Girl is trailing by like 2x to both guys.
Bets it all, $5,700, on last DD and gets it and rallies up to $16,000.

I mean there's 4 wild card spots, but still, is $16,000 enough to just punt FJ

There are plenty of non-binary reasonable wagers in that spot.

All I did was ask a question.

But what defines a "reasonable wager"? That's subjective, which for the purpose of this thread is useless. So, depending on one factor only, there are exactly two perfect wagers in this scenario.

And for what it's worth, I refuse to fault a kid for wagering.

Tonight tested your resolve. Scores are 19200, 17200, 5000. FJ is a triple stumper, and the girl bets all 17200. Instead of at least $25,000 with a shot at $100,000, she walks away with I believe $5,000 for third. Maybe $10,000. Winner couldn't believe how lucky he was.

That was another reason the winner was lucky, but can't really blame the kid when he shouldn't have had a chance if second's wager made sense.

Meh, always consider the possibility of there all-in suicide wager from 2nd. Happens at some frequency.

So this was Thursday nights? Not watching the teen tourney but may have that one on dvr still.

Teen jeopardy final was pretty fun. Think you could do that math in 30 seconds to add your opponents 2 scores plus everything wager and your yesterday score + your today score +1. I'm 50/50 at best. Good for the kid.

How was he not able to do the math...

This Justin guy feels like he could go on a long run, seems good at all areas. He crushed the sports category, wouldn't have guessed that based on engineer and trying to save a language, etc

Couldn't catch him, but he needed to at least bet to get within two-thirds, which I believe was 4k. Instead, his biggest concern was staying ahead of third.
