Matt,
There is a real void in Blackhawk of mddle limit games, with 4-8 and 30-60 being the only choices I am aware of. I believe there is a reasonable base of players that would play 6-12, 8-16, or 15-30, if a room could get that going. I see where the Isle is advertising for prop players. Any thoughts about using these players to try and get one of those games on a regular basis?

Let's start a 8/16 during the WPT series and see if it sticks.

We had this conversation two months ago. Everyone said they wanted a middle limit game and no one showed up. I would love to get some middle limit hold em going. Let's get it going. I've already said that I would feed everyone if we get it going. How about Saturday nights at 6pm? What say you, 2+2ers? C'mon, first 9 players in the Saturday $8-$16 game at 6pm get food. Let's roll. See you tomorrow at 6pm.

Best,
Matt

The gates had a 10/20 LHE table run for at least a while tonight. When I showed up around midnight it was 3 handed and it broke around 1 ish. I'd guess it was going a little stronger earlier in the night but am not certain.

Hi,

How long did the tourney run with 18? Did you pay 3?

Yes, it paid three spots and I think it ran until about 7pm. It probably could have ended a little sooner, but they played it all the way out and there was some real chip-trading back and forth when it got down to three-handed.

Best,
Matt

UFC Fights will be shown in the Orchid Garden restaurant, just down the hallway from the poker room.

Best,

I started a list. Let's see it go.

How's the view of the tv in the restaurant? I'm sitting right in front of UFC 133 at Ameristar.

I wouldn't play 1 second at the Gates. The floor people are rude and incompetent. The dealers are horrible and they are all on the take in their tournaments. It is too bad most of the players don't see that. There are better options around town.

Yah I played in their tournament today and the dealers made lots of mistakes. However, they do have the biggest saturday tournament. (so miss internet poker)

Did you play in the noon tourney? Must have been a nice prize pool, looked like 12 tables of 11 going.

I showed up for the noon Isle tourney but no one signed up, too bad, it was a lot of fun the week before.

Ended up playing one of the "no-juice" tourneys at the Lodge. Never played there before, it was horrible blind structure of course, but the rebuy element did make it more fun. Probably would play again just for the fishiness, and it allows for incredibly loose aggressive play early on, usually not my style.

Did the 8/16 list ever get longer than 1 name?

Had 2 or 3 on the list...you know, if we get it started 3 or 4 handed with no rake, I bet it would fill up. The problem that I see is that one person puts their name on the list and then leaves and says "call me" and then another calls in from home and says "call me" and so on. We just need to get 3 or 4 in the room to get it going and then I think it would fill up. Put your name on the list and then stick around for a drink and relax for a few.

What happened last night is that other people asked about that game and the list of 3 people. When they were told that those three were not in the room and wanted to be called when the game was ready, they decided not to be on the list. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's going to take a small amount of personal time sacrificed to get these new limit games going. I was sitting there waiting for everyone with 9 dinner comps in my hand...no one stuck around. Let's try again next Saturday at 6pm.

Best,
Matt

There were 121 players. We finally chopped when we got to the final 5. 2K each with a little more for 1 and 2.

How many players were there at the Lodge?

We typically have 4 or 5 tables for $100 buy-in on Saturdays. Yesterday we had a big 80 player freeroll (Tournament of Champions) so we had a single table for the noon. Next week we'll have 4 or 5 like normal.
