Nice month! I too had a record month for the year and it couldn't have came at a better time. I was actually at HSI this past friday in the omaha game and I think I heard them call a ray for 2/5nl? I assume that was you but didn't see anyone walking toward the game? GL

@mike-the-mad Im at 44% right now.

@plochrisc congrats to u on a great month! I love seeing other 2+2ers do great! Keep up the hard work!
Btw, I was there Friday on table 1 seat 9 for about 7 hrs. I hated seeing one of the wild ones leave my game for your PLO game. They call him "gasoline Gary" and he is gd for the game. Hopefully u crushed.
SideNote: I used to b a "seat 4,5,6 guy"; and a few months ago switched to a "seat 1 & 9 guy". I like the 9 seat best these days. Not really sure why I am saying this, just tidbit information to throw out.

@ninedollars thanks man.
I was bored at the house today so I took sm mini rubber bands that my 3yr old uses for her hair and put them all over my beard. Got a nice dread effect from it.
I got the weird looks I was going for when my family arrived home.
Booked a beard win!

Another fun thing (to annoy the women of the house) to do with the beard is see how many toothpicks you can put in it!

Last year I had 160ish and my now wife (still married me) wouldn't tell me where she had more toothpicks. Both her and the oldest pretended to not be amused, but the youngest had a good time counting with me!

Dear 2+2 diary,

Follow up Health Report:

I'm writing this while playing some 1/2 here @hsi. If any big hands pop up during this post I'll let u know.

So I had my follow up doctors appt this morning, and the blood work came back fine. I was in the normal range for the thyroid test. Honestly, I was kind of hoping it was sm sort of thyroid issue. Only because if it's not a thyroid problem, then it has to b something else causing rapid heart...mayb even something worse (blockage, enlarged heart, etc). So I was a little bummed my test didn't show I had a thyroid issue.
**hand interruption. 1/2nl 6 limps, I make $15 in bb w Ah10h and get 2 callers. Flop QhJh8x. I check in hopes to check/raise this big draw. Sigh...checked around. Yahtzee 9h ott, I lead half pot, player on left calls, and shortie goes all in (but not enough to open it back up for a raise)...we both call. River is Kx, I lead 3/5 pot and player on my left folds. I show nuts and scoop. Up $65 so far.

Back to health update....
Anyways my doctor took my blood pressure and heart rate which both were normal today. *Not sure if it was because I took a propranolol an hour before the appt.
I explained to him that the medication has helped a little, but still noticing some rapid heart beat at times (even at rest/sleeping). The doc prescribed me another type of medication which is a time release capsule. Doc says this shd mellow me out pretty evenly throughout the day. He also said if I still experience a high heart rate w this new medication, then I can still take a single pill of propranolol.
Doctor seems to think the heart is gd, and diagnosed me w panic disorder.
See him again in 3 months.
I guess I'll take that for now.

**as I wrote the last sentence they splashed our table w $50 (splash promo). $10 all in straddle from seat 2, one call before I make it $40 w 88 from sb. 3 players call my $40, and 1 player all in pre playing for main. Flop ($225 pot) is 245 rainbow. I lead out $100, and get one caller (he has $100 behind). Heads up on the turn ($445) of J, I bet another $100,m which puts him all in $100, he calls. River is 7.
88>34 (not sure why he called $40 pre????)>K7 ($10 all in straddle player).
...currently up $300ish.

SideNote: after starting 0-3, I made the last spot (8th) of Fant Ftball playoffs w 6-7 record.
I play the #1 seed who won BOTH best league record and most Fant pts for $750 EACH.
$900 for playoff champ and $600 for runner up. Leggo

Thanks

.
This just reminded me of something that happened to me a week or two ago at HSI at a $1/$2 table against a player who isn't a regular, but someone I have seen there before. I forget the PF, flop and turn action but I was HU on the river and I bet $30 and got called. I was in seat 7 and he was in seat 2 so he was as far away from me a possible.

So once I'm called I pick up my cards throw them in an upward direction (in what I think looks like a giving up motion if anything) so they would land face up right in front of me and I say "ace high" (keep in mind there is no flush possible). He mucks his cards and I take down the pot.

Should I have offered to chop the pot with him since someone else said he had mid pair and he obviously wasn't calling me with a worse hand and was somehow confused by what was going on?

The game is 2/5/10 w an occasional $1k straddle. He may bust me, but I'm gonna get it in gd preflop.
Can't talk, gotta get back to the game.

Words can't even describe the craziness that went down tonight!!
Also, words can't even describe the type of gamble "Gambling Bill" has!

G.Bill is one of a kind, and the ole gangster DOES NOT care about the money! He fires $1k chips into the pot like a broken boomerang. U know, the ones that don't come back.
Gambling Bill can have any hand at any time...He plays the 10 4 off like pocket Aces, and bet ur ass he will make it $1k to go w the 10 4. Hell, many times "Gambling Bill" doesn't even have to look at his cards, the gangster will put u ALL-IN blind. Yep, I said "BLIND!" Gambling Bill just doesn't gv a flying ****. He is famous for the $1k blind raises!!! I have never seen anything like it!!!
If he loses $5k, no worries, he will pull out 5 $1k chips from his pocket and continue to do his thing. It ain't nuttin but a thang for Mr. Gambling Bill.

Gambling Bill is my hero all for the wrong reasons.

Seat 2 won around $7k off Gambling Bill in one hour.

