I think it is better to say that both governments knew their people and the Trump administration knew that their followers couldn't handle the truth. Better to say they don't work and save them for the people who would put them on properly.

So the CDC, rather than saying wear N95 masks properly (which btw I find neither fun nor un-fun), told the masses NOT to wear N95 masks and instead wear a variety of shitty masks including those that do absolutely nothing.

Did I mention that the powers that be at the CDC have a vested interest in more people dying? That is pretty clear.

My friend's mom just passed away due to covid.

He dropped her off at the hospital cause she was having trouble breathing. 12hrs later she went into cardiac arrest and didn’t come back. They ran out of beds in the ICU...

It's pretty crazy how seemingly random it is outside of the broad age aspect of it and also how fast it moves if you happen to be unlucky in the covid genetic lottery.

She was relatively young at 60yrs and otherwise in good health.

We're doing pretty well, thanks. Stamina isn't quite back to normal yet, and I can still feel the rasping in my airpipe when I work out, but I'm able to work out again and do a pretty normal routine. Wive had a slightly worse case than I did and is recovering a bit more slowly. We think she might have a sinus infection, so she's going to get that checked.

Otherwise all good, though. And at least we don't need to worry about catching it anymore, at least for a few months, and assuming that we're not statistical outliers.
