I think it's stupid too but I think most ppl are not angling when they ask for it. I've def had ppl ask to trade blinds and then show premium hands.

I feel like I'm getting angled here, but would I seem like a douche declining? It's their fault for posting, right? They'd prolly just grim me out of spite.

I guess I'm just asking how the "Trade blinds?" etiquette works. Seems like a ******ed practice to me.
It's obv very dumb unless it's as an agreement to do it everytime you wind up hu when games break down, but if it's someone you sat at an hu table with intending to play then this is obv not the case, but i guess most of the people proposing this are the same people who think grimming is fine if you folded your button, which is a disturbingly large %% of people even at highstakes
03-06-2011 , 06:18 PM
Ye I don't think they are trying to angle, they are just misguided in their attempts to start tables.

edit: I assume we are talking about hu at 6max tables?
03-06-2011 , 07:00 PM
i think its dumb. not worth the time to work anything out, just play two hands and forget about it
03-06-2011 , 07:04 PM
I assumed ZJ was talking about HU tables on sites that make you autopost...

Mostly talking about Stars HU tables where they don't make you autopost.

I'm going to anticipate where this conversation is going and skip a step.

Stars lobby, options -> Advanced Multi-Table Options -> Ring games: Ask to post blinds when dealing starts.

You want to check that box IMO (and probably uncheck the box right below it)

are you kidding me? questions 2-3 are beyond ridiculous. question one is only sort of ridiculous.

I sent this email to Stars support ~ 10 minutes ago.

Quote:
Hello. I currently have 41,651 chips in the Sunday Million 5th Anniversary. I am just letting you know that I am going to win this tournament. I hope this email will expedite the shipping of my Lamborghini Gallardo.

You should have my address on file, so please take this time to get the paperwork in motion. I assume the car is currently in Europe, and as I'm sure you know, March is one of the best driving months. Naturally I would appreciate it if I could receive the car ASAP to enjoy the best driving season.

Anyway, just letting you guys know to make the process easier for you.

-Looking forward to driving my Lamborghini Gallardo
-Justin Bonomo
8 minutes later I got this response:

Quote:
Hello Justin,

Thank you for letting us know. We actually meant to write to you, that this
little Italian beauty has you name written all over it - but we thought we
might hold off with that, until you have actually won the tourney. Until
then, and only if this does not distract you too much from the tourney,
check this out:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hovbx6rvBaA

Be that as it may, we can assure you, that the car will be delivered to the
winner without any delay.

Regards,

I can't imagine not winning this tourney. It's all but locked up at this point.

Don't post unless you're gonna play.

If you accidentally post, you should each PLAY a button, not trade buttons.

When people ask to trade buttons, they mean fold no matter what they have (despite having already seen their cards).

He can't really be Portugese, he knows about all of the American secrets, like greed, and Hawaii.

its a pretty surprising story, most 16-18 year olds have their heads very well grounded in reality so its astonishing that he didnt withdraw after hitting some unknown magic number instead of trying to win more money that he undoubtedly felt entitled to after winning for so long. btw i could care less if the story is real or not but i thought point 2 was pretty comical.

xblink isn't cheating. he is a 20 year old lil asian kid. he is just really funky and really lucky and pretty degenerate. i can prob vouch that he isn't cheating. i have a few friends who know him decently well.

Well given the situation he was in with one working parent while living in a nearly bankrupt country.. 20k/50k/100k makes a huge difference. I would assume someone in his situation would stop at some point, no?

Anyways I'm not sure why anyone would post that story on NVG unless they were trying to pull a fast one on somebody(Betfair perhaps?)

Best post of the discussion by far

At this point tbh it's just silly to think he is still cheating. And I lost money to him. That guy just plays differently and is a on a huge heater.

Its sorta reasonable to doubt the story, but none of the reasons you mention make any sense.
