There's a report that QB Shavodrick Beaver has decommitted and is going to sign with Tulsa. If true...WTF?

Until I see this reported somewhere other than "tulsaworld.com..." I'm gonna assume it's false.

edit: Brian's got it too, but it's far from confirmed.

Now they have provided a quote from Beaver: “It’s about who you’re going to be with over the next four years,” Beaver said on Friday, adding that proximity played a big role. “I was impressed with how (the Tulsa coaches) carried themselves. They told me everything that was offered, and everything they said made sense.”

can't say i'm surprised, i guess...

if i'm a highly recruited QB, and there's another highly recruited QB going to the same school and already being annointed the saviour, i may be reconsidering too..

wtf!

at least if he doesn't want to be here he didn't come to here to start. Huge decision to make 3 weeks before you enroll

I read somewhere he may have had a kid on the way/considering marriage or something to that effect. I disregarded it as BS, but maybe true considering his choice of school. I mean Tulsa feels like a rash decision if I have ever heard one.

Alright, time to crack each other's heads open and feast on the goo inside.

Hopefully RRod can open the can of snake oil and pick off a QB from someone else. We really need another QB in this class. I have been following recruiting for about 15 years and I've never seen anything like the de-commits this year. When Newsome left, Forcier quickly took his spot. There has got to be a QB out there who will see this is an opportunity.

I'm not really sure what to say other than hopefully we'll grab another QB so we have more competition next year. I'm never going to rip on a really young kid for a decision like this, hope it works out for him.

I do admit I find it harder to get upset when it is Malzahn since I've been rooting for him to kick ass ever since the Arkansas debacle. Too bad it had to be at our expense.

If this is true then good luck to Beaver.

Tulsa is a sick, sick program and I wish him the best. That being said, time to get out the snake oil!

QFT

I hate to see him go but Tate's the future with or without Beaver, imo. Whether Beaver realized that or not, I don't know. Hopefully we can add another QB or someone like Denard Robinson or Travante Stallworth. If not, there's always next year.

Former Michigan d coordinator Ron English about to be named head coach of EMU, he deserves the chance!

Some seem to believe it was the way the Michigan coaches treated Beaver after his injury.

Too bad you guys have academic standards. I've seen Tyrik Rollison and that dude was in ****ing credible. A lot of the big schools are not recruiting him though because he's a terrible student. Hope he leaves the Big 12.

KSU or Okie St if I had to guess. Dez Bryant qualified and he was probably just as bad.

He'll be special if he ever makes it to campus.

per http://www.mgoblog.com:

"Before you ask: yes, TX QB Tyrik Rollison is a top-100 recruit to Rivals and is a dual threat quarterback floating around uncommitted—you may remember him as the QB who was Not Beaver in the Beaver game televised on ESPN2 this fall—but at last update he had an offer from Colorado State and maybe Baylor and definitely not Oklahoma State. What does this say? It says "very unlikely to qualify" in big flashing red letters. I'm hoping that's not the case and Michigan gets involved; that doesn't seem probable."

What are the odds that he's around next year, let alone three or four years from now when the kid is an upperclassman? Seems foolish to chose a school like Tulsa based on a single assistant coach, who knows what will happen to them when he leaves.
