I'm not sure how or why, but TN seems to be slowing down my computer drastically while running. I've made sure my machine is clean. I can run 24 tables on stars with PT3 running without a problem. If I open TN it starts to lag my computer, even if I only have a few tables open and close down PT3.

I'm running Vista 32bit.

This problem has been going on for a couple of weeks. Most of the time it seems to stop after I've been playing a session for about an hour or so, but it always happens at the beginning of my session.

What it does is makes my mouse 'stutter' as I'm trying to move it. Its caused a few misclicks. It also causes a bit of a delay after I perform an action and am waiting for the next table to pop up.

I'm using the Hyper Simple theme btw.

If your running vista 32bit you prob only have 2gb memory which is way to low for running 24 tables + pt3 + tn and whatever else is running in the background of processes. Vista is also pretty ****ty.

You can try switching to classic windows theme.

I have 4gb of memory and haven't had a problem with this in the past. It just started happening recently.

If you read my post you would see that I have the problem with TN open. I don't need 24 tables open to produce the problem. 1 table does it, my machine runs perfectly fine with PT3 + 24 tables but lags up with TN and 1 table open with PT3 closed.

couple of quick Qs about sit-n-go opener:

if i want to set it up to reg for all 180 turbos $3r and higher ($8, $15, $35) am i better off setting up 4 separate filters or putting them all in one?

i just tried a session with them all in one filter and it seemed to favour the higher buyins (the 35s don't run often, so this was an annoyance), and also stopped regging before it reached the target number (i.e. the target was 12, it would stop regging at 10).

with one big filter for 4 different buyin levels, should the 'max per cycle' be 4, or 1?

It sounds like your using Microsoft Security Essentials. Try adding TableNinja to its list of excluded programs on its options tab. Let me know if this doesn't seem to explain the problem.

Its always best to have each slot setup to isolate one specific game. Not all games are running at at given time and its possible a generic filter would pick up a game you weren't planning to play. The max per cycle is the max number of games the Sensei will register for you in one attempt. I usually set it to match the "Keep" number.

Hey thanks. I did recently install Microsoft Essentials. Never occurred to me that it could be the problem.

The slow cursor thing is gone, thank god. When I tested it out however, since adding TN to the excluded programs, whenever I move a table with the auto hot key to a different slot, there is a bit of a flicker in the table. Its hard to describe and only mildly annoying. I removed TN from the excluded programs to see if that problem went away and if the slow mouse comes back. The slow mouse did come back but the flicker stayed. Overall, the tables seem to move a bit slower than normal from one slot to another.

I've tried uninstalling microsoft security essentials but the problem still persists.

Its strange that I don't get the same flickering when I use the built in stars hotkeys for stacking and tiling. When I do that, its super fast and smooth.

This isn't a major issue though. If you think you might know what is causing that then great.

Thanks again.

Are you using Vista or Win 7? If so try changing to an Aero based Windows desktop theme. Then go to the start menu search and type "performance information and tools", without the quotes, and hit enter. In the new window that pops up click the adjust visual effects link. Choose custom and make sure everything is disabled except the following:

enable desktop composition
enable transparent glass
show thumbnails instead of icons
smooth edges of screen fonts
use visual styles on windows and buttons

Also make sure UAC is disabled according to the following instructions:

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...UAC+(Windows+7)

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...Off+UAC+(Vista)

Let me know if none of this seems to help.

If TableNinja hangs when loading it likely means you are either having trouble connecting to the server or that your config is corrupt. First give the following a try:

1) Open your Internet Explorer and go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections and click on "LAN-Settings" at the bottom.

2) Uncheck every box in the new window that appears and click ok.

3) Try to load TableNinja again.

If that doesn't help make sure TableNinja is closed and go to C:/Program Files/TableNinja. Cut the file named TNConfigAutoLoad and paste it to your desktop as a backup. Then try to load TableNinja again. Let me know if none of this seems to help.

Thanks again for your help. I tried playing a session today and it seems that I underestimated the problem. When I tested it out yesterday I wasn't actually playing, just opened a few tables and thought that I could live with the bit of flicker. When I'm actually playing though and adding more tables the flickering becomes unbearable and seems to bog down my computer. Not sure if its worse than the other problem I had before you told me to add TN to the excluded programs list in Microsoft Security Essentials.

I am using Windows Vista 32bit.

I've gone into the performance options as you advised and unchecked everything except for the ones you mention. Just to be clear though, there is not a check box for "Show transparent glass". There is however, one for "Show translucent rectangle". I'm assuming this is what you meant so I left that box checked.

