Slightly confusing, but I assume it will all come together.

S1-E1>S2-E1

And there is basically no chance that S2-E2 will be better than S1-E2 either. You know... Alexandra's boobs and all...

Thought the first episode was full of terrible cliches as well as being over the top and cheesy. It's got style, good music, and there isn't much else on so I'll give it a 2nd watch. Overall pretty disappointed though.

I mean alcoholic out of control cop who hates the world. PTSD solider with ED who hates himself for what he did during war and wants to die. Super badbooty female character who packs ninja knifes and hates the world cuz her daddy.

I mean, I really hope these characters get better.

It's trivial for an investigator to find the culprit based on these two statements.

Thank you. Someone finally made a reasonable argument. I suppose you're right. The investigating officer can cross-reference cops with kids who attend Aspen's school and narrow it down to Velcoro that way.

I still don't have a problem with the storyline, though. Velcoro wears a ski mask and gloves to rough up Howser. He must have some reason for believing he doesn't need them at the Conroy residence.

I haven't went back for a full second viewing, yet, so I'm still uncertain exactly what role Frank Semyon plays assigning Velcoro to do his dirty work. Maybe Velcoro feels untouchable. Maybe he is. It's only episode 1.

lol are u serious? cross reference?
how about a ****ing description from the victim?

how many plain clothes officers in that small dept do u think would fit the description?

holy jesus **** this debate is pure aids.

do u think it's 1971 n there isn't a record of him calling in to get the address?
we need to be pro choice n abort this whole discussion.

No, there is no record of Detective Velcoro requesting the address. But, yeah we need to leave this alone. FFS. We gotta agree to disagree here.

Also, I'm new here. Can someone help me out. Is this how things typically go around here? Because this is how it went in the "My job is driving me nuts" thread.

Somebody asks you a question.

You respond.

It's too long in another poster's estimation, so they reply "did not read"
(lol replies to the poster's did not read follow, along with more did not read replies)

Someone asks you to answer another question, that you've already answered in your first response.

You respond to that question.

People start posting hateful stuff to you, along the lines of "nobody cares. STFU. You're AIDZ'n up dis thread! etc"

You leave it alone, but 15-20 posts later someone trolls in and asks you yet another question that you've already answered in a previous post.

Knowing what will follow, yet you still respond.

And so on, and so on...

Does that cycle sound familiar to anyone? It's hard for me to know, if I'm the idiot for continuing to respond to people, or if people are moronic for not reading the thread and asking questions that have already been answered.

Edit: Obvious answer here is: Both.

Velcoro is using a 2-way radio, a walkie talkie, to communicate with dispatch. She radios him, "I have that address you requested". So right there. What technology is being used to record a 2-way radio communication? Most cops nowadays have on board computers, but in this show they're using 2-way radios.

Dispatch is sitting in front of a PC that they are logged into, not Velcoro. They look up the information and radio Velcoro. Do you think there is a prompt that asks, "Detective's name?" before they can start the search? I don't think so.

Also, and as I've already posted, if this case were ever investigated it would come days/weeks after the police report were filed. I doubt a dispatcher is going to remember an individual query after that amount of time has passed.

Edit: I should make it clear that I'm not intending to insult you. I'm not even saying that I'm right. I'm just saying that I've already posted my thoughts & reasoning in this thread. Any tone of sarcasm is just from me being frustrated that I'm having to repeat myself.

Exactly. That's why you keep asking questions that the poster has already answered.

Ignorance may be bliss, but you and I disagree on whether or not it's to be celebrated.

OK so the dispatch is giving out this info to some rando they can't identity huh?
is this how you think LEO's operate?

you are talking out of your ass on a subject you clearly know nothing about n its not a great look.
I understand it's hard to admit when you're wrong but it's really not that big of a deal.

prolly best to just drop it and move on.

you can be absolutely certain that when an officer requests information from dispatch the dispatcher knows exactly who they're talking to.

this would literally be the easiest investigation ever.

Crazy how divided the opinions are on this show. I have some friends who flat out hated E1. I'm not in that camp, because compared to 95% of TV it was still decent. I think if you trimmed 10% of the fat of E1 it would have been better. And that 10% for me was mostly due to the director.

Nothing is ever gonna touch season 1, we know that. But to me these actors already seem better than I ever expected them to be when they announced their names. I frankly really disliked the choices, and all but one so far is outdoing what I had hoped they'd be able to do. Apparently things pick up by E3, so I'm looking forward to it. But yeah, admittedly E1 was cheesy.

The first season drew you in with Russ's unique view of the world. It made his character interesting and you wanted to know more about him.

These characters....not very interested in. Very standard cliched characters. Why do I care about them? I can see how they don't want to repeat themselves but how hard is it to have some of the police having some redeeming qualities.

Nah Bell is an actual real city with tens of thousands of residents. This is a fake scam city like Vernon or Industry
