I check, he bets 45 and he looks like he is just going to win the hand without a fight as he's talking to one of the service girls. He gave me a hard stare when I announced raise, I made it 115 and he tanked for about 30 seconds, asked the dealer what card has been exposed, dealer says Kh (which I was kinda ticked about pretty sure the dealer can not tell him that info...I was a little sensitive to the small things at this point, but I kept my mouth shut) he announces all in and I 1 chip call 390 total.

Turn4h

He tables KQ and I say nuts. Finally I was able to drag a pot off of him!! That was the kick start I needed to get back in a groove. I then started playing with a much clearer mind. Stopped c betting on bad boards (actually a big leak I identified in my tilt game last night) and checked back to get value with my marginal holdings quite a few times.

Was a phone typo...turn was a 4h not a 5 that paired the board

I am to, it was on table 18 and I was on 19. I heard a lot of talking and saw a bunch of chips being put in from everywhere on the table.

It was a massive pot where everyone was 300+ deep...sounded like a hell of a game to be playing at.

On the other 2/5 table (yeah...3 2/5s on a monday at 1 am) there was a guy who worked for fidelity who apparently had just pwned some blackjack to the tune of 30k!!!

He changed up the poker game a ton!! Everyone would put in $25 at the table and they would run the cards out and the winning hand would take down the $225.

BUT...if your hand beat his hand then he would give you $25...even if neither hands were the full winning hand...as long as your hand beat his you got $25 lol.

The entire table beat him one hand lol

Ok,
So we all talk about the variance of poker but how varied are these time........
I'll explain: I posted earlier that I made that 5,500 in 3 days. Those 2 days cash were at 2/5. The next day im 3rd to act with AA, there's a strat, im running so pure so I just pop to 60 trying to get value w/ 500 behind. Everyone fold but the stat who pushes for 6. I snap call flipping my aces, she proceeds to say " I can still get lucky" showing 6's. Flops 457 rivers an 8. I tilt hard, go play 1/2 got my aces crack 3 more times that night same way all in pre flop totalling -1600 for the night.

Ever since then its just been so sick!! BR gone, ended up barrowing money from people I shouldn't in debt, playing scared poker, cant catch a break. Ive lost all confidence! So I waited 3 weeks, went back couldnt miss extracted ever $ I could. This was sat. Went sunday with a new confidence felt great.

At 1/2 get J9, 15 pre flop. Flops Q310. Bet 20, 1 caller. Turns an 8, DaNutts! Bet 30 she repops to 60, I ship, she calls. She played the whole hand with Q3 rivered a 3. Like WTF really? Did I play it wrong? I dont understand whats going on?
Any advice would be much appreciated

Sounds like your playing out side of your br management standards.
Swings are a big part of the game that what makes BRM soooooo important.

Yeah, I think the recommendation is to set some boundaries for your play and deal with swings better. You need to focus on making the best decisions you can before the money goes in. Once it's in, evaluate how you played, not how the cards fall - that part is irrelevant and beyond control.

You going to Vegas? Book your flight before the 14th for flights up to the 31st. I might go just for a weekend considering it is such a great flight deal.

Your right my BRM is very poor, I use poker income tracker but not like I should. It can just be veer frustrating. I need to have a plan in place for when this happens again so I don't have the same tilted outcome. Because I know it will happen again. Thanx

Hfrog355 ur right I never really looked at it that way. I guess I played it the right way and sometimes the river is a B****! I will try to not get so tilted by donkeys. Any suggestions/advice on how u guys cool tilts besides getting up from the table? I mean I got tilted on a pot I won last week. 800 turned broadway 3 people ship I call. The rivers a Q which makes a chop between me and someones else. Like a loss of a 350 profit. Am I to emotional with the board. Im usually pretty good at untilting but ever since those cracked aces its seems like I tilt so easy.

I'm sure others can give better advice, but it's like I said in the last post - All you can control are your actions before you put your money in. All of your mistakes happen when or before you put your money in. If you're going to be a professional (I am not), you have stop worrying about the money and worry about your decisions.

When you get it in with cards left to come, it doesn't matter what those cards are. What matters is how your stack gets in the pot. Everything else will even out to their true percentages over time.

DANUTTS Learn to have good conversations with your self.
It's extremely mental. Talk your self down explain to yourself why you play and that the only thing you can control is decisions (were not worried about outcomes).
Decisions based on information.
If you play golf you should understand.
Go on tilt and watch your game vanish

A buddy and I are going to be splitting a room at Monte Carlo for now. I've heard some things about places around town and apparently there's a place right by the rio that costs 450 for 2 weeks...obv not gunna be the nicest place but all I need is a place to crash while I'm not playing.

Planning on driving up there at the end of may/beginning of June an spending 3+ weeks out there. That's the reason why I want to drive bc I want to get out of Vegas and do other things as well while I'm out there b

Really cool thread OP, enjoyed the read. Went through most of it and really respect your mindset and the way you handle the grind. Live in Houston, visit that area on occasion (Lake Texoma), will definitely have to make a run by the casino next time I'm up that way and say what's up.
Good luck on the continued success, really gives me some hope that things may turn around in general for myself if I remain positive!

I'll be out there by around June 3rd RU...

Hope you're still crushing Las Vegas souls by then.

Would even like an interview with you to put on my pokertube and youtube account.

I think interviews with someone like you crushing $2/$5 would be more helpful to aspiring poker players than an interview with Tom Dwan.

That would be really cool!! Would more than happy to be interviewed, although I think the people would still like to hear what Tom Dwan has to say lol

Here's the thing, though.

Millions of people WANT to be Tom Dwan, but the truth is, they have a way better chance of becoming Running Uphill.

You're a very good poker player, but I don't think it's any stretch to say that if someone put in the time, the studying, the hard work, and had the discipline/patience/drive/balls...

They could possibly become a winning $2/$5 player.

I want my Youtube/Pokertube channel to have interviews with pros, but people like you in my opinion should be the real heroes to the 2+2 community.

My favorite poker player personally is DGIHARRIS, he's a guy I've been reading posts from over the last year and without his posts, I'd have never been able to beat $1/$2/put myself in a position to now try to beat $2/$5.

Your thread has inspired many and I think it would be great to talk poker with you for 30-45 min over some beers, on me...

Just saw this thread and read only page 1.

Im assuming no one has asked this before, but why did you start out with only $4k roll if you've made $40,000 in 2011 and $70,000 in 2012?