At the time of writing this post, I haven't disabled UAC yet, as I'll have to restart. Going to save this post, disable UAC and restart. Then I'll test things out and post what happens.

The problem that I am having disappears when I turn off Auto Import for PT3. Weird that it just started after the problem with TN going away. It feels like its all related in some way to performance issues + microsoft security essentials. I suspect that MSE may have turned UAC on again because I was pretty sure I already had it turned off since I first bought my computer.

Ok thanks again for your help. Going to restart and I'll let you know how it goes

Ok, i've done everything you asked but unfortunately the problem still persists.

I really do appreciate your help so far, especially since it appears my problems are not even related to TN but something to do with either MSE or PT3.

The flickering is always there when I move tables. My computer really slows down in transitioning from one table to another in the stack once my hud is displayed though. That part is fine with PT3 running and even auto import on until the Hud comes on which usually takes a minute or two after starting auto import.

I'm going to run housekeeping though I doubt this will be a fix since I started a new data base just recently and have run housekeeping a couple of times since. If that doesn't improve my situation I'll have to check with the people at pokertracker.

It sounds like there may be a few problems. Please email support@alxsoftware.com with a link to this thread. I'll go over your system in detail and setup a teamviewer session if necessary.

Thanks very much for the offer!

I wound up doing a system restore. I couldn't go back to before I first installed MSE, but I went back about a week and uninstalled MSE (after doing some reading on it I think I'll look into some of the other free anti-virus programs).

Tested things out, TN updated and everything works fine. I have an update to PT3 yet to make and am worried about doing that - its a beta version.

I'll pass on your very generous offer while crossing my fingers that these problems do not come back.

Thanks again.

Try going to PokerStars>Options>Table Display Options and disable "Large Fonts On Small Tables". If this doesn't seem to help please send a copy of the following files to support@alxsoftware.com and I'll check them over for errors:

1) Your TNLog and TNConfigAutoLoad files. You will find them in C:\Program Files\TableNinja

2) A screen shot of your desktop with a table and your HUD displayed. See instructions at http://www.iopus.com/guides/screenshot.htm. Please send the screen shot even if you don't have a HUD or custom table theme.

Yes for both questions. The AA Check/Fold hotkey in TableNinja>Action Hotkeys should trigger the fast fold checkbox. Let me know if you have any other questions.

In the middle of a session, the Current number marks me more of the quantity of sits i am registered/playing so by that it registers me in less of the quantity of sits i want to play at the same time. Anyone knows how to fix this? it was working okay untill 2 days ago.

Sorry for my bad english btw. Thanks.

Software improvement suggestion

It would be cool in SNG sensei if I could enable a checkbox that would play a sound at the end of my timed sessions, it'd just be kinda nice as sessions seem to go by the fastest for me when I don't look over and check the "run minutes". It'd be nice to hear the sound then say to myself, alright good session, only these tables left.

TN is really pissing me off something rotten. I've tried adjusting settings on it and on my pc from what TN forum mod says yet it still does the same horrible ****. Tables flicking back to previous table all the time, but I can bear that, it's the fact that my TN has a mind of its own and sometimes when i fold or raise it proceeds to do that action on the next 3/4/5 tables without me pressing anything.

For example today I was deep in an mtt and after raising on a different table, the mtt popped up and it 3 bet commit me with the 25 off ffs if it's not soul destroying enough going on a 8k game mtt break even stretch with having to put up with TN and all it's disgusting little bugs that make me piss money against the wall and send me mental in the head. I'm seriously considering looking for a different software at this rate.

Try going to PokerStars>Options>Advanced Multi-Table Options and disable the box marked "Auto-close tournament without notification". Then go to TableNinja>Opening/Closing>Tournaments and make sure the "Automatically close finished tournaments" feature is set to two seconds or more. Let me know if this doesn't seem to help.

Are you Microsoft Security Essentials? Did you recently install another security program? If your using MSE try adding an exception for TableNinja on its options tab. Otherwise please send a copy of the following files to support@alxsoftware.com and I'll check them over for errors:

Try going to PokerStars>Options>Advanced Multi-Table Options and disable the box marked "New Tournaments Take Focus" and "Auto-open Sit & Go tournament lobby". Then go to TableNinja>Opening/Closing>Tournaments and disable "Close tournament lobby when tournament opens".

If that doesn't seem to help please email support@alxsoftware.com with a link to this thread. I'll setup a teamviewer session and see what I can do.
