You forgot rule #1.

Like a couple people have said, my enjoyment of this season lingers on the finale.

If everything is wrapped up nicely like S1, I'm gonna be annoyed. If there's a huge gamechanger a la S4, I'll be satisfied.

Unlike a lot of people, I like the whole Lumen relationship story. For the first time in his life, Dexter has found someone (other than dad) that he can show his real self to and she's someone that it looks like he's fallen in love with. He loved Rita, but in a different way. It's different with Lumen. Yada yada yada, I think it's interesting.

The two things that are bugging me:

1) Dexter knows the cops have their shoe prints. Ditch the shoes!

2) Assuming he and Lumen end up in a long term relationship (obviously they might not), she's going to have to come up with an explanation for the scars on her back. If they get out of their whole predicament cleanly and start dating, get married, whatever, someone is bound to see her back. One of the likeliest is Deb, who would probably immediately think, "Thin, young blonde...horrible back scars...came out of nowhere...there's a missing 13th barrel victim..."

I was just about to bring this up. The shoe print has to play a bigger deal in the finale right? Maybe Deb goes to his apartment and notices his shoes match or somethin.

Very good episode, excited for the finale.
Did you lose your remote or something?

great ep, this show sure knows how to close strong. Maybe they should just switch 8 ep seasons from now on, skip the boring bits.

Cover it with an awesome full-back tattoo? Masuka has a hook-up in the tattoo community.

I thought it was pretty clear that the blood on his shoe is going to implicate Quinn. Not sure if that means he's going to be off the show or if he'll get out of it, but he's definitely in trouble. And he can't really cry Dexter anymore because of the Deb thing and because he has no alibi -- he was there. And there's no evidence (anymore) that Dexter was.

BTW, I've never loved Quinn as an actor but I thought he did a really nice job in that conversation with Deb. Talking about how she's like a guy in that she doesn't play games and says what she means with appropriate profanity. A good moment for him; almost played it like this was his swan song of a season.

I guess I missed the point of the blood. At the time I thought he'd notice the blood later and that it would just resurrect his suspicions of Dexter after Liddy just disappears but you're all saying it's going to implicate him which makes sense too.

I think Quinn's going to put it together but take the fall for Dexter because of his feelings for Deb and guilt from his involvement in it.

Mrs. Dentist: I never knew my husband was gay!

Det. Morgan: Actually, that was a setup. He is a heterosexual rapist/murderer.

Mrs. Dentist: Cool thanks.

Remember when Dexter would kill evil people that the city couldn't get enough evidence legally to prosecute? Now he purposefully impedes police investigations so he can kill them before they can be sent to jail.

Code is long out the window

Did Dexter have time to clean everything in the van (he was in a rush)? Another thing I don't get is he never wears hair net...isn't there a chance he could have a loose hair in one of his murders?

he already had his gloves on when he was attacked.

hair thing is something that you just have to ignore for the sake of television

He will be ruled out on a lot of trace evidence due to cross contamination working in the lab and the fact he will be processing the scene himself.

lol no, I watch it on the monitor hooked up to my laptop.. Dont have a remote for that

re:blood on Quinn's shoe

This could obviously be some forshadowing (remember Rita's wedding dress) but I think it's a bit of a stretch that they'll check Quinn's shoe for blood within the next episode, even if they connect him to Liddy... It's possible, I still doubt it'll happen.

I'm not sure about this. It struck me as incredibly dumb that Dexter tossed the laptop/camera into the water 10 feet away from the dead ex-cop in a surveillance van. I could definitely see him having to figure a way to destroy this stuff at the station next week before the computer experts can get any data fragments from it.
