I see Gregory is officially out for the game on sunday. Interested to see how Wilson will do in the starting role. Will be a pretty good test for him considering the opposing QB.

As for Hernandez. Thats 2 practices in a row. I dont know if he plays on sunday. Would obviously love to see him back, but dont want them to rush him and risk re-aggrivating the injury.

Heard on the radio today that they're looking to a week from Sunday.

Yeah that definately seems like a better decision. I wouldnt be suprised if having him questionable this weeks is just a bit of gamesmanship, making Denver prepare for him possibly playing.

The Offense has had time to adjust to not having Hernandez so im not to worried about it now. This is basically the same D that brady shredded twice last year so i expect him to do the same again.

Hopefully the D steps up and isnt equally shredded by Manning.

It's pretty frustrating to watch this team go through stretches of sheer flawlessness, and then to follow it up with ineptitude. I'm happy with the win. I think overall they played really well, but after like three straight series of 14 play 80 yard drives, I expect them to do it every single time. I am a spoiled brat.

They need to start running up the score. I say this because for 3 quarters of the game they move the ball at will but when they try and run the clock at the end they seem to struggle.

Just go out there and put up 7 points. I dont think there is a team that can go score for score with them so they should just finish teams and keep puttin up 7.

Yes i like BBV Post Rater am spoiled.

Yeah I mean keep in mind most teams probably dont average one long drive like that a game.

Would have been sweet to cap off a 98 yard drive though.

Anyone know when Edelman will be back? Hes like a spark plug for us sometimes. Would be nice to see him back on the field every now and then.

The difference is I think it's a combo of variance and lack of execution. I get the impression you think they are playing way conservative and basically letting them back in the game on purpose.

Just want to mention despite a limited role yesterday Woodhead looked great. He seemed to have that quickness from two years ago back again.

I love Edelman because he rustles a lot of jimmies in the SE gameday threads. Makes the haters furious.

Don't get me wrong. I don't have a problem with Edelmen in a limited role, just don't want him featured over Wekler.

Wekler is great, but our super bowl memories of him are in stark contrast to the good times--like back when Varitek split the uprights.

For those of you outside of Mass who don't have the pleasure of the great oratory of Mumbles Menino.

I remember reading one Mock Draft that had the Pats taking Alfonso Dennard with the 31st pick. I think that would have been a reach as the pats ended up picking him up with a late round pick (obviously the police incident had alot to do with that). I was fairly encouraged by his debut. I think one of his pass break-ups on 3rd down was luck more than anythin as he just seemed to end up where the ball was thrown, but late in the game Manning attacked him fairly deep 2 plays in a row and he covered Decker pretty well and broke up the plays.

Im a big fan of Sterling Moore too, He might not have the best talent but the guy never gives up and has an ability to make plays. He had a few Picks last year (think 1 was a pick 6), the big play against the Ravens in the endzone to save the game/season for them, and did get a strip in the superbowl that was called back for too many men. That play with Thomas was the same yesterday, he got beat but didnt give up and knocked the ball out and saved them going down by 7 which was pretty huge.

I swear I'm starting to lose interest in the NFL. Every play is a pass, and all that the defenders are allowed to do is to try to be near the receiver when he catches the ball and bring him down immediately. Your front four better get to the QB, because your back seven are wearing handcuffs.

We ran the ball 7,000 times yesterday how can you say that?

I haven't seen too much Patriots this year, the only NFL I've been watching is glimpses of SNF and MNF while at work.

BTW, great piece in the Globe this week about the Pats turbo-charging the no-huddle by using one-word play calls that convey formation, routes, snap count, etc. Inspired by Oregon's Chip Kelly.

Does anyone here care about the Spikes tweets? I actually thought it was pretty funny and I can't imagine people being offended but a guy at my work was super butt hurt about it.

What's everyone think?

I dont have a problem with it. Thought it was pretty funny when i read it 1st. Then thinking about it more and how people might take offense i was even more convinced it was obviously a joke that people were over-reacting to.

The tweet itself says "I have nothing against homosexuals" so its not like hes bashing them. So now is it some kind of hate crime to scream if you find one in ur shower?? Its a case of people taking everything too seriously. IMO people wouldnt even be that offended if it wasnt on the news basically trying to convince people they should find it offensive.

that tweet is hilarious. that being said, you're an nfl player scrutinized by a ton of people, and you represent an organization. gotta be smarter about what you say.
