I think 3rd and 6 vs 4th and 1 is kind of close if you assume Harbaugh would correctly go for it on fourth down. But fat Mike would kick every time there, so is he really assuming Harbaugh would go for it? Either way, Fat Mike is fat and dumb.

And regarding the 49ers game, it would have been 4th and inches and they would probably have gone for it, so making it 3d and 6 was probably not the worst idea.

McCarthy would have kicked in that situation every. Single. Time.

There is a difference between running a fake on a 45 yd attempt and one that would be a long XP.

Oh and McCarthy's aggressiveness last year was almost wholly a function of having a placekicker who had full blown AIDS.

This team is shaping up a lot better than I thought it would. D-line seems very improved, Clay is back in beast mode. If the secondary can pull it together and LOL MCCARTHY can get out of everyone's way this could be special. Just please stay healthy everyone, especially o-line

I'm scared that Jolly won't last, but -- for now -- the DL of three legit DTs, Clay, Jones, and Perry are making covering up the ineptitude of AJ and that secondary. Shields with a legit nice game yesterday but everyone back there makes you facepalm a few times per game.

I think it's typical in that they're a decent team that digs holes for themselves. Any time you turn the ball over like that, you're gonna have problems, but any time every ball is a 50-50 ball when you're on defense, you can dig out of them. This isn't "every break goes their way"; they're assembled to give up yards in the act of trying to take the ball away and Cutler is a guy who can drop bombs on anyone, but also will get picked off by anyone.

The whole OL was put on their asses within two milliseconds of the ball getting snapped. Look at the play again and watch them all fall down immediately after the snap. It's pathetic! No one converts there. The sneak still requires the C and a G or two getting into the neutral zone.
