Forgot to tell you guys, I noticed last Saturday that dealers at Greektown were now carrying around their tip boxes. Guess they're keeping their own tips. Speed of dealing seemed about the same as before, but demeanor seemed friendlier.

For sure. Not sure what Omaha action they have down there now. I haven't been in months but maybe Networth can comment.

Completely agree with that. Last time I was there, service was nearly non-existent. So I decided to go upstairs and get my own beer. I nearly pissed myself when I heard the total for two 16oz plastic cups of Budweiser..... $5 and change EACH!!!! Whaaaaaat!?!? That is just absurd. Next time I go there, I will be bringing my flask if I want to drink.

one of main reasons i do not like playing at charities is because of them closing at 2 am, i like to start around 11 pm and go untill 4-5. so i usually stick to downtown now, unless i have no work that day and can start early.

Omaha has run the last couple Fridays at triple comp, it's some sort of special they have. Some regs have tried to get it going on Saturdays but it just hasn't happened really. That's at least what I have seen.

That last hour or so can be so juicy though!! Guys trying to get unstuck ect, just my experiences. Glgl......also, some of the most brutally nitty games I've ever played have been downtown.

Amen, on the nitty play, especially at MCC. I know if I have to be the action in the game something has gone terribly wrong.

I'm thinking if we want more rooms with more fish, we need to start supporting smaller rooms from time to time. Specifically, we should plan some sessions at Hamlin Pub after they open back up. No reason we can't do it "Rounder's Style."

I'm seeing some of the regulars from Snookers' at other rooms but where did all the fish go? If Snookers' doesn't open back up, I think we losing money out of the poker economy that may never drive an extra 20 minutes to another room. All the more reason to help get smaller rooms the business to pull in the local fish.

Also, I think that the fact that Snookers ALWAYS had games going was a huge reason that fish went up there. Would you want to drive a half hour our more to play poker and not be 100% sure that you will be able to sit down and play?

That is the problem with small rooms. They are hit or miss. Not worth the risk for a lot of people who work 40+ hours a week and just want to play cards for an hour or two.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for support all the rooms. I just think that if they can not supply a game everytime they are open, it turns people away.
Good ole Snookers. I remember when you could go to one room and find all the fish....then the charities opened. You're looking at this wrong. If you want to find the fish easier stop supporting the charities and they'll close. Then everyone will end up downtown. Really it's inevitable

I guess all the charities will never shut down, but otter(Oscar) is right about this.

I didn't notice this. I'll make sure to ask next time, would be nice to know that the few competent dealers will be rewarded.

The charities are some of the easiest games you'll find. The casinos downtown can't support the SE MI poker base if the charities were to go away. All you'll find downtown are regs.

What makes you think Maverick's is run bad. I go there at least twice a month. Looks like it is run as well as any room in the state. I never see any problems there. Pit boss is friendly, dealers are friendly and run the tables good. Rules are fair and consistence. Probably the nicest looking and cleanest room in the state. What more can you ask from a charity poker room. Please let me know what kind of problem you had there and i will talk to the pit boss about it.

A rebuy that starts you with T500 (or T600 for early reg) in chips, 5/10 blinds at the start and T2500 for the add on and 30 min blinds... The structure might not be too bad but will anyone know how to play it when the world is use to starting with T25k+??

10k for first tho, also the only thing I got out of the Electric Stick employee about Saturday was that starting stack is 35k, but I'm guessing that's probably wrong. He was very helpful though.
