Yeah, there was one where there was an orange 'friendly' plate behind a target they said Jay hit, but all his friendly plates were yellow. I usually don't spot continuity issues like that, but it was just so jarring.

And +1 to whoever mentioned the lol at giving Jermaine the gun the second time. Maybe not a lot of the blame should be given to his teammates--you probably expect your teammates to do things correctly, but once he screws up once, if I'm in the same bunker I make sure he does things correctly (and I'd have the time to think, since we're just watching others do things for a bit). Guys in the second bunker might not have too much time to think--since they're running and shooting and stuff, but you just watched an error ahead of you, someone ought to think a bit, even if it's after the targets are hit.

i think jermaine needed to leave for some reason and they had him screw up spectacularly in the team challenge (which somehow remained neck and neck the whole time anyway even though his team wasnt shooting any better) then rigged the showdown.

It wouldnt be the first reality show to fix stuff like that, but i dunno. Doesnt seem the kind of guy to go along with it because basically it makes him look really terrible, esp the shoot off which was basically his job to teach others to do that and he got beat by the golf coach who has been shooting guns for less than a year.

It doesnt really pass the smell test to be rigged.

Just seemed really odd watching it. I just rewatched on hulu and Jermaine went 7/9 including the two for one. Jay went 6/11 despite not even getting a shot off during the first window, including the mentioned shot of hitting a target with jermaines orange friendly targets behind it.

Yeah that seemed odd to me as well. Jay started out horrible then somehow was blasting 2 targets consecutively when the window was open. It's 30 seconds, can they not just show it live without cutting it to the slow mo shots of the plates blowing up? It's cool but makes it seem like major editing was going on.

I wish they would show the challenges unedited as well. I would assume they are doing it the way the do so that you don't instantly know who is eliminated.

Jay is gonna win the show imo

I thought it was pretty good. It was good to see the challenge being done "live" with no editing and the clock in the corner so you knew when the blues were running out of time.

Although not as spectacular as some previous challenges (the one next week looks fun) its good to see none-gun challenges. I look forward to a hawk throwing week every time i see the opening credits, lol.

I think they could have done something much more spectacular with the bow, the challenge was to just score a bull, the stupid bent tubes didnt really add anything to the challenge itself. Some kind of extreme distance shot where they are having to aim like 45 deg up so they arent directly sighting in the target for instance and combine it with some precise short range shots resembling the famous William Tell shot would have been better.

Actually the bent tubes did allow something--and that was for things to be broken/smashed.

Your point was taken though--it was just a bullseye contest, something they've done before (including the decreasing diameters of the target)

Dont get me wrong, i did like that they tried something different. But in reality it wasnt different and they barely took advantage of what can be done with an arrow that cant be done with a slug including bending them round corners using drain pipes. Its interesting, sure, but it aint special compared to the ability to shoot over objects using high trajectory shots and they didnt do anything we historically associate with arrow shooting.

In fact the shoot off i considered a much better challenge than the team challenge was. Have them go up in pairs blue vs red with the targets they are firing at getting smaller and/or moving faster and make it a combination speed and accuracy test and just have it be first to hit three targets instead of whatever it was in the shootoff (8 iirc).

thought it was pretty cool, still think jay is a douche and george is awesome and that the last one was rigged to keep jay in. agree that it would have been nice to require some trajectory shots.

Lol, so awesome to see the underdogs go out and bring it. Jay once again dropped in a solid performance, Kyle brought it and rounding out the blue win was great to see and then Jamie went out and ended the old dude by a ****ing huge margin in the shoot off after being screwed over to be nominated for it. Hopefully the next to go is the USAF sniper douche, taken out and absolutely decimated in the next shoot off by Jamie.

Also i think Jay once again showed he knows strategy. He has the goofy 70s shooting style and all the experts considered him near the bottom (except the bow challenge ldo) but he knows trying something new at this point wont achieve results in a pressure shooting environment and it would take 100 hours to truly get used to the modern grip they keep trying to show him, yet what he excels in is bringing his best more consistently.

Anyway, next week is the one ive been waiting for and it should take everyone out of their comfort zone and really level the playing field.

grunching: i haven't read the thread yet and don't want to for fear of spoilers. is this season worth watching? i watched s1 and enjoyed it, but don't necessarily want to invest time in a second season if it's exactly the same. are the challenges any better? is the whole voting process improved at all?

Format is the same. Challenges are new and I would say a bit better overall.

they def have a better overall cast of characters and better challenges this season

there is also a legitimate amount of "drama" involved as some contestants really seem to hate others

blowguns were awesome, tomahawks were pretty cool, would have been cooler if they were doing cod 360 throws on moving targets

Yeah, that was a fun ep and next week looks good too.

I have like zero opinion on Chris Tilley leaving in that ep. He isnt the weakest of the 10 left but he has certainly performed terribly in previous challenges and you cant really put anyone up there but the two people who missed the two shots. Shame it wasnt one of the red team, i hate the red team, lol.

I disagree. Chris only got to throw one tomahawk. That is a pretty ridiculous sample size. He got one throw on a weapon that won't be used again and has no similarities to anything else they'll be using. Sending him based on that is dumb. The blue team ended up sending their two best overall performers to the elimination challenge. They better hope that it goes to individual challenges soon.

Side note: It was completely obvious about halfway through the episode that Chris was going home. This was the first time he'd ever been shown saying more than two sentences. I would have been willing to bet a ton of money that he was the one getting eliminated.

The awesome villain status of George Reinas can't be overlooked.

Jay Lim and George Renias make this season way better then last years.

George owns.

The connect 4 strategy made by people in this episode was just baffling at times.

I think it was red team who had a shot, where the vertical column was like:

Blank
Blank
Red
Red
Blank
Blue

And of course they aim for the bottom blank. HURRR.
