Do you see PostgreSQL in the list? Is it started? Can you start it?

Thanks for the feedback, But it doesnt give me that option when it opens it says configure postgresql database and gives me the option to connect or cancel. Then if i click either an error message comes up and tells me to select one of the active databases, it wont let me connect to my active database and it wont let me create a new one. When i x that off isays you must select an active database with two options ok and exit Pt, if i hit ok it brings me back to the previous step and if choose exit pt it just goes off ?

My suggestion is not in PT3 - click Start in Windows..
If you can't start the service, or that doesn't help, please start a thread on the PokerTracker website - we will be able to help you much more easily there. Things can easily get lost in a thread like this.

Is there a reason why PT hud doesn't update? Sometimes it takes a couple minutes but now it's been like half an hour really annoying
02-06-2012 , 11:04 PM
I downloaded poker tracker but don't see the hud when I go to the table. I play on Black Chip fwiw, and I only downloaded the trial version for omaha. What can I do, I think I saw Beta as an option when I downloaded but selected the other option, is that the problem? I don't know anything about this stuff so please help or direct me towards a thread that can. Thanks

Nevermind, new problem is I can't get the stats to line up with the right person. Anybody help on this?

Please check the FAQ: HUD in the documentation on the PokerTracker website. If you start a new thread or open a support ticket on the PokerTracker website we'll be able to help you more directly.

If you haven't already, please update to v3.11.9 Beta - quite a lot of issues have been addressed since v3.10.
You can right-click-drag the stats to where you want them and then PT-icon > Save Layout. If you use preferred seating please check the tutorial on Preferred Seating in the Documentation on the PokerTracker website.

Yeah it dawned on me after a while of trying lol.
Im not sure if this is the right place to be asking this but i had to delete postgresql because it didnt work and tried downloading it again but need a password ? I dont think i gave a password when i installed postgresql first day but if i did i cant remeber it. Any suggestions ?

Try:
svcPASS83
dbpass
or
postgrespass

Those are the three most common passwords used for PostgreSQL. If those don't work, please see the uninstall and reinstall guide in the documentation area of our site and that will walk you through how to remove the user so you can start completely from scratch.

If a SNG lasts only for one hand, results are not showed correctly.
The tournament tab shows that there were -2147483648 players in the SNG and even if I won the hand, net won is shown as I lost it.
It's really annoying to correct all these "bugged" results by myself all the time.

I'm using the latest beta.

Hi, I need to double-check certain stats, hope this is the correct place for that.

It's come to my attention PT3 includes folding to a 3bet without money in the pot in the F23b stat. For example, if UTG opens, CO 3bets, and we fold on BTN, that counts towards our F23b.

I'm using the 6-max positional HUD and I changed "F23b" to "Fold to pre-flop 3bet when raised." (I also changed all my positional stats to "Fold to pre-flop 3bet when Raised.) However, does this include times we limp/are in the blinds? For example, we limp UTG, CO raises, BTN 3bets, and we fold. Will this count towards our F23b?

All I want is a stat that shows the % of times WE are the pre-flop raiser, get 3bet, and fold.

Secondly, I've read the "float" stat = % bet versus missed cbet. This is not what I expected since "float" is typically defined as just calling a street (usually in position but I guess you can float out of positional as well). Is this correct?

Are there plans for changing these stats in PT4? I'm concerned that I've been playing with incorrect stats my entire poker career, assuming they meant what common sense would dictate. I'm not trying to get pissy, I'm just surprised (especially about F23b) since it's one of the most used stats and I doubt many people understand it isn't calculating exactly what they think.

Thanks.

Quite a few sites don't include any results information in their hand history files so PT3 attempts to infer the results from the play of the tournament but in some very short tournaments like this there isn't enough information to detect the tournament type correctly. I wouldn't expect to see numbers like that though - please attach the hand history file to a support ticket on the PokerTracker website and tell us the type of tournament so that we can see if the detection rules can be improved.

No - "Fold to pre-flop 3bet when Raised" only counts hands where the player folded to a 3Bet after making the first raise.

