This show would be so cool with the BB writing staff.
Shows make no sense and is some of the most horrible writing on tv, but it's got zombies , I'll keep watching.

On Talking Dead, Kirkman explained that only Otis knew Sophia was in the barn, b/c he put her there, but he died before he knew about the search.

Yeah, no matter how you slice it, there's a hole in the writing. Either they should have told them Sophia was in there after Glenn found out about the barn, or they didn't realize it was her. Either explanation is terrible.

I don't see how anyone could think they've developed these characters. FFS, I don't even know most of their names. I honestly thought the dude from Boondock Saints was named Dale until tonight, and I still don't know his actual name (or the name of Black Dude, Crazy Blonde Broad, or Sophia's Mom).

For a great contrast between this show and a decent show, I watched tonight's ep of Homeland too. In that show, they introduced a 5 year-old boy early on in the episode -- he's the son of an Osama bin Laden-level evil terrorist -- and developed him enough to make you care about him, like him, and want to see more of him; then they

Spoiler:

kill him in an explosion at the end of the episode and it actually matters to you. Pretty emotional climax to the hour.

That's it -- it took them about 35 minutes (broken up by several scenes of Claire Danes popping pills and staring at people incredulously) to introduce a kid and develop him enough so the ending mattered. In The Walking Dead, they spend 2 months on a plotline about Sophia, and you don't care at all that she's a zombie. And her mom isn't even Osama bin Laden.

Believe it or not, the comics are actually a very good read.

Shane is a legend, Dale needs to die.

I was also very impressed with T-Dog's part this episode, making his first appearance 35 minutes in and saying ''Oh sh*t!''.

They need to hurry up and leave the farm so they can get to the best arc of the story. There's been what 13 episodes? They leave the farm in issue 12 of the comic, granted they've done a lot of things differently but the slow pace sucks.

Going to reread the comics to see if they are as good as I remember.

Better final scene:

Door opens, zombies come out with Sophia being one of the first. See looks on everyone's faces in horror and they start shooting the rest, but nobody wants to shoot her. Zombies falling all around her she advances until she is the only one left and is almost upon them with Shane not ready to pull the trigger, and then Rick out of nowhere blows her head off from the side.

Final scene was great as well as most scenes Shane was in.

Don't mind Dale that much, I think he was in the minority of characters where I had the feeling he had an agenda, a goal or at least some reasoning for his behaviour.

Daryl needs to do more Daryl stuff again. Since he's been shot he's just a pussy who doesn't do anything cool anymore.

I actually liked the the black dude whose name I also have totally forgotten because we pretty much haven't seen him all that much.
If he was in every scene instead of Carl who I wanna slap every time he opens his mouth, I would be fine with it.

Cancer lady - I don't care about at all. Since her daughter died maybe she could ask Daryl to shoot her or something.

Blondie turned Ramboine is at least making an impression now and has some kind of revelation story, I don't mind that.

Dirty Glencing story is just a filler and doesn't really add much for me, we didn't even get to see nekkid boobs (I miss HBO).

Rick's wife (she also got a stupid name that neither does fit to her character nor has it any memorable qualities) gets more annoying every week, I so hope she loses her baby soon, pregnant women or women with babies never add anything good to a show.

That all being said, last scene with the barn was awesome and well-shot.
Now it's time to get them moving again, without the always imminent thread of being attacked by walkers at any time, the show just moves a bit too slow.

That is a load of ****. We are supposed to believe that Otis never mentioned to Hershel (the ring leader/law giver) or his ****ing wife that the "poor sick soul" he wrangled out of the swamp was a child. Bull****!

And if these "people" are still alive, shouldn't Hershel be tending to their festering wounds when they are found? I mean, they are sick, not dead. And he wouldn't want them dying from neglect, would he?

God this show pisses me off!

And don't forget that good old Otis (who went through the trouble/risk of catching the zombies for the barn) went on a massive killing spree at the school

Glen tells Dale about the barn.
Dale thinks Shane is a psychopath and must assume Shane will react like a psycho when he finds out.
Does Dale tell Glen to pull Rick aside and tell him about the barn? Or do that himself? No. They just blurt it out over breakfast in front of the kid, the psycho, the distraught mother.

And though I agree that most of Shane's reactions were warranted in a zombie filled world. The actor portraying him ****ing sucks! And the director being happy with the crap acting by him and several others is just sad.
