Onion News Empire is great. It's a pretty direct spoof of Newsroom, but Newsroom isn't absolutely necessary viewing to enjoy it. It has George Bluth Sr in a big roll, so obviously it brings the funny.

Those Who Can't is essentially Always Sunny, but the main characters are three degenerate high school teachers. So, yeah, it's solid slapstick, dick joke humor. Def worth watching the pilot.

And by far the best of the bunch is Alpha House. Starring John Goodman and some other notables. It's like early seasons of Entourage, before it sucked, but the characters are jaded republican congressmen instead of Hollywood insiders. So, yeah, this one seems really promising...

Doesn't really belong anywhere else but the L&L section, but since it's all TV show intros, I think it can go here.

Regardless, it's freaking awesome:

What does everyone think of Daym Drops (of Youtube) getting his own show on the Travel Channel?

http://www.travelchannel.com/tv-show...-daym-take-out

I personally find this dude a try-hard and not particularly funny at all. In fact, he seems obnoxious.

I did love the autotune of his 5 Guys review though, but that has more to do with the people who made it. Incredible that Travel Channel gave him his own show. Here's a description of it:

Quote:
Daymon Patterson is not your typical food critic. At 6'5" and 390 pounds, he's a lot of man with a lot of love -- for food and comedy! A certified internet star with tens of millions of views on his "Daym Drops" YouTube channel, this instantly-relatable food lover delivers bite-size commentary with larger-than-life personality on every kind of take-out food imaginable -- not from a table or a bar, but from the place we love eating it best: the driver's seat!
And here's a video in case someone doesn't know who this guy is:

Agents of SHIELD officially picked up

Sci Fi fans get all the holiday wishes rolled into one

**** knows how Coulson and his team will work as a show minus the actual superheroes of Avengers, but if anyone can make it work Whedon will.

Has anyone seen the 'United States of Television' ?

A new four part documentary from the BBC about the history of prime time tv in the US. Not sure if it is on over there but is available on Iplayer etc.

Amazingly good, with interviews with everyone who has ever made a good show. Anyone who reads this forum would love it

Starting up the 2nd part now. It's as good as you said. Has just about everything I'd want from a doc like this.

I know. I was not happy with that show. It's Christopher Guest, so I'll give another episode to grab me, but I expected nothing short of really good and ended up really annoyed.

Not got round to watching it yet as it's quite long. Here's the blurb.
Quote:
Alan Yentob presents the second film in a star-studded series that explores the social history of America through the prism of primetime television. When America sits down to watch primetime television it expects to see more than stereotypes and stock characters going through the motions. Primetime viewers want to see the United States of Television - in all its individuality, diversity, eccentricity and quirkiness.

That's how some of the most high-risk characters in the primetime crowd are born. These are the awkward squad - the ones who can't, or won't, or aren't allowed to fit in: nerds, geeks, freaks, rebels, outsiders and misfits. Characters like Gomez Addams in The Addams Family, Louie DePalma in Taxi, George Costanza in Seinfeld and practically the whole cast of Glee. But though they may march to a different drummer, in primetime they become 'one of us' - and we, whether we like it not, become one of them.

Featuring interviews with stars, creators, writers and producers including Judd Apatow (Freaks and Geeks), Danny DeVito (Taxi), Garry Shandling (The Larry Sanders Show), Jason Alexander (Seinfeld) and the crown-prince of misfits, Larry David.

Basically the beginning of TV. It's not chronological but they go all the way back to the 50's and up to current times.
