Because Dexter doesn't kill in places where he could be disturbed. They knew little to nothing about Alex, maybe he has soccer night every thursday night and people would be knocking on his door.

Dexter's smart. I assumed he realized that since the cops were on to Cole and Boyd, that they'd find Alex pretty quickly too and didn't want to risk it.

I don't see how you can hate this scene for being unlike anything we've seen before.

If anything, you can resent the fact that we've seen it before.

Nope, it's better than season 3 for sure. Depending on the ending I like it more than 4 as well (everyone always forgets how mediocre it was due to Lithgow owning)

lol we've been over this. Show has never been realistic, not even close. Chase is no less farfetched than Trinty or Prado or even the Ice Truck Killer. In all likelihood you were just able to look past it on those seasons cause you were enjoying the show more, which is fine but it's silly to start complaining in season 5 like "you know, I don't think this could happen in reality!"

I don't like Deb, but I think she's clearly less annoying now then at any Anton related time.

I think its way better than season 3 and kinda close to s4 but I didnt like s4 as much as most ppl. Despte the start of this season blowing, where we are right now in this season I haven't enjoyed the show this much since s2

The Miami PD or at least Quinn and Deb need to put some fingers to Dexter and Lumen soon or else the incompetence will become a big plot hole.

I hoping we get sort of a batman & batgirl & robin type thing going on for next season. Deb and Quinn are a happy couple cool with Dexter dishing out vigilante justice. Turns out Quinn has inherited Bruce Wayne type money.

my predicition without reading this weeks responses and not knowing any spoiler info at all:


liddy goes to quinn with the "he's teaching her to kill video" quinn figures out they are the vigilantes, but tells liddy to stfu because of these reasons:

1. dexter turned a blind eye to the money thing
2. doesn't want deb to be hurt

so liddy ends up going over his head, and quinn either gives dexter a heads up or something.

there are 5 guys, 4 guys and chase. 4 guys that can put him in jail for life or death row. 3 of those guys are dead. if the 4th guy dies, and there isn't dna, he's not going to jail for life.


using dexter seems like a nice way to tie up a loose end.

i saw it mentioned earlier, but aren't we to assume that Robocop followed Dexter/Lumen to the kill house and then watched them take bags out of the house, and then took those bags to the pier, and came back from the water sans bags?

I mean, i'm no PI, but that's what I would do. He doesn't have audio or video inside of alex's house, but he sure can just drive his car and take pictures like he did before.

I think the resolution of season 5 five is going to make or break whether it's going to land right in the middle of the pack or be just ahead of three. I still haven't decided if I want Lumen for another season. It's pretty cute to see someone he can open up with and be completely himself but it's too good to be true. I can see some sort of mangled finale where after she takes out Chase and/or Robocop, Quinn and Deb catch Lumen and Id her as the 13th victim. Quinn figures Dexter was helping her out of grief and resentment over Rita's death to help his guilt. Quinn offers Dexter a deal to be quiet about his relationship with Lumen if Dexter lets him stay with Deb and not bring up the money grabbing from crime scene.
