Last night's 5/10 game at bellagio (12am-5am) was insane. I don't even think I can do it justice with a description, but I'll try. For starters, almost every hand was 5/10/20, and at least once an orbit it was double straddled to 5/10/20/40. Within my first couple orbits this guy sits down to my right, buys in for 1500 and proceeds to donk it off his first hand.
He opened AsQx in mp and got 4-5 callers. Flop Q64ssx. V bets close to pot and gets called by the button, all else fold. Turn is 3s. V check raises the button and there's like 900 in the pot going to the river, ~1100 effective. River is a 3 (Q6433sssxx). V bets around 350, button shoves and V goes into the tank and starts telling his girlfriend the river killed his action blah blah blah. The way he's talking I thought he had a flush. He finally calls and shows his AsQx and V tables 63o for the scoop. V talks to his girlfriend for 5 minutes about the hand. Some memorable lines: "He could've had AQ too, he plays it the same way", "He could've just had the flush" (?) This V ended up down around 4-5k and called it quits within an hour.
Soon after V1 sat down V2 shows up and buys in for ~$700. His first hand UTG opens to 30 and he asks if he's allowed to raise. The dealer says yes and explains the rules a little. V2 makes it 50. Obviously it took everything in my power not to jizz myself right then, but it was a premature celebration as V2 busted his $700 within one orbit and slunk off into the night. Wish I remembered the hand, but with all the ridiculousness that went on later it doesn't stand out
V3, whale of whales, shows up sometime around 1 am. He spewed a couple buyins before heading off to blackjack, but an hour later he returned with 8k in yellows. This guy was beyond hammered and tried to buy in for all 8k. They didn't let him - but he kept it all on the table and we all just agreed it was fine and he was always playing for 1500 - unless he won a pot in which case it would be 1500 + the pot (that didn't happen much though). He was ordering drinks like crazy, and he asked me to get him one each time also so he could get two drinks at a time. At one point he had a drink in front of him and 3 full ones next to him on the table as he ordered 2 more
For the most part he was just playing way too many hands and folding waaaaay too much, but he also did some pretty funny stuff you don't see everyday. He made it 100 to go UTG with K10o and got a caller from the SB. Flop came down KT2ssx and he shipped 1400 into 200. AJss called and lost. Next hand whale opens to 500, I look down at AQo UTG+2 and ship it for 1500, whale tank folds A9s. lemme get some action one time lol
At one point mr. whale makes a speech about how Todd Brunson told him that he never bluffs, because he doesn't need to. And now mr. whale's whole life is changed and now he never bluffs because Mr. Brunson is right, he doesn't need to bluff to win. Predictably, 5 hands later mr. whale runs a massive bluff and gets snapped down in hilarious fashion.
Whale: no ****ing idea
(some loose/passive regish player): A3hh
Whale open CO to 40, SB
call. (90)
Flop: J42hxx. Check, whale bet 60, call. (210)
Turn: 8x. Check, whale bet 250, call. (710)
River: 2. Check, whale bet 700, snap call. whale looks dumbfounded before quickly dozing off again
Will probably think of some more hands/stories later. I couldn't run good at the Bellagio to save my life, but the games were incredible. Can't wait to go back.
