The fact that they announced it and then seemingly randomly took back the penalty, while Pereria was sitting there saying it's a PI just took it to a whole different level and gave credence to riggage claims although personally, I don't believe it's actually rigged. Looking back now, I'm much more upset about not flagging Dez for running on the field with no helmet on. I think if Suh did that, the internet would implode.
100% agree with all of this.

I am getting at least some solace from the fact that ESPN/the media never harp on bad calls, and everyone is lamenting the bad call this morning. ESPN has a video interview up with an ex-official who is as direct I've ever heard, saying things like "I have no explanation for why Dez didn't get a penalty, there can be no explanation," and "I have no idea why the line judge got involved when it is 100% obvious PI."

Just such a **** show - there was no reason for it to come down to that call. This is why nobody was high on the Lions all year. Should have stepped on Dallas' neck when they had a chance. Bungled up the entire 2nd half.

It's fair to say that the Lions themselves deserve most of the blame. I was thinking middle of the 2nd Q that it sure seemed like we had dominated the game, but the score wasn't showing it enough with just a two TD lead. Of course a couple minutes later it was a 1 TD lead.

The Lions play was atrocious on all of DAL's big plays. Levy has been so good all year, but I will see him bouncing off Dez Bryant on his 40 yard catch and run in my nightmares for years. It seemed like if we didn't hit Romo he always had someone wide-the-****-open 8-12 yards down field every single play. Caldwell punts on fourth and 1, Garret goes for it on 4th and 6 from the same spot of the field a minute later. Stafford throws a bad pass that makes a tough catch for Calvin on the final drive, which he drops. Lots to be disappointed with.

I do feel like the ball bounced DAL's way almost every time though. I feel in situations like Romo's fumble - QB loses the ball behind the line of scrimmage and can't recover himself - end up going to the defense like 75%+ of the time, but DAL recovered. Dez's fumble too has a good chance of getting to the DEF. Plus, the tipped ball ends up in DAL's hands, not DET's (although that ended up not mattering). So between that and the PI fiasco, plus the lack of holding on DAL's Oline... tough to pull out a win.

Disregard my earlier posts. I want this win.
I blame you TheHip, everything was going swimmingly until you let it be known you wanted the win... in all seriousness i'm probably 80% over the loss at this point, i was in a dark place last night after that loss

**** you Jeremy Ross, a shell of a bad Stefan Logan.. takes it out of the endzone and gets to what was it the 4 ****ing yard line?

**** you Sam Martin, bringing back memories of that epic punt against Cincy that pretty much set them up for a game winning drive

**** you Riley Reiff for completely falling apart in the last drive, (still love ya tho)

**** you Suh for your emotional press confrence, it kinda made me like you again and want you back as a Lion

**** you football Gods for blessing us with a great, great QB but never letting us catch the breaks

It was largely irrelevant because we got stroked anyway.

It got reviewed and it was STILL a TD. Most hilarious call ever.

The first time I read (and re-read) this I merged in my head the onside kick part with the TD/cross goal line in mid air part. All I could envision at first was some kind of NBA-jam-style leaping 40 yards downfield, then decided it must have been some crazy epic fumble-batted-ball situation. "Man, I gotta find this on youtube," I said to myself.

What annoyed me most was seeing that Brandon Carr was giving up 5-8 inches and 50 lbs or so to Megatron. Why didn't we throw it 100 times to Calvin? No way Carr could cover him.

Carr can't cover anyone. He only has that job because there's literally nobody else on the team to compete for it.

The QB has to be accurate enough to take advantage of this mismatch (think Brady to Gronk) and Stafford has shown time and again he cant do this consistently. Many of his INTs over the years are under/over throws to Calvin in coverage.

I can only imagine the numbers CJ could put up with a precision QB.

No doubt a more conservative Stafford helped cut down on INTs this year, but im not sure if it was worth the cost.

Watching Luck bomb the ball all over the place was disheartening.

Part of the problem with the offense (and again, some of this goes back to the offensive line) was that Caldwell's prime directive to Stafford was to limit turnovers. That by its nature means less bombs to Calvin.

League admitted Suh was held on 4th and 6:

It helps a little to hear it admitted, imo.

Pats LT scoring a TD reminded me of how Lombardi had a play where we had a OT lined up at WR and Warford running a route as an eligible receiver in the game @MN. Lombardi a ****ing trend setter

Points on the board.
