Has the 5-10 spread limit been running? Thinking of driving up Friday if there's likely to be a game. I've helped start it the past few times I've been there this summer and can do that again, so it is an opportunity for free money for regulars.

The late levels aren't the best so near the end it seems to be more of a shove fest but thats not usually till final two tables compared to daily tournaments which is a constant shove fest...

I wish they would get some tournament advise from Savage (WPT TD) on restructuring both the Big Stack & Az State but right now its better than any other tournaments in Az so hard to complain.
so basically it starts out like the sunday million then morphs into a turbo/180 sit n go at the end?

do they cap the $100 bounty award?

How long have they been having the AC problem? I was there the week the new room opened last year and I don't remember it being particularly warm, even though the room was busy, and I usually run hot.
Has it gotten any better now that the temporarily larger jackpot crowds are gone?

Re: Lack of AC
Nope, it's still bad. They have industrial fans (think rapid-dry type) in there now, so if you're somewhere near one of those it's bearable. If not, be prepared to sweat your way through your session.

The new room never got as cold as the tents. If I wasn't in the habit of always bringing my jacket to the room, I am pretty sure I could have gotten by the last year+ without one in the new room, as long as I don't put my leg over the floor vent things.

So how long will it be before there's a confrontation between poker players and the drunken idiots at blackjack that scream every time they win a hand?

I hear far more roaring from the poker tables than I do from the silly blackjack tables. Just wear headphones? I dunno.

And why would they cap bounties, Charlie? How would that even work? I have never played the bounty tourney tho, so wat do I know...

No they don't cap it... you gather as many bounty's as you can from start to finish of the tournament. When you are knocked out you can only lose 1 bounty max.

Do you understand the concept of "bounties" at all?

You paid the 100 when you register. It's a 100+100+20 or whatever the rake is. 100 to prize pool and 100 for your bounty.

I've heard guys braggin of making like 15 bounties or something ridic... tourney sounds like a gold mine compared to min cashing the 340 deep stack and making 270 profit. LOL. I'll have to give it a go next time they run it (despite my self-imposed ban on poker I'm so friggin bored these days without online I HAVE to go play LOL).

k
Think that's how I understood it but I thought he was implying u buy-in for $225, knock out 3 people, then get KO and only get to keep $200. I.E. You lose $100 bounty from your buy-in plus one of the $100 bounties u claimed from another player

I think I found new games to kill time in waiting for my main games.

put my name on the plo list this morning... will be back in a few hours to give it a shot. I asked the dealer about it and he said it hasn't gone yet, but would be the same as the old spread limit omaha high.. basically you can open raise to $100 preflop if you want. Sounds awesome to me.

As far as i know its spread with the same limits as any of the Holdem spread games, 2/3-300 3/5-500, i havent heard anything about the $100 preflop limit.
Could be a new change since yesterday though.

How long did that game go the last time it was spread? A couple/few weeks? I think that thinking about who it is that has managed to get it on the board again would be in order.

I think the last time it was spread was at the 5-150 level, i don't recall it lasting more than a week at that.
The issue is the limited number of players who are seriously interested in a high Omaha game at that level( even O8)there just isn't enough of a backup list to keep the game going for any length of time. Initially the game may stay full for a few hours, but then once the short wait list( if any) is depleted any player leaving results in a steady deterioration of the game, interest wains and the games dies.
Another issue is that its not the type a game that is going to draw "casual" players from other games in the room.

I've never heard them ever run a list for Omaha High on any board. I was told they ran a 08 10-150 a few years ago for a few weeks.

That was my point: Somebody is hoping that it will and for a reason.

It literally just started(being added it to the board) last Wednesday or Thursday.

There has been some discussion about changing up the lineup of available games( ive been an advocate for the sake of change) and i know PLO has been considered, the move to offer spread limit Omaha High is a compromise as PLO narrows the player field even more.

3/300 started tonight, i think they also got a 5/500 Omaha game going too, not sure but they were calling for it.

btw, got pulled over on my way out by the locals for a burnt out license plate light - it appears the SR cops are looking to use any minor equipment violation to pull you over, so be careful.

The Salt River PD has been pulling many ppl over (including me) for minor things for a while now but have not been writing tickets for the small stuff, afaik. Hope that doesn't change.
