Lock buys Cake? Lock buys Cake?

05-12-2012 , 05:09 PM
I can very much see the Merge people just telling all the Lock rakeback players, "Sorry, outta luck. But the VIP systems at all of our skins are really great. Enjoy! Have a nice day. Should kept your rakeback at a skin that wasn't going to bail on us."

That would be more consistent with how Merge seems to do things sometimes

I would start doing what needs to be done if your not going to follow LOCK to the CAKE network.
05-12-2012 , 05:13 PM
But all BS aside I can say this, Lock listen's to there players and what they think. I can say is that you guys will be blown away with the new software and will make the table and layout as player friendly it can get. And this is from VP of Operations.

Are you a shill for Lock or cake or something?
05-12-2012 , 05:47 PM
What happens to the 33% rakeback I have on my intertops account (a cake skin), if anything?
And then what about my current VIP level on Lock?

Hey guys I really want your feedback on the Cake software.

#1. When was the last time you used the Cake software, they have gone through several upgrades including an important performance based upgrade a month or two ago.

#2. What changes do you want to see in the software?

We have already seen people say they hate the software because you cant multi-table, so firstly want to make sure we are all talking about the most recent version of the software and then want to find out what you what changed.

We actually designed most of the Merge software update which should finally go live soon, so while we will launch with a Lock Skinned version of the existing Cake software we are already working on integrating our all the things we loved from our work on the Merge update as well as a few things we wanted which we couldn't get built in the Merge system.

I've played on Intertops as of a few months ago and I was not a fan of their client. This was version 2 I believe. Version 1 was ok and ran a little smoother but they were in the process of fazing that one out. Version 2 was clunky and very laggy in my experience. Not sure if it's the same as other skins on the network but I was really turned off by it. Mulitabling was very hard as it would lag and freeze up. My computer is only a few years old but it should be able to run a freakin' poker client.

Just make it run smooth and functional, especially for multitabling. We don't need a bunch of gimmicks or anything.

make it so stacking tables functions properly and so I can multi-table again!

have good HU Cash and SNG structures..

that's all i really need =/

cake 2.0 is incredibly, terribly, horrific. just do urself a favor and do away with that completely. 1.0 is far and away better but still has the occasional bug whereas 2.0 isn't even playable even on super computers.

Our cashier is completely independent so the move will make no difference, it will be the same before and after the move.

We are constantly looking to improve our processing, but the move to the new network wont be the cause for improvements.

Hopefully Merge can implement their new software quickly. Sounds like Cake's software is pretty universally hated (I don't think I've ever played on their current software).
05-12-2012 , 07:28 PM
I played on Cake a long time ago and don't remember the software, but I am very excited about this move. I think having the folks at Lock run things (instead of merge) will be a very good thing for the players. They seem to run great promos and the RB will be great. Watch out merge!

I've sent everyones feedback off so we can try to get a better picture of where it stands now. From my recent discussions with the Cake CEO the performance of the software had been greatly increased. Need to find out if the people that are hating on it have been playing on the same software the he is saying is improved.

just looked at the sticky in the internet forum called where can us players play or something along those lines and it in the op it says cakes software gets 3 *** as merge gets 2 maybe the update they had made a big difference? also shane the rake in limit games is horrrrrrrrrrible on merge i hope cake is better

Please bring more life to the table, If so please bring accolades along to the new software, Players like showing status and some don't but as long as it is there it can be used and not used. Avatars is a must and should be different than other skins..... I also like the chat aniamation that MERGE has is there any way LOCK has there own? I think my brother spoke with Liezl about all of this but did not mention the chat stuff can you please pass this on Shane.
05-12-2012 , 08:40 PM
Play it to see for yourself. Version 2 is horrendous. It's practically unplayable at times. If this is practically the same thing that we will see on the new lock, I won't be playing there.
05-12-2012 , 08:55 PM
How about using a HUD? I heard that you cannot use a HUD on Cake. I haven't upgraded to Holdem Manager 2 yet, so i don't know what's available there yet, but Holdem Manager 1 doesn't even have an option for it.
05-12-2012 , 09:03 PM
Do you have a MAC version?
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer a version of our software specifically designed for the MAC.
05-12-2012 , 09:06 PM
I hope it is for all VIP , or maybe after WHITE, but mostly all players following the new LOCK movement should be able to use it right away. I also remember you telling me Shane about the new MERGE software. So if you guys designed it mostly and all that good stuff why dont you do something about it, or is it already done?
05-12-2012 , 09:08 PM
Please do NOT have a BBJ on the new site. I ****ing hate Bad Beat Jackpots.

You might need to update your HEM1

I don't remember the whole thing and didn't really follow it, but Cake started allowing HUD's several months ago (a year?) as I recall.

Why you hate BBJ, just a way to win ton of money, and you do not have to play it. I tell you what some people kids amaze me..............
05-12-2012 , 09:21 PM
flush - Most knowledgeable people here agree that BBJ is terrible for the games for a number of reasons.
