Are they back to taking $2 for the jackpot now?

Also, no news on changes/improvements to the comp system? It's still 20 cents/hr + a $5 meal voucher every 8 hrs?

Which makes the comps accrue at a total of 82.5 cents an hr.

Does the 8 hrs have to be continuous or it's just you get a ticket for every 8 hrs of play no matter how long you take to get that 8 hrs?

I was told 8 hours total. Which made me wish I'd redeemed a ticket in the previous two months.

100 points an hour (equivalent of 20 cents, as 500 points = $1).

It is supposed to be for every 8th hour of cumulative play = $5 voucher.

However the way the software is written (poorly), it will only auto print a ticket for you (and give you a pop-up window saying "you have a voucher", when you've "continued" or "checked-out") after 8 hours of continuous play.

If you have more than 8 hours of cumulative play, just go visit the front desk and/or a floor manager, and they will swipe your card, check your points, and give you a voucher. Most of them are very nice about it.

Once the voucher is given to you, it is valid for only 5 days.
It is only valid for food in the poker room. (You can't use it at the Black Fig).
You cannot "stack" the vouchers, you may only use one at a time.
Vouchers are only good for food and non alcoholic drinks (ie Rockstar).
Vouchers cannot be used for alcoholic drinks (ie a pint of beer).

LOL can't believe enough people haven't complained about this to get them to change it. Better than nothing I guess but what a hassle.

To bump an old topic in this and other Arizona threads...

RE: Vegas drives...

The new Hoover Dam bypass now wonderfully cuts 20-30 minutes off the drive in, but the log-jam of people heading to Lake Mead still slows traffic to a crawl back out on Sunday. 5-10 minutes saved on the way out, tops. Boulder to the Lake turnoff needs another lane badly.

All but the 15 miles north of Wickenburg either have frequent passing lanes or are completely two-lane now as well. The drive is 10+ minutes shorter overall than it was only 2-3 years ago as a result if you're a "brisk" driver.

Thank you for pointing that out. I was wondering why we encountered no traffic on our drive to Vegas in Feb. but on the way back we got stuck in traffic.

I just assumed it was because we came in on a Thursday night and left on a Sunday afternoon. But what you said makes sense as well.

To repeat, they wouldn't have that problem if they'd made the bridge a bit longer. Whatever town that is on the LV side has more or less said that it's the Feds problem to solve.

Oh, another thing. I know I complain a ton on here.

The casino is out of boxes, and the floor says there are a ton of people on the waiting list. Wouldn't it seem smart to get some more boxes?

It's more the 2-mile or so stretch from the traffic light in Boulder City to the boat turn-off at the base of the hill beforeyou climb back up toward the bypass bridge.

The locals try to avoid this by taking the "scenic route" and re-joining the traffic about a half a mile before it from a local street, but that only adds to the slowness for people waiting. The backup goes all the way back to the Dairy Queen before the traffic light if you're leaving around noon (after checkout and lunch).

Man on NPR suggested more bridge to go up to that turnoff.

Until then, leave around 9pm Sunday night, detour to Laughlin for redbull vodkas, all-nighter thru work on Monday.

Just my two cents, but it seems the Summer time slow down is already kicking in.

thinking about headnig out to CAZ for the first time, anything in particular I should be aware of? When is traffic the best?

Planning on playing lowest stake NLHE game for my first trip. My live poker experience is very limited to a few hours breaking even at Luxor over a year ago.

You should be able to find the lowest 'NL' game anytime you go. It may break for a few hours in the middle of the night, but from 8am through midnight I am pretty sure you can find at least one game.

thanks! , when's the best time to find the fishies? (not that I'm a shark, I'm just more comfortable making stupid plays around other droolers )

Took me approximately 4hrs 45mins to drive back from Vegas to Tempe yesterday. I was going about 75-85mph most of the way and only stopped once for 10 mins.

I think it took about 5hrs 15mins to drive to Vegas because of the slowdowns around lake mead and slightly more/worse construction on the way there.

After 5pm from my experience. But if you can't spot the sucker within 30 minutes of sitting down... get a table change!

I could tell the snowbirds were leaving last weekend when I got dealt two aces in one poker hand. Also my pocket pairs matched the flop for the first time since NYD.

I've officially given up on getting any comps out of CAZ. Yesterday I played a short 6 hour session (tired and had to get back to Tucson). I did remember to swipe out, but the system would not check me out. I was told that if you play more than 4 hours and don't "reswipe" the system kicks you out and there's no record of your play. Of course no one said anything about this when I originally checked in to sign up for a game. Desk person was very nice but said "nothing I can do". Oh well did not need to be eating that fatty food anyway.

This thread being on page 6 is mildly awesome. I heard some of the funniest table banter of my life last night. God bless senior citizens.

i had a guy call the clock on himself on Thursday night, it was pretty funny.

3 ways preflop it went from 5 to 15 to 40 to $140 ( there was a call re-eaise in there) he was in for $40 and contemplating the additional $100.00,( the cap in the spread game) he tanked for a least a couple minutes. He wasn't showboating or BSing around, just truly was trying to work out how he got in that spot.
Anyway( he was in 9 seat) finally says to me, " i know i know" i need time called, yes i said, you need to make a decision...
"no really he said, i need you to call the clock"...
Ok
i pressed for floor who arrived shortly and i explained...the clock has been called on the player in the 9 seat( i didn't explain he had called it on himself), but before the floor responded the player released his hand.

The lowest "NL" game at CAZ is 3-300 spread limit. If you want a lower game than that, Wild Horse Pass offers 2-100 spread limit.

Fish is a relative term. After 5p on weekdays, and all weekend, the games are full of people looking to gambooooool.
