I'm Syko_21 from Pokerstars, formerly of Ladbrokes.com (formerly of Pokerstars). I imagine I might be wasting my time with this post, since I haven't been a member of this forum for very long, but here goes...

I've been playing poker for about 4 years now. I'm tight-aggressive. Somewhere in between Rock and Bomb, but I am very good at changing my style depending on the blinds, my stack and my opponents. I used to play both cash and tourneys, but I had a very expensive learning experience in cash games a couple of years ago, during which I was dealt AA 9 times in 24 hours on $1/2 NL 10 seaters, got my chips in ahead each time, and lost 8 of them. The 9th one my bet was uncalled. Since then I have given up online cash games (barring the odd micro game for practice) and focused on low/micro SnGs and MTTs.

I'm from London, but I went traveling for 4 months last year after a big win that allowed me to quit my dead-end door-repeatedly-slammed-on-foot CAD monkey job and see some of the world. Yes, I probably should have used the bankroll to build an even bigger one first, but it was a great time to be buying GBP with the $ I won so i cashed in and ran with it. Plus, you can't really put a price on the experiences I had when traveling. No regrets!

Anyway eventually my funds ran low, and I found myself in India with enough money for one plane ticket. Back to credit-crisis Britain to sign on and try to find another rubbish job, or SE Asia where I can live on a shoestring and get paid good money to teach English. I went for the latter. However, recently I had some severe health problems which lost me my jobs (I was part-time freelance, no contract) and left me bed-ridden for the good part of 2 months. I'm on the mend now. In the meantime I got really low on money. Ladbrokes put me in the ULTIMATE doom seat for a long time, and I eventually uninstalled their software and put $40 on Pokerstars.

In the 6 weeks since then I have turned that $40 into roughly $600 on micro-stakes SnGs and MTTs. However, I have had to withdraw most of it in order to pay rent, bills and living expenses. Then a couple of days ago I got the doom seat. It coincided with me upping my average buy-in, so it hurt pretty bad. If you look me up (Syko_21) on sharkscope (All Games) you'll see why I want staking so I can continue playing.

Other notable achievements to date (not in chronological order):

- Taking 4th place and $5,500 in Ladbrokes.com "The Daddy" $60k GTD
($320 buy-in, but I was in there on a freeroll, winning my seat in the weekly MTT leaderboard freeroll. Worth mentioning that I was 2nd of the last 5 when I got disconnected for 10 minutes, and got back just in time to see myself all in on the BB with A2o, flop an A and lose to J8 via a runner runner straight. Also worth mentioning I have a much better internet connection these days!)

- Finishing 3rd of almost 1000 players in a Pokerstars $5 rebuy (no rebuy used) for a cool $1800 in 2006. (The eventual winner broke my KK with A3 suited when I was the chip leader 3 handed, and he had the decency to send me $200 to make my prize up to $2,000).

- Finishing in 2nd place in the monthly World League of Poker Online (WLOP Online, now no longer running due to lack of site-sponsorship) This involved turning $200 into just under $800 on only $1-$10 MTTs. over the space of the month. August or September 2008, I can't remember which. The archived results should be out there if you want to check this.

- Finishing 11th in Ladbrokes Monthly MTT Leaderboard in 2007 - I forget which month... it was when the Weekly Leaderboard Freeroll had a $6k Poker Cruise Package for the winner, and 9x $600 final satellite seats for the rest of the top 10.
(I was 5th after 3 weeks, then got the doom seat in the final week. This doom spell also included getting my AA broken by KK backdoor flush after flopping my set in 2nd place against the chip leader, in the last 15 in the weekly leaderboard freeroll - extreme odds on to have a 2x chip lead over the entire field, and to be guaranteed a $600 final seat, and favorite to win the $6k package... instead I went out with nothing to show for it)

- Countless MTT wins of $100-$600 on Ladbrokes over the last few years. Never a full-time player for more than a month or 2 at a time, but always a winning player when I have been. I have a ~20 page document with 3 screenshots per page of my notable poker wins since leaving the UK. If you PM me I can send you this somehow (I might have to compress it because it's a pretty large document now).

- I don't play much live, but I have played a few tournaments and cash games at Triangle Casino in Bristol and Gutshot in London over the years. Yet to get a big live tourney win, but have made a modest profit overall from live tourneys and a HUGE profit (percentage-wise) in live cash games.

