Glad you chimed in. I'm aware of the same thing but you are obv way more qualified to speak on it. Listen to karamazonk and don't bury yourself in extra debt unless you are very confident you want to practice law.

But yeah, still making more than any job I could get right now. Although if I went to law school I could put myself on a career path to 6 figures+, but I'm not sure it's worth the life ev I'd sacrifice.

I would say my poker issues right now are almost entirely related to general life issues. Stress is not good for poker
I see, yeah that's quite unfortunate but still it's a good place to be in financially. Though as Tynan says, you can't bank on it being a sure thing forever. In fact you could probably bank on it definitely not being a sure thing forever.

I have a mate who is struggling financially and you can tell the anxiety of playing poker for a living while being broke/in debt is killing him.

People don't seem to realise that there's so much more to successfully playing poker professionally. You can't just grind 8 hours a day and ignore things like diet, health and fitness, social life, savings, relationships etc. If one or more areas of your life are lacking, it's going to manifest through poker somehow, whether that be in the form of burnout or **** results or losing interest etc.

Big +1. Law is such a grind too before you've even graduated. You'll be broke for the next 5 years and then working yourself to death for the next 30+.

Definitely, I didn't mean to make it sound like law school is a path to a guaranteed 6 figures, especially not out of the gate. The reason I mention it is because it's always been my family's expectation that I become a lawyer like my dad, and I'm sure if I did he would help me land a job, either at his firm or elsewhere (although I don't think I would go into the same type of law) But I saw how my dad has worked 70-80 hour weeks for years and how he mostly hates it. If I did go into law it would be as a means of helping people or effecting some kind of social change, not to grind ridiculous hours chasing 6-7 figs

This is an interesting/not so common hand. Just out of curiosity what do you roughly think villains range is here on the turn and river? How many cx/cs do you think he has on the river?

Also nice taste with Car Seat Headrest, great band.
