Been a pretty bad 5 years.
If you're that invested, maybe you ought to consider becoming one of those front-running fans. You know, pick a team that always wins and cheer for them. Change as needed. Alabama football, Duke or Kentucky basketball, the Patriots, Golden State, whichever other team is stacked for the year.

Give up on the LOLions, they're always going to suck. The Tigers are going to be horrible for years to come. LOL spuds goes without saying.

It really hasn't been that bad as a Michigan fan. Sure the hockey team has sucked but Mel is bringing them back. In basketball we made the national championship game, an elite 8 and a Sweet 16 in the last 5 years. In football the first 2 of the five years were a disaster, of course, but Harbaugh has things on track. I know you're a glass-half-empty kind of guy but we were incredibly close to being a playoff team last year, in year 2 of Harbaugh. The schedule next year is brutal but we'll have a good team.

Good luck hipster, it's too bad life (and by life I mean foootball) isn't like video games and you just start a new season once you lose once.

Dude, if we actually unlock the swag how can any of us not put something on a national title prop. Like none of us really have a choice on this assuming we care about money and our families.

Okay now I’m actively pulling for Patterson to go somewhere else.

Yes because betting sports is a sure fire way to make money. That’s why all the bookies I know can afford to play whatever stakes poker games despite none of them being winning poker players.

Just don't put too much self-worth and value into sports.

Its just not worth it, more important things going on in the world.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you're in the your early 20s. You take deep pride and find great meaning in fleecing the pockets of other degens and you think you're really clever for never knowingly making -EV bets yourself. If given the chance you'd probably also tell me how I can take that $200 I just blew getting a baby oil hj at a massage parlor and double it in 10 years if I simply invested it in an S&P 500 index fund. Honestly I envy you for the same reason I envy my grandma for truly believing she'll see her parents and late husband someday again in heaven. To find meaning where there is none. That's what makes us human.

Unfortunately I got shafted on this account. I look around on this miserable, depressing, dying planet--a place so hopeless and despicable that you actually need to possess a permit to feed hungry people--and think to myself **** it lets just chase cheep thrills til I die, i mean geologically speaking it's basically been game over humanity since the agricultural revolution anyways so who cares amirite.

BTW, by the time you reach your 30s or maybe 40s (some people are slower than others), i.e. that moment when you proverbially look back and realize how obnoxious and inane your post is, you can pm me, come to Vegas and we can hang out and have a good time.

PS: If you're already in your 30s/40s then you're either one of those extremely dull dbags that I wholeheartedly despise or you're on the spectrum like Harbaugh and take everything literally. In either case it's probably best we never hang out.

There was a good podcast on the agricultural revolution. On 50 things that made the modern economy podcast

The Plow

His hypothesis was that the plow made everything possible.

His question, knowing what we know now. If there is nuclear holocaust and knowledge was all forgotten. Would we go down the same road with inventing the plow.

Probably

Back on topic.

You say sports don’t matter

But life doesn’t matter. Might as well have some fun yelling at cum dumpster qbs while we can.

**** the plow man. The defining characteristic of the agricultural revolution--which coincided with that mythical moment in time when a minority but critical mass of psychopathic parasites figured out that humans can now produce more than they need and thus could be "milked like cattle" to support a privileged class provided there was a sufficient apparatus of organized violence to keep them in their proper place (think advent of the state)--I.E. that defining characteristic which "made everything possible" was mass scale slavery. And for over 10K years up to this very day various pockets of courageous humans have been trying to break free from that mass slavery model and they have failed hard every single time. The most notable attempt in the last 100 years being the Spanish Revolution which has predictably been Orwelled out of existence (pun intended obv). And here's the kicker. Stopping global warming from destroying us (assuming perhaps naively that it isn't already too late) and breaking free from the slavery model are inextricably linked. Can't do one without the other. A slavery model built upon putting the profit and power needs of a special class ahead of the needs of the exploited "others", i.e. the general population, will never get the job done. So it's radical change in the way society functions, which will take nothing short of a socioeconomic revolution on a planetary scale, or game over humanity. You see why the agricultural revolution was the beginning of the end?

Exactly. The fact that there is now a real chance for us to be the runaway favorites to win the whole ****ing thing next year is just frosting. Very tasty frosting tho.

Clearly speculation but maybe Patterson is only planning on being here for one year?

If he is doesn't affect them much.

but yea ^

Is it confirmed Patterson doesn't have to sit out next year? If he has to sit Mi might not be his pick.

Not smart if McCaffery wants to transfer, he will burn a year bc he just redshirted, better just to stay at UM even if Shae comes and plays for 2 years. DM will be a RS Jr is he transfers or Shae stays 2 years. I guess he could transfer in the spring but that would be kind of stupid.
