Good to get that win, almost blew a 14pt 2nd half lead.
I missed the game on tv, but listened to the end on the radio. Al Horton was bitching about the refs too. I turned on the post game show and Kevin Lynch was bitching about the refs, then Jim Peterson was. After seeing the highlights, I can see why everyone was complaining. Ridiculous. If you're going to call ticky-tack stuff, you need to call it the same both ways. Those refs should be fined. Its lucky that we won that game.

Not many. KG was one of the best defensive players of all time. He was excellent on defense at Towns' current age. We might be spoiled having seen the prime of KG's career. Towns will likely never be that good defensively. Hopefully he improves a lot though, because he's pretty terrible at it most of the time right now.

Was KLove's 3 against the Clippers in a tie game?

KAT's game winner vs Portland last year happened with 0.2 seconds on the clock so it doesn't count. 0.3 seconds on the clock for Ricky vs OKC so that doesn't count either.

The defense

Teams are making less of their layups, 3's and FT's and the number of FTA we are giving the other team has dropped by about 4 a game.

Opposing teams TS% has dropped by just under 2% due to these.

Pace has dropped by a bit over a possession a game as well

These are too small a sample size to mean anything but are fun.

Opposing teams 3pt% after an offensive rebound has dropped by 45%, by 19% after a Wolves foul and by 26% after a timeout

My eye test and gut says we are actually playing defense slightly more consistently than we had been, but there are still way too many breakdowns and easy shots for the opponents. We have a lot of room for improvement.

If the giving up 4 less FT a game is a real thing then that is worth about a point a game.

I mean it is a real thing as it is happening but is it random or because they have learned not to foul as much

Rush filling in for LaVine definitely helped with the defense.

That's true, but that was only, what, two games?

The starting lineup are 7pts/100 better defensively in the second period compared to the first..

The Wolves big 3 of Rubio/Dieng/KAT are 9/100 better.

Pacers seemingly hit EVERY tough shot to finish the game...really frustrating.

IND played pretty tough D for a lot of the game too. They looked better than their record last night.

Apparently we are not giving up free throws and not giving up ORebs. We haven't improved much at opponent's FG% or forcing turnovers unfortunately.

Right? The whole game really. We'd play great D and they'd get to the point where they'd have to chuck a prayer to avoid the 24s violation and they drilled the prayer over and over.

7-3 in the last 10, have gained 0 games on the Nuggs despite beating them in that stretch.
