No cause the main kid who got us all together (Kyle) went back to Mexico after the series. I'm pretty sure I remember you if your pretty big with a beard.

In good news- won 700 online today. The ultimate games are really good and I really forgot how convienent it is to grind from home. It was pretty annoying that my roommate was playing and it won't allow me to sit in any of his games cause we are on the same IP address. Couldn't play as many tables as I wanted but still stomped.

Rob I've been lurking this thread for a while, read all the way through and I have a question for you. For a person like yourself who seems competitive in a sense that you always want to win at the table, do you find it hard to quit when you are losing? Are you able to stop, or do you want to continue to play and dig yourself out of the hole? Keep up the good work!

I have never had this problem even when I first started.

I see a lot of poker players cut sessions short when winning and play longer when losing which makes absolutely zero sense.

I can quit pretty much whenever I want without issue. There have been several times I have gotten sucked out on/coolered pretty hard and just left within a few orbits because my mindset was upset/pissed off.

This is another reason I am against a set schedule for poker playing. I play when I feel like I am playing good, focused poker, not because today is thursday and I always play till 11pm on thursday.

This is also true for the reverse. If the game is really, really good and I am tired I will often push through because I deem it worth it.

What's up man? I just read the title of this thread and a few of your posts from the thread about aggressively shot taking from live 1/2 to 2/5. I gather you used to play at foxwoods? I'm grinding 1/2 there full time now, looking to move up and make a career out of live poker. Subbed to read your story when I have the time, drop me a PM if you are ever heading back to the woods!

Been following this thread basically from the beginning and you have been crushing 2/5, from what I can see, for over a year.

Is there a reason you haven't tried to move up to 5/10? Is 2/5 a comfortable level with minimal risk and a still solid hourly?

Not trying to push you but IME people move up too fast instead of delaying it and waiting till they are ready skill/BR wise

Either way, love the thread and good luck!!

I would imagine that moving from 2/5 to 5/T is a huge bankroll jump for a professional player.

As Tommy Angelo says, you can be a winning pro player and still end up "busto" after a few years. The reason is that life costs money. If your life costs exceed your bankroll, you end up busto (even if you're a winning poker player).

"Moving up" really has more to do with your life expenses and your life roll than your poker bankroll.

This 100% answers the previous question. I have no idea what the hell I spend my money on. It really adds up. It is a skill I lack dramatically. The amount of money I have at the moment is no where near the amount i have won playing this game.

For example I've spent about 400$ the past 4-5 days on random stuff.

I was playing 5/10 for a while back home before I moved here, but haven't even really came close to being a 5/10 reg here in Vegas. I have played once in a really good game.

I like to think I come off articulate and well mannered both in this thread and in person, but after all I am twenty two and do some dumb **** with money.

There was a PG&C thread that someone started towards the beginning of the year where all they did was log their expenses (I'll try to dig this up but I can't remember who the OP was... BOOM: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...cords-1283782/). I honestly thought it was pretty interesting to watch and see where the money goes. If you were to log expenses in this thread, I think it would be a good practice of discipline and people might be interested in seeing you BOC. I don't think it'd be necessary to itemize every transaction, but logging that for an entire month would certainly make you more conscious of money you spend.

The fact that you're even conscious of the fact that your costs "add up" puts you miles ahead of most young grinders.

It's like when you have a nice $2k day, you tell your non-poker buddy about it, and he's like "dude that's awesome! What are you gonna buy with it?!?"

The boring (yet correct) answer is: "pay rent; buy groceries; make a loan payment."
Maybe splurge and add shrimp to your Caesar salad.

When I get back from Connecticut I will do a log for 30 days. Wish I did it this month because I spent a lot.
