I am discussing, if you dont like it, ignore me or read over it, it's a god damn message board.

Let's just agree that people suspend their disbelief varying amounts while watching TV. I for one gave BB more disbelief "rope" after the season 2 finale. So I wasn't like ZOMG this unrealistic yet highly entertaining shoot out ruined this episode for me.

If this happened in say, Mad Men, then maybe it could have seriously damaged the episode, but BB has proved that it can swerve outside of the presupposed realm of believability.

Time to tard up this thread in other ways.

I was thinking today that the thing that made the 1st 2 season's great in particular (not that this one has been bad)was watching Walt and Jessie get in over their heads and then have to deal with the consequences. However as things stand right now, they are kind of at a dead end street as far as advancing their careers as drug makers/ distributors.

One thing that would COMPLETELY shake things up is if the cartel kills Gus for allowing the cousins to go after Hank. ( There was a reason we were shown Salamanca's dislike for Gus last week.) If this happens there is a huge power void which Walt will be in position to try to fill. There will be other contenders obviously, like his now former lab partner, among others, but Walt has the advantage of making the best product around and with access to Gus' resources he can also put out the most volume, and the muscle willl go to whoever can pay the most money.

If he just went to get the axe silently, I would just assume he was being a badass or ran out of bullets maybe, but when he said to himself "too easy" when he usually doesn't even say anything to other ppl, it ruined it for me and actually made me lol.
05-08-2010 , 01:02 AM
When he said too easy and started walking I thought he was gonna just let him bleed to death not grab the axe.

Where did the shoot out happen? I thought he was in the parking lot of the DEA office but they so obviously would have been swarmed with agents in a second that I must have missed him driving somewhere else. Did he drive somewhere to get his wife flowers then was attacked? If the attack happened right in front of the big DEA office then that's totally ******ed, especially with the dude strolling around with an axe like he has all the time in the world and there isn't a building full of gun carrying peace officers 20 feet away. Please tell me I missed something and the shows writing wasn't this stupid.
05-08-2010 , 01:19 AM
PoP, he went to walmart or some other place to buy flowers for his wife.

This was my point, with out that line, I think the whole scene is fine. Thats the only thing that ruined it for me.

i agree with Spurious that a psychotic mexican drug-thug on a blood vendetta over the death of his cousin and serious injury of his brother just seconds earlier would not choose to use the axe originally intended to be used on walt for the very same reason (it is unlikely this is their signature) instead of quickly ending the life of the suffering hank he knows killed his family (which probably "isn't everything" to this thug) and that such an occurrence is the absolute strangest and most unbelievable thing in the history of events that have transpired in the real world as we know it, let alone on nighttime teledrama.

also, guyz, that same thug would never issue a verbal taunt to a dying hank in a language he can't understand anyway, because that thug isn't a known medium for dark comedy

Makes sense with the Don referring to him (albeit probably sarcastically) as "The Generalissimo" in the flashback. I wouldn't be surprised if something like this is the case-- which has a lot to do with why the Cartel probably won't kill Gus anytime soon; he is, I believe, going to reveal himself to be even more powerful/influential than we think he is now.

I think that the DEA believes Hank was following him on a wild goose chance for no reason as there was no solid evidence linking him to Heisenberg. I doubt Jesse gets any heat after this unless Hank is healthy and back to active duty.
Yeah, remember his supervisor telling him that Pinkman tested completely clean. There's a good chance the DEA is currently actively leaving Jesse the hell alone.
