I wonder if it's going to be an argument simulator.

lol terrible. I thought that type of gameplay died in the 90's.

I love how they immediately bring in a child character, the people in this thread will love that.

This line of thinking is even more patently absurd than the "if you think the show is so terrible, then why do you keep watching" nonsense. Since when do you have to be an accomplished writer to criticize bad writing? Can you imagine if you complained about your dentist screwing up your teeth (or your accountant with your tax return, a bad meal at a restaurant, endless et ceteras) and their response was "could you do any better"?

I want to like the show. I want to fistpump when Daryl says "I guess it's as good a night as any to die" as he hops over the porch railing with his crossbow, I truly do. But those reactions have to be earned, and for every credit this show builds up with moments like that, it subtracts five more with its emotional shallowness, stilted performances, and rampant stupidity. So I get my kicks making fun of it, and sharing in the pleasure of others who do the same. It's the hipster in me.

I freggin hate this kid. He is the worst. Acting is sooo soo bad. I kept hoping a zombie would eat his face off.

That the main character is a black guy who starts the game handcuffed in the back of a cop car is being true to the spirit of the show, though he talks a little too much.

Why is he handcuffed with his hands in front? Who writes this ****?

The Dialog in this game appears to be on par with or worse than the show. However the directing and the overall writing of the scenarios seems to actually be better. And then there is the fact that the gameplay structure was dated 15 years ago.

My favorite part(and I didn't watch the whole thing) is that the guy playing it is like an actual player, not a developer, so there's a part after he shoots the first zombie where it's pretty obvious he has no ****ing idea what to do next and just spams his cursor around looking for a hotspot that will let him do something.

Like, that's exactly why adventure games died.

haha, ya. The scary thing is how big of a segment they were in their day. I mean, look at Myst, and how long it took for it to kick the bucket after the adventure genre had already died. There was a Myst MMO made ffs.

I'm starting to feel bad for the kid, because he is becoming the focus of a meme negatively aimed at himself, and he's like 10 years old. Not make-me-stop-laughing feel bad, but this kid's future is not bright.

They don't make Final Fantasies, Silent Hills or Zeldas anymore? Really I have no idea

Did Karl lose the sherriff's hat? I don't think he had it on when he kept saying, "I'm freezing." He didn't have during the barn burning either as I remember. Did it get left on the farm?

I hope I hope!

the more i hear this name "Michonne" the more I want her name to be "Kim."

doesn't make the character anymore badass than she already is, I'm sure it leads to an insufferable back story (what kind of name is Michonne?) and it's a stupid name that I'm already sick of.

carry on.

I like Michonne and her character (without having read the comics). But I think she won't fit in the show. It's something you would expect in a comic but they haven't really made an effort to stylize the show like a comic.

Would you guys like it (except for the ones that don't like anything) if they got into zombie behavioral science some more? Like if somehow they explained why some zombies seem to be able to smell humans out, while others can't? Why some are "roamers" while others just chill? Why they tend to congregate in areas once populated heavily by people, even though there's no reason to do that if there aren't humans around anymore?

nah, they'd absolutely botch that and just raise more questions. probably best left untold to be honest.

Just because a games story line is that of an adventure doesn't make it an adventure genre game. Final Fantasy is probably the closest of those three, in that you wander around waiting for instanced battles to occur, which are essentially puzzles. Zelda is most certainly not in the adventure genre, and I haven't played Silent Hill, but isn't it pretty much a Resident Evil clone of sorts?

All that being said, I have no clue when the last time was that a game in any of those franchises was released... I think it's been a while.

Assuming she's just some random urban* chick in Atlanta I find the name Michonne completely plausible.

*PC euphemism ldo