Yes, that's correct. When a player calls a CBet we don't know what the intention of that is. We only know the intention was to bet if the aggressor checks the next street when that is what actually happens, so in PokerTracker a "float" is the bet on the next street, not the call.

The definition of these stats isn't changed in PT4 - again there are both options for the fold to 3bet stat, and floats are defined the same way. There is also a stat for "Call F CBet", but that doesn't tell you what the intention is, so it isn't labelled as a "float".

Hi i am having problems with the manual import, i play on PartyPoker and sometimes a few hands fail to auto import during my session, its due to party lagging a small bit and screwing the HH, anyway i can request the HH by email.

I've done that and copy and pasted the HH from the email to a .txt file and tried auto/manual import but it failed, i tried loads of variations but they all failed.
I'm kind of lost and need help. Thanks

Also my DB goes way back, way way back, there's probably like 1mil hands on it that i never want to see again, will it work if I create a new DB in "database management" import my current hands to that DB and erase the old DB.
Sounds like it should work but want confirmation before i go and do something that could potentially back fire.

Antster2,

Yes creating a new database will work just as you describe. Once you've brought the data over just set your new database as Active and Default and then you'll be all set. Later, once you're certain you no longer need it, you can delete your old database at your convenient.

Regarding your Party hand history, could you attach that file you tried to import to a support ticket on our website for us? Once we see what you have it will be easier for us to figure out where things are going wrong for you.

Downloaded the free beta version of pokertracker and it worked fine. Tried to use it today and can't get it to work. Saw that merge isn't under the sites listed and microgaming is what it's running when I'm playing on Black Chip Poker.
Idk what to do to get merge back to auto-import history, I tried to follow the default instructions. Tried set-up wizard and select 'merge' then step 2 it has the 'x' and again the instructions were no help. Anybody help here? Thanks
02-09-2012 , 04:38 PM
crujones,

Try clicking the "Show Hidden Sites" box on the Auto Import tab - it's possible you set Merge to be hidden, and that box will set all hidden sites to display. You can then click on them and in their Configuration Tab uncheck the box to stop the site from being hidden if you want it to display normally.

I just downloaded the trial version of PT3 and I am at the screen where it says configure PostfreSQL server.

It shows:

server: localhost database user: postgres
port: 5432 password: dbpass

When I click connect, it says unable to connect to this database. Please check configuration. Any help would be appreciated

Try the password: "postgrespass" (without the quotes) - that might also work for you.

Thank you that worked!

Looked at the guide and had a problem with the command prompt. Where it should of said successfully deleted, it read:

The syntax of this command is:

NET USER
[username [password : */][options] [/DOMAIN]
username {password : *} /ADD [options] [DOMAIN]
username [/DELETE] [/DOMAIN]
username [/TIMES:{times : ALL}]

Is it possible to colour code players names on the hud. I've done it for all the stats but doesn't work for names.
02-10-2012 , 09:27 PM
I have a problem where my tabs on people at my table arent loading. Some will actually load, if I have hands on them from previous sessions but they arent updating for my current session.

Im running v3.11.9beta.

Any help would be much appreciated.
02-10-2012 , 11:57 PM
Edit: Thought it was working again but its not.

Edit2: It does kind of work, but I have discovered the tabs are updating live as they should be. I watched my hands played at 1 table on my tab. It stayed at 9 for a period of time, and next time the table came up, it was at 43.

Make sure you copy the command exactly as it is written, with the spaces in the right places.
It needs to be:
net<space>user<space>postgres<space>/delete

Yes, you can. How are you trying to colour the names? Do you want to just make the player name a different colour, or do you want to colour it based on the value of another stat?

Check that the cache status says 100% for all game types in the status bar at the bottom of PT3. If it doesn't, run Database > Housekeeping.
Other than that, check the FAQ: HUD in the documentation on the PokerTracker website and if you continue to have problems please start a new thread in the forum on the PokerTracker website where we will be able to help you more directly.
