dont really want Rolle, we have two decent safeties, and would only want to upgrade if we could get a top notch safety.
We need ILB, NT, TE,S and if we can make those positions strengths and not fill ins we can be really good.
I think one of the most overlooked positions that could make our offence really good would be to get a top notch receiving TE who is a decent blocker

Fasano is pretty good. I would much rather us secure Boldin than a TE.

ya i thought you guys were set with fasano and haynos. not elite TE's, but both are pretty solid and young

Fasano is a good blocking TE and an average receiving TE. I like him as a TE in our heavy sets when we have 2 TEs, but I think we need a better pass catching TE in those 3rd and 3 or 3rd and 5 formations/ someone who can run down the seam on 1st and 10/2nd and long out of our I sets

most of our receivers are possession receivers so the need for a great receiving tight end is less

but we really need a deep threat who can catch the ball

We need a qb who can throw the deep ball. Henne is ****ing terrible. For a guy with such a "cannon" as all the ******ed dolphin fans say, all he does is check down. He completed like 5 passes thrown >20 yards, talk about a franchise qb.

That paragraph is really damn stupid. You must be Poker Chief.

lol

he had nobody deep to throw it too

henne is the least of our offensive problems. if we get a guy like boldin, and he still doesnt throw deep then yah, but come on

He does throw deep, he just has no accuracy and no touch., which is why he doesn't complete anything. He was like 4 for 33 on passes thrown >20 yards (not counting the last two games because those numbers haven't been added in yet). Thigpen didn't suck in his one half of play this year throwing the deep ball, so you can't blame it on the receivers. Henne just sucks.

1) Henne was for all intents and purposes a rookie last year.
2) He was not the starter during the offseason and as such was not groomed to be the starter in the offseason.
3) Up until Ronnie Brown got injured he was in a situation no other QB has dealt with before where he's constantly yanked on and off the field for the wildcat, preventing him from developing a rhythm or feel for drives.. Whilst I love the wildcat, I definitely think its overuse could harm Hennes development.
4) He had Davone Bess and Gregg Camarillo and thats it. Those guys aren't even legit. They're both good slot receivers.

Onto your astounding deep ball analysis

1) As mentioned, the Fins have no deep threats at receiver
2) How many deep balls did you see Thigpen throw?

Also you had one half to see Thigpen and in that half he played alright for five minutes before throwing a lolbad pick (I think there was also a second later on) that cost us the game. He's not good

Finally, QB's worse than Henne that were starting in the league (team used where starter unclear)

Freeman
Stafford
Sanchez
Delhomme
Bills QB
Cleveland QB
Raiders QB
Hasselbeck
Bulger
Hill

Putting him 22nd among starting QBs (at worst, the Jason Campbell mini tier will be surpassed soon I think).

In short, you're wrong.

Let me guess AC, you think Ronnie Brown is a top 5 rb too, right. Take off your rose colored glasses, Henne isn't good. He will be a career backup, nothing more.

When healthy, brown is a top 10 running back

so popets bitterness extends beyond the jets and to his own team. interesting

ya the dolphins desperately need a vertical threat receiver. ginn could maybe develop it, but i question whether he has the hands or the bulk to win jump balls consistently. parcells loves the draft so id expect him to look for a receiver there

With the impending signing of Dansby and the release of Gibril does that mean we are going to draft a safety?

Please oh please trade our 1st, 3rd and 5th? to Lions to draft Berry and get Cody in the 2nd.

Quick FA update for the thread: Boldin signed with Ravens; Fins cut Ayodele, Porter, and Wilson; Dansby reportedly has/had meeting with Dolphins today.

Couple things from around the division (some good news, some bad): Wilfork will stay with Pats, but they missed on signing Peppers. Jets get Cromartie (sic? idk), who may get a fire lit under him by Ryan and make the Jets' backfield God-like, but let's hope that doesn't work out too well.

Still no signings by us though. Hopefully something big soon.

so with Dansby in and Wilson out I think our 1st 2 rounds go something like this:
1st- Earl Thomas S
2nd- Terrence Cody NT

I wouldn't mind someone who ends up a really good OLB in round 1, with Cody in round 2, and a safety in round 3 or even Myron Rolle in the 4th round. (how could you not want a Rhodes scholar on your team?

Too many injuries, if you ask me. Sometimes I hate thinking like that tho because players like Boldin and Polamalu get hurt because they play with so much heart, yet guys like Ginn run out of bounds and avoid contact and stay healthy. Then again, Ginn is probably out of the league in a couple years.

I'm starting to warm up to the idea of taking Dez Bryant actually, if he's still available. A safety works too though.

Soliai is really solid.... as a backup. In a 3-4 defense, you need something resembling Godzilla at NT.