*U know a guy has gamble when players from the "main game" were contemplating sitting out for 2 hours so they cd play at Gambling Bill's "must move" game. (2hr policy before u cd enter back in).

*U know u have gamble when 7 players move seats before "Gambling Bill" enters the "main game"! It was flipping musical chairs when they called Bill for the main game. Everyone wanted to b on his right because of his huge straddles. I.e. If it gets folded around to the last player preflop on a $1k straddle usually K hi was worth calling your whole stack.
I was cracking up at everyone moving seats. . It was hillarious!! Seat 1 was open when they called Gambling Bill for the main game, so seat 2 went to seat 1 so he cd b on his right. That made seat 2 now open for Gambling Bill, but then seat 3 went to 2, making seat 3 the open seat for Bill. Gambling bill is walking towards the main game and then 4 went to 3, then 5 went to seat 4, so on and so on. I like to call this "The Gambling Bill Domino Effect!" I think I played it right and waited right before Gambling Bill was going to sit down then made the quick switch to his right when he was 2 feet from his chair.

The 2/5/10 or 2/5/1k was stupidly insane tonight!!! I can say w confidence that no where on planet earth was a 2/5nl game playing bigger!

Today:
-$27 playing 1/2nl on 2hrs 56mins
+$722 playing 2/5/10+ on 7hrs 48mins

I've got a guy who plays in my local card room that is similar to G.Bill. I refer to him as a 'confirmed whale'. He has the preflop all in blind move. He has the ability to jam river with bottom pair or no pair even. He rebuys for 500, 1000, 2000, or whatever he feels multiple times a night. He has no regard for money. He changes the game dynamic so much that I don't consider it poker anymore. It is basically blackjack and you are the dealer. Last time we played I called his all in with preflop for 2k with JTsuited, T8suited, and 88. The way I see it is I will rarely have the opportunity to play with a guy who will put it all in blind for almost 700 big blinds against me so I might as well take advantage of it and get in there with him. I think he appreciates the action bc most players nit it up with him till they have AK+ QQ+.

ATTENTION:
T-minus 24hrs before the biggest poker tournament Southern Indiana Horseshoe has ever had! Not in terms of entries, or prize pool; but in terms of what’s on the line...bragging rights.

The tourney may only have 60 players in the field, but some serious swagger rights are on the line. All the regular high stake cash players will be playing in this tourney, and it’s been the talk of the cash games for weeks. Actually, the trash talking for this tournament has been going on for nearly 3 months!

The ring leader of all the shenanigans is named “Hollywood”. This guy is a real showman, and honestly a great dude w a big heart for others. I truly respect it, and he does his “Hollywood” thing without any concern of what others think. People either like it, or hate it. I love it!

Back story: Hollywood actually banned himself a year ago, and is now reinstated and ready to come strong. He comes back in style w a tournament in his name! Tomorrow will be his 1st day back, and it will be entertaining to say the least.

This guy is a real hoot, and a self marketing powerhouse genius. The tourney is hosted by “Hollywood” and another poker fellow named “Rocketman”. Hollywood has a $1k bounty on his head, so I’m looking for a gd table draw w him at my table.

Hollywood is a big time tipper as well, and known to start drama fights amongst the cocktail waitresses. They ALL want his service! I even heard of cocktail waitresses coming from the 4th floor and sneaking down to the first floor to try to steal his business. Dealers love him too.

Some of the self marketing Hollywood has done for this tourney:
1) A radio Ad that is hysterical. Sorry can’t find the link.
2) A youtube video that is classic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYaoTWVv5XI
3) And Facebook promotion that has stirred up the pot with the rest of the poker players. U can check out some of the back n forth banter from his many posts. I wd say he has around 10 posts on his FB page pertaining to this tournament. One post had 50+ comments of pure trash talking. All in gd fun of course. Feel free to scroll through some of his posts.
https://www.facebook.com/david.quigg...f=ts&ref=br_tf
4) Hollywood has also put together a team for this tournament… aka “Team Hollywood”. He is staking 4 players, and he may even have “Team Hollywood” shirts for them. He also has a half dozen $500 last longer bets.

I this dude.

I’m sure his entrance tomorrow will be right up there with a Phil Hellmuth like entrance. He might ride in on a white horse, or strut in w fur coat and an entourage of fine women. Who knows???
All I know is I wouldn’t miss this tourney for nothing.

$1k buy in w $100 addon, and $1k rebuys. $25K guaranteed to 1st place. Let’s get it.

I just want to shave “shaggy”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ITM PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@twspoker1 thanks. Gonna need it. I desperately want to end the year w a bang, and this tourney gives me that opportunity. Nonetheless, it shd b entertaining either way.

$110 satty starts at 4p, so I may gv that a shot. Only becasue it gives me an extra opportunity to shave.

I prob won't b tweeting updates on this one, but I will post on here (during a break) if I make it deep.

This is gonna b fun either way...but out of all the tourneys I played this year this one will sting the most when I bust. Therefore, I can't let that happen!

I'm want this so very bad!

I was hoping to see an update already from ray. When I saw him he was in a satellite with a good sized stack with 3 (of 10) players left. Hoping he took it down then parlayed that into a $27k day.

I heard some talk about making this into a $1k monthly or quarterly tourney. I'd probably play it every now and then. There is a bad taste left in my mouth after playing less than 10 hands in the tourney.
