Yeah unfortunately I've seen some articles today rejecting who's statement. Not thah they were a beacon of truthfulness to begin with, but it did seem promising lol

They've retracted, more or less. A key point of contention is that by their definition pre-symptomatic people do not count as asymptomatic (people who are sick but not feeling any symptoms YET can and do still spread the disease to many people before they start to develop their symptoms). When most people hear asymptomatic, they just think of people who are not showing any symptoms right now. So, temperature checks at the door aren't really doing much, outside of giving everyone a false sense of security.

To post something more on topic:

I would table game and feel safe under the conditions in that article posted (whether I'd enjoy doing so is another issue), but personally there's no way I'm sitting down at a packed poker table with grubby chips and cards being pushed around right now. My antibody test came back negative, if it was positive I guess I might take my chances.

Its one of the Texas card rooms. Employees are also not really following the mask rule at all, some just wear it around their necks...

I can now book a room at Ocean on the 29th, and CET casinos on July 1st. What's weird is I can still book a room at Bally's. I guess it's still under CET control until the sale closes?

I would love to go down even if we can't play poker, if the restaurants and bars in the casinos will be open. I have my $100 diamond celebration at CET, plus a bunch of Rewards Credits, and a few hundred in comp dollars at the Borgata. I wonder what the likelihood of the at least some of them being open if the casino itself is open.

Looking to see if there's any info on re-opening for AC casinos beyond "We hope for July 4th", seeing as we're only about 2 weeks away from that date. Does anyone have any actual updates (not, I heard from a friend, rumors, etc)?

I would hope by the end of next week there is at least something, since I would imagine reopening depends on the stats and we'll be a lot closer to July 4th, at this point.

Murphy said today phase 3 might start "within weeks" and he could have more info about plans as early as later this week. I'm not sure if that translates to allowing casinos to reopen, or if that would be later. But reopening by July 4 seems less likely now that it's close to two weeks away. Who knows how prepared the casinos are to jump when they have a date (and if they'll do it).

I think this link sums up everything you need to know about when the casinos will open up.

Well, Governor Murphy just announced that NJ casinos may open at 25% capacity on July 2nd. No word on whether any will be offering poker yet.

If the state allows poker and casinos are willing to offer it, I imagine Borgata would be mobbed with people since PA is closed. Other casinos with poker will get business they have never seen before. 25% capacity does not sound too inviting for a 4th of July weekend though. You will have to get to Borgata early in the morning I imagine if you want to be guaranteed to play.

TAB already posted on Facebook, no poker

We probably won’t see poker in AC until Murphy says casinos can be at 75% or plus capacity. Just doesn’t make sense business wise for the casinos to allow patrons into the building for poker which doesn’t generate nearly as much as table games and slots. Hopefully it will be sooner than later.

Heard a rumor that Tropicana may have poker when they re-open. Unconfirmed, of course. Strange, since they are the smallest of all the AC rooms.

Can you guys recommend any towns with some decent hotels in northern NJ? I'm looking for a place to stay for a few days to play some of these WSOP online events. Thanks

I'd have to think that at the Wild Wild West, they are best positioned to take advantage of this. The space is huge and they've got so many tables there. You could make a real mark going forward, especially if Borgata doesn't reopen their room immediately.

No particular recommendations, but just wanted to mention that WSOP.com does not let you register if someone else is playing from the same tournament from the same IP address.

I ran into that problem while trying to play their tournaments from both Harrahs AC and Borgata on their Wifi. And of course playing for hours on end on your Mobile Hotspot gets annoying.

So, I would call the hotels before and make sure they have good Wifi and also pick one of the smaller properties not too close to AC.

If you want to go to the beach in the morning and then play tourneys at night, I highly recommend Long Branch although it is pricey this time of the year.

You can get cheap hotels around the Meadowlands sports complex. I used to get a room for Giants games and got great deals in name hotels. Also there was the bonus of being just a short trip into Manhattan.

Well it looks like Caesars Entertainment finally announced that all their properties in AC will be opening on July 3rd, but of course there's no mention of poker.

Does anyone have any info on when poker may return to AC? Borgata is not opening it right away and neither is Tropicana or Golden Nugget.

I had a good laugh checking Bravo poker app. Harrah's showing 2 names on a list for 2-6 and 2-5 NL. Someone forget to clear the queue before closing in March? Or maybe it's wishful thinking for this weekend?

Where did you hear the news of the Nugget and the Trop not opening poker? Not saying you're wrong, just wondering, because I haven't heard anyone else but the Borgata saying no poker when they reopen.

I'm gonna be there M-F on the week of the 6th, and I'm hoping at least one will be open, but we shall see.

It's specifically stated on the FAQ section of both of their websites that poker will NOT be available
