Wow, the $500 NL is sad right now. Yesterday 9pm and no tables. Granted it's was a Sunday but still zero $500 NL tables?

The 500 got eaten alive by the 300 game as much of the 500 player pool moved down to that game and very few 600 players moved down to 500.

not sure how accurate this is but Commerce makes $500,000 each month on each of their $40NL game 4 dollar rake

at peak there are like 21 tables

not even close.

4 x 27 hands/hr(probably generous at 40nl since they see a flop every hand) x 24 hours/day x 30 days/month = $77,760 per month per table.

Evidences that 500nl only benefits relatively skilled low stakes poker players and that LA poker players as a whole like to gamble?

This made me LOL. Curious how much they bring-in in relation to those baccarat tables.

At 3 pm today there was one $500NL table. By 9pm there was zero $500NL tables. Yeah, the $500NL is confirmed busto.

So how many 300-500 and nl600 tables are going more than usual which game seems to pick up the missing nl500 action

I don't know about the 300-500 since I didn't go to that side but the 600nl
had at least 3 tables going while the 500nl had none.

thats what im looking for in the next few days as well. yeah the 5/10 game is dying. i played in it last night and yeah it died out by 9pm and the 600 had 5 games going and the 300-500 had atleast 4 that i saw. a few things im hoping for are that since its thankgiving not that many rec players made it back to the felt yet, hoping that the LAPC will bring a lot of action, and that maybe enough of the regs will complain so they will move it back to the other side

alright. do far it seems like the commerce always spreads the 5/10 and theres usually at least 1 game that has been going but its not like the juicy games that weve read about in the past

Not really. HG gets 5/10 but I haven't been there in awhile. The few times I've been there was 1 game and the list to get in it was really long(over an hour wait easy).

5/10 has been deteriorating to the near nothing it's become the past few days. It's better on the weekends but no game by 9pm is crazy, I've never even seen that before until this week and now it's happened 2 days in a row.

Hey guys, as this is the most active LA thread I'll ask here:

I'm in town for a few days, where are the "best/toughest" street basketball games that go down in LA? I am a skinny white kid that plays redic tough defense and is basically the kind of person that I imagine would get his ass kicked in a truely ghetto game, so I'm looking for the best games where basically I have fairly close to 0 chance of physical threat to my person. Thanks

Also, I'll just throw it out there, I have little USDs but I'm pretty good at poker so if anyone is interested in a short term high(er) stakes stake at the commerce or one of the casinos here please pm me for a no pressure/more info discussion.

But my main question is pertaining to the best bball games in LA.
Thanks,
Matt

for the lapc or you're planning to move to LA? the 5/10 games have been almost non existent. you can check poker bravo to confirm this. the day time games at 5/10 have been really really bad when they actually run.

Two games running tonight. Think people are reading into holiday traffic a little too much. Still disagree with their timing on the move. They should have waited until the new year.

No im moving out there...im in Afghanistan now, so I cant check bravo live yet, but ill be stateside in less than two week and be in LA late December. I'll do what I got to do if the game is not running, maybe it does run during the LAPC and keeps some steam going after that, 2010 and 2011 I lived in Vegas and I did notice that the slowest time of year for games was thanksgiving to christmas...now i understand LA is a local market not a tourist one, but people do spend less during the holidays that along with the movement of the game could be the reasons for the utter decline...once again maybe the game gets a shot in the arm from the LAPC and continues somewhat better state than it is in now afterwards
