Your grossly over-rating the difference between Denard and Sheridan. The odds of Denard getting hurt returning kickoffs to where he'd have to miss time at QB if he was needed is less then 5%, perhaps way less.

EV son, it's all about EV.

Ike, Denard gets hurt returning kickoffs and has to miss time at QB if he's needed less then 5% of the time. This is pretty simple...stop being stubborn.

So what. Accepting this reality doesn't help your case at all. Not that I can make a convincing case either. This is unresolvable.

lol ok...we disagree on this...but lets say your right.

True or False, denard gets hurt returning kicks and has to miss time at QB if needed less then 5% of the time

Why are you always crying? Since when is having a discussion about how to use our talent more effectively a bad thing?

It's unresolvable in the minds of two people here.

I bet you can't find a single instance of a 2nd string QB returning a kick in the last 20 years.

So what? Who cares if this is true? This has no bearing on the argument. IOW, ceding this point gets you no where so stop mentioning it.

This argument is fundamentally unresolvable. The participants have nothing to do with that fact.

Denard is probably the best athlete to be a 2nd string QB in the country in the past 20 seasons. How can you make a statement like this. Some of you are just plain dumb.

Yeah but the problem is those EV calculations will be built on intuitive assumptions. I'm sure it is +EV based on our assumptions, but I bet it will be -EV based on their assumptions. That's why this is unresolvable.

PS: I hate your avatar.

lol...obviously the assumption that it's +EV to let him return kicks is the better one

Maybe I missed something.. but I'm not sure what the problem with the timeout was. Delay of game happened than Rich Rod used a timeout. Michigan came back out with a deep man to field a short kick.

Unless you're talking about the one before 3rd down early in the drive. I like that one, he was trying to get the ball back. Defense just didn't make a play on 3rd down.

There is 22 seconds left and you have one timeout left in your pocket. Your defense gives up big plays left and right, you are down 6, and you get the ball back to start the second half. If Iowa was inside their 20 then I can see it but it seems like the right spot to let Iowa run out the clock and go to half.
