No squat suit or any other assistance except a comp legal belt and you have to reach depth. Not the trash you've been doing.
No promises on diet. I won't take steroids though.

What do you mean "the trash I've been doing"? No suit of any kind. Knee sleeves and belt.

My point was more along the lines that you're not gonna get there eating like that if that's your goal.

Not that you will never get there. I think it's a completely not out of the ordinary achievable benchmark.

Back aways in the other thread I was saying 500 is actually not that crazy to achieve for most people.

Everyone jumped on me saying that was nonsense and basically only pro athletes can get to that level.

As DC tried to point out there are even children and women that have reached and surpassed this benchmark.

When I say decades of training I was referring to the comment that people at Sabr's weight have squatted much more than 500. To me much more is 700+.

So while the vids of 300lb children in squat suits doing over 500 is cool and all it misses the point and is not comparing the same thing even though you're cherry picking the top squat prodigies.

And lastly regarding what you're doing, I was not referring to your equipment.
Just saying that if I ever took this bet that it would need to be a rep that would get 3 white lights.

Agree with Spyu. Not crazy for a hobby weight lifter to hit 500 squat. It takes times and hard work, but a reasonably achievable go.

I hit 455 weighing 255 no suit or belt. My diet was **** (except my dessert was often Greek yogurt with protein powder mixed in), my technique was probably only ok, and I wasn't really gunning for big squat numbers as I was more into pull ups and running at the time and just plinking along a 531 program. So yeah, def think most determined individuals could do it if they put in the time.

I hit 405 at 205 lbs about a year ago. Needed less than a year to go from 315 to 405, my weight didn't change during that time at all (I definitely lost some fat and gained some muscle during that time).

I took a lot of time off last year and got fat, hence my current diet. I feel very close to being able to do 405 again (probably around 20 pounds away). Once I'm a bit slimmer I imagine I'd have to bulk up more to climb towards 500.

It gets much hard the higher you go. 405-500 is waaaay harder than 315-405.

Kind of like poker.

It's like a guy saying because he went from 5Nl - 100NL in a year. He'll be able to go from 100NL to 2kNL by the following year just as easily.

A strategy for hitting big weight that I've seen but never done myself: Try having a friend watch you do a set or two to failure (safely) and tell you where your form breaks and come up with assistance lifts to strengthen those specific weak points.

Upper back staying neutral, hip flexibility at depth (inflexibility causes "butt wink", a little butt wink is ok tho), and glute weakness are all things to look at.

I workout every day, and never seem to get too big, but I'm also deathly afraid of losing abbbzzz. I definitely have put on mass. I don't deadlift or squat though. I feel like my average diet throughout the year is more or less on point to very slowly put on muscle but get a toned image. I'd rather be super toned with above average mass, and have a sick six pack, than be way bigger than humans were ever intended to be and have a fat stomach.

He doesn't have to maintain the same diet throughout. Clearly he is trying to get leaner right now.

I am just surprised that all the crushers playing 50/45 in LLSNL have time to discuss poker. Between playing every hand and printing money, how do you find time?

Which doesn't make sense if his goal is trying to increase his 1RM in squat by over 100lbs.

I'm sure it's not his only goal, and he has 3 years to increase it.

Eating lunch and staring out the window of my second floor office. Car is attempting to parallel park on a truck down below and I hear this big scratch / screech as it bends its side into the truck's back bumper. Tries another half-hearted attempt, then eventually gives up and just drives away with a decent gash in it's side panel. Lol.

Idk wtf is wrong with people. Did you get a license plate number by chance? I remember the only time I've ever been in an "accident," I ****ed up and accidentally scraped someone's car in a card room parking lot (I was younger, it was dark outside, and the car was pitch black and not in a parking spot), with no cameras, and I still left a note.

Why do you think you took the discussion so bizarrely personal and got so emotional over it?

Truck doesn't look to have any damage on it, maybe just very minor scuffs, but it was pretty funny seeing the car drive away with it's big bruise.
