so that after a session of any moderate length, one's clothes and body would reek.)
