Different guys, I didn't know their names. And that is correct, you don't have to deal with Ash or Serge and the banana republic that they run.
the play has prob gotten better cause theres prob a mix of better higher limit players that are playing in the game (+ rec players fear of playing any game in the top section) where they would never make the walk of shame over to the bottom section in the past. i expect this to even out in a few months but until then ya the 5-10 should be a tougher game than before (and prob tougher overall once it balances).

k good i dont wanna ever have to see those guys again in my life.

We've probably played together in the past. The 5/10 game is hit or miss in my eyes. Some very decent regs in the game, but I saw one of them go on uuber tilt the other week and dust off a few buyins within minutes. I've certainly seen softer 5/10 games in the past, but it's certainly not the rockfest that is the 5/10 game at Hustler that's for sure!

I'm just worried that some of the casual players get pushed away and settle for the 5/5 game instead.

I need some suggestions on where to live that is close to commerce. After talking with several people who work there most have told me they live in downey/montebello. Are these my best two options? Any other suggestions? I would love to find a month to month/short term place; are there any places like this around or does anyone has any suggestions? I would move into the crown plaza at commerce if I could but they dont have a monthly rate so I am looking for the closest possible thing to that. I wish there was a condo/highrise right next door. Any advise at all is appreciated thanks.

If you want to live "close" to Commerce. I'd suggest the Long Beach area.

Same reason why people like staying at rio during the wsop. Convenience, not dealing with traffic, being able to be in bed 2 minutes after cashing out, and most of all putting in more hours because of all these things.

Played 5/10 last night. 4 tables. Games were great. Seems like there was less of those rocks who buyin short and just play for food and hope to hit the nuts. I was quite pleased.

A lot of people talked about how the game is getting more and more traction with the new location compared to the other weeks.

WiFi is also available in that area, which is nice.

The signup for the games is pinched all the way back in the corner under the TV wall, which is a little bizarre but whatever.

Many more details are needed to answer. Price range? How far is too far? Those are starters.

I've played about 100 hours in my life at the commerce.the majority was in 5/10 so I have more experience with ash and serge.I think they are all beyond useless and incompetent but ash is by far the biggest begger for tips to a point where its sickening.he would push an old lady off a cliff if you gave him five bucks and asked him to.

Lol. I heard since the $500 NL got moved to the hotel side that one night Ash came on his break to say "hi" to the players. I'm sure Ash couldn't have been doing it for tips since he doesn't even work on that side.

Lol if the commerce closed he couldn't get a job flipping burgers
I loved asking him for table changes just so I can not give him a tip.
A few times I've given random floormen tips for no reason whatsoever other than they were standing next to ash.its sickening watching him act overly excited for a regular when they tell him that they had a good session.one time he sat me in a 5/10 game when I had a rack of yellow in my hand.I then pulled out ten white chips for an even 1500 and he asked me if I wanted him to change my chips for me.i mean unless you can change them into krugerands **** off.I should have told him to change the ten whites for two racks of yellow and when he came back told him to change the original rack of yellow for five whites.the best part about not tipping him is he stops following you the table when your name is called and he stops putting his hands on your shoulders like a creep.of course I haven't been there in a year so I'm sure next time I'm there he will forget who I am and go back to his usual routine.I think I would actually pay him to never touch me again.when he holds the door for the person behind him in a store he probably has his hand out.

Anyone who could change $1500 in chips into even one Krugerrand these days deserves a decent tip.

Changing subjects, can anyone fill me in on how to use the player's bank?

Ash stands behind you when you are playing a big pot. If you win he'd would put his hand on your shoulder and say "good job buddy, good job."

Just wondering, is the Commerce 5/10 (I'm talking about the 1.5K buyin not the shortstacked game) still significantly softer than say the average 5/10 in Vegas?

Thanks

Yea I've seen that too
If he ever pulls that crap when I lose a big pot to someone I'm calling him every name in the book and really don't care if I get banned from there since I don't live in la.

Anywhere between -$1 mirrion and +$1 mirrion.

Either go to the cage and request a withdrawal or ask the chip runner to do it, and you can request chips or cash. Couldn't be simpler. Not really any different than making a withdrawal at your bank.

Can't make a withdrawal until one makes a deposit, right?

Correct. You have to have a balance from a deposit to make a withdrawl. The deposits and withdrawls are updated in real time. Unlike a checking account where it's possible to overwithdrawl and owe the bank money from insuffient funds.

I felt the 5/10 games at Commerce always played tougher than the 5/10 games in Vegas*. (More locals, short stackers, more rocks who play just for the food, more cheats, etc.)

*I've played significant hours in Vegas at 5/10 but all those hours were during WSOP periods. (much larger player pool during that period)

So perhaps it is on-par during the rest of the year. Wouldn't really know.

Not sure but the 5/10 games have been pretty bad the past couple months compared to basically the rest of 2012.
