Theoretically this show should be able to do 5+ seasons easy. The side love plots literally cut that time in half. Aarson Sorkin with episodes that basically write themselves should be a slam dunk. Netflix should pick this up.

All,

I also think Jim's new gf Hallie (who apparently works at ACN now) is pretty hot, but understand people disagreeing with that.

Anyway, fun fact I learned today - her mom is Meryl Streep!

Kelen Coleman is tied with Sloan for the lead for me.

But I don't think she's on the show anymore. Maybe a bit part in the finale when Maggie (blond girl?) succeeds and wants to make up with her.

Agreed.

After Lisa's debut in the "I'll Try To Fix You" episode, Kelen had something up on Twitter to the effect of "my male followers quadrupled after Newsroom last night".

She's the reason I've been watching The McCarthy's. I had no intention of watching it, but I gotta support my girl.

Lisa fans,

You guys are crazy preferring the cute chunky chick over all the other way hotter ones!

You can tell her mom is Meryl. I've always liked her, she has the innocent girl next door look smashed. Has a small part on this season's American Horror Story as well.

Might I say series best?

Since this is Sorkin's last season of TV ever, so he says, he's aiming high. And so far, he's succeeding.

Have to say this episode proves me right. My main critique of the show was that the show suffers greatly from the sort of "I told you so" episodes where they fantasy redo big stories. This show succeeds when it rips stories from the headlines and puts a twist on it. Nailing real stories two years after the fact is just obnoxious if that's the bread and butter of the show.

Good episode tho.

Except Sloan Sabbithth is Jesus Christ an awful awful awful actress.

Enjoying the hell out of this season so far.

Can't understand any major critiques, think its been two A+ episodes so far.

As a major critic of the show, I think the two episodes have been quite good, mostly because they have been free of the "told you so" journalistic critiques and full of original fake news stories. There can't be a multi-episode arc involving a real story which limits the show if it's mostly focused on real news stories, like the first two seasons.

Loved it. And what's wrong with Olivia Munn? She's awesome and so is her character.

Jane Fonda was great.

Also, I think this the first episode in series history where a date wasn't typed at the bottom of the screen (did I miss it somehow?)

Presumably, this whole episode took place on Saturday, April 20, 2013.

Maggie was looking really hot in this ep imo

Sloan too obviously

Don't like streeps daughters character, even though it's a pretty good representation of how some young libtard social mediatard would be. Her face just bothers me.

Yeah I have to agree the Sloan/Don scenes were brutal in this ep. I actually thought this ep was significantly worse than the previous one.

Going through all that FBI stuff over a pretty meaningless story that no one would actually care about for more than a few days and that wouldn't change anything at all seems bad.

I also think the takeover plot got kind of sloppy. That was really their plan? I guess it will be interesting to see how they raise the money.

Doesn't really make a whole lot of sense that they were going to get an enormous stake in a huge publicly traded company and nobody cared until Sloan figured it out.

Their birthdays were something the board would have been planning for years and years.
