Also I'm not sure I would expect to do too much after the game. It will be late and it take a looooong time to actually get out of the stadium, to your car, and through traffic. Best bet is really a post game tailgate with your buddies at your car for at least an hour or so
Thanks for the info.

We are booked into Boston, but after doing some research, it looks like the last train going from Foxboro -> Boston on Saturday leaves at 10:55. I'm guessing the game itself will end at 11 or 11:30. Are there any other options re: public transportation back to Boston or are we SOL?

The commuter rail should leave a half hour after the game ends. Just search for Commuter rail Patriots and you should find it.

I took it last year for a Monday night game. Then there should be plenty to do in Boston late night.

Where are your seats?

I had forgotten that the negativity ITT is nothing new. Found this old post last night while searching for something else:

Quote:
I'm living in Bizarro World. You guys keep listing all the Patriots' deficiencies...

...and the Patriots keep winning every game handily. HANDILY! Every game! None of them have been close. I don't mean the margin on the scoreboard, I mean: there was no doubt in any one of those games who was the better team, or who was going to win the game.
This was posted (by me) in January '08, after beating Jacksonville in the playoffs and extending their season record to 17-0.

Thanks. Section 328.

It says that there is a capacity on the train of 1800, and you have to reserve. I saw nothing about purchasing the tickets online. Are these trains usually fully booked before game day, and I won't be able to get 4 tickets? Or are there more than one "football" train going back to Boston?

Actually can't remember if I bought the tickets ahead of time or not. I don't remember having any issue with buying them though or getting on the train going down or coming back. The train was definitely packed though.

Do you guys know if you can reserve train tickets to Boston over the phone or online?

Also the chances of getting on the train buying a ticket the day of.

I'm coming up from Canada and this is our first football game. Much appreciated fellas.

I don't live there any more, so I can't help you with logistics, but I CAN help you with directions:

In New England, up = north and down = south. You're coming DOWN from Canada. Nobody goes down to Maine or up to Rhode Island.

Also, if you want to be Old School, you can make the "to" optional. So have a safe trip going back up Canada!

I've taken the train in from Boston twice (maybe thrice), and both times my friend found women of questionable attractiveness at the game to give us a ride home. Actually, one of the times we ended up in Providence. But anyways, I think we had no trouble buying tickets the day off the game (one of which was an AFC CG,) missed kickoff both times, and enjoyed road sodas on the way in.

What train are you looking at taking....you are coming from canada ....so are you going to drive a distance then be taking a commuter rail? FWIW the game isn't in boston it's in the burbs bout 30 miles south.....you can take the commuter rail from Boston to Foxboro, tickets are easy to get you just grab them at station.

We're looking at the MBTA train from Foxboro to Boston.

Our issue is whether there will be enough tickets for us to get back after the game. Apparently they are available up to 2 weeks before and cannot be purchased over the phone/online. You think we'll be fine?

The reports on Mankins trickling out of yesterday's practice don't sound promising. They're saying he was hobbling around with a noticeable limp.

I think you should be alright. If I remember correctly, you buy a round trip so you should be alright for the way back.

Did you see anything about Vollmer? I heard he was back at practice this week.

I heard only what you heard - that he was back in practice.

Early in the week there was speculation that Mankins would play for sure, and Vollmer was doubtful - but that was based on the reporter making assumptions since "Mankins was Mankins" and Vollmer has been out a lot longer.

Mankins was available to the media though, which is generally a good sign someone may be able to go. Here's to hoping he can. We have 3 starters back in the lineup that didnt play last time we played the Broncos (Chung/Spikes/Branch) and Mankins sounds like the only one who may not start who did.

Anybody catch mayor mumbles talking about the Pats? He's the gift that keeps on giving for Boston sports fans imo!

I did see that. He said some ******edness about the Pats being a team and not just one guy and I honestly couldn't even understand the last part of what he said. It just kinda trailed off into mumbles.

He's fantastic. Just a joke of a man.

what are some realistic expectations from everyone for the game tomorrow? I definitely think the pats will win, just a matter of how much it will be by.

I don't think 42-7 or something along those lines is out of the question. Tebow shredded the Steelers D (very injury plagued) but I know BB won't allow that to happen. The perk of having the GOAT coach & QB.

I think it's going to be Pats 41-20 or something like that. But honestly nothing would shock me.