Anyway Ladbrokes has now gone down the proverbial pan, and Pokerstars have a much better selection of SnGs and MTTS anyway, so I want to stick it out there for awhile. Currently I can't really afford to play buy-ins over $2.20, and the doom seat led me to go right back to basics on the 10c and 25c SnGs last night. I played 12 tournaments with an average buy-in of roughly 20c last night, and got returns of roughly $14. Basically I OWN the micro-stakes now, but they're not really the way forward if I want to actually build rather than just maintain my bankroll (after overheads of roughly $500-600 per month to live comfortably here, including rent etc). So I really want to take a shot at the $5 and $10 SnGs without having to panic if I hit a downswing.

Something in the region of $500-$1000 is what I'm looking for, with perhaps a modest make-up percentage (I shouldn't ever be in make-up for very long, the way I play) and a fair split on profits.

If you're a genuine interested backer please PM me and we can talk strategy and deal details. I have friends who can vouch for my honour and integrity, as well as my ability to be a consistent tournament winner, and my OPR and Sharkscope data should speak for itself by now.

Also, I recently heard about the miniFTOPS which would be of interest to me if it's still running...

I look forward to hearing from you with any offers or questions.

Syko_21

p.s. I haven't worked out how to get pictures into a forum post yet, but I'm sure you know how to look up my data/graphs online for yourself. (It's annoying that OPR don't track the 18 and 27 games on Stars)
http://officialpokerrankings.com/pok...44BC7.html?t=9

... I see guys here with ROI under 10% looking for backing. I generally 2, 3 or 4 table and my ROI is consistently above 60% (and around 90% for the slow 90 seater SnGs) ... Has anyone actually got staked through this thread? It seems they just lock us away here so nobody has to bother reading us lol

Cash Coaching/Staking Project

Here I am offering someone who is a microstakes cash player or someone who is looking to make the transition to cash the chance to not only be staked but have a small amount of coaching from myself. I've never done any coaching before and it will only be HH reviews and sweat sessions, but I'm pretty sure with my help I can get anyone to crush up to 50nl. Everyone will start at 10nl though. The way this will work is you will have a floating bankroll of $150. This will be skimmed/topped off weekly. Any share of profit you have made over a months period will be sent to you via FTP or PS.

Accounts will be made on a Merge network site for you. This is for my own piece of mind as I can get withdrawls banned there so ppl can't roll me. Because of this, members with not much posting history may apply. I will hold the passwords to your accounts so i can I am looking for people willing to dedicate time to the stake. This is a very good deal as you will be getting my time to look trough hands and do sweat sessions with you for free. After I have enough applicants (more than 10), I will run mini rake races for my horses to encourage them to put in volume.

Here is my 100nl results since moving up last month playing 8 tables:

To apply for this stake you MUST have:

- a PT or HEM screenshot of at least breakeven poker at any stake or a sharkscope screenshot with at least 500 SNG's of at least break even poker
- Skype, MSN or AIM
- Teamviewer (free)
- Willing to put in at least 15k hands a month

Stakes would be played out for a months evaluation period. After that I would get the option to take you on for a further month, this would continue for 6 months, after this you will hopefully be up to 50nl. PM me with stats if interested

Winning SNG players may also apply to play SNG's

I'm hoping to find a stake for 6.50 45 man and 7/180 SNGs. I have an ok record, and I'm hoping to work out some sort of deal to give me a little bit of a safety net as I'd like to put in some volume playing 4-5 hrs a day. I'm quite comfortable 12-15 tabling.

I've been playing cards for a little over five years now. I got into PokerStars as a hobby a little after I started playing. I would put 50 bucks in, lose it, put 50 bucks in, lose it, et cetera, for a while until I decided it was no longer in my best interest to dump money away. About a year later, inspired by Chris Ferguson, I started reading 2+2, read some books; really tried to understand the game. I started playing freerolls, and after winning 20 cents in a tournament, over the course of six months or so I turned it into nearly $300. I bought PokerTracker, but had no idea how to use it (aside from making pretty graphs), and slowly started losing my concentration while playing. One day, and I'm unsure why the hell I'd do this, I busted at whatever table I was at, and decided to take a chance at the next higher stake. When I lost it there, I went one higher, and one higher and one higher... Until six months of work was undone.

It's been a little over a year since that episode, and the fire inside me for the game has been rekindled. So, what I'm looking for is a stake of $10 or less. I'm really interested in learning all the nuances of the game as well as understanding how to tame PokerTracker, and if someone could help me out here I'll double their investment.

now I see why people don't bother reading this thread.

Get a job until you can afford to play. You haven't proven to yourself, let alone a potential backer, that you have any chance of making him/her a profit. If you can do that and come up with graphs that go upwards, THEN think about asking for backing. lol

RE: my post above... My specific record in 90 seater games since I returned to Pokerstars is now:
FS:46-90 Prizes:$583 Profit:$301 ROI:107% ABI:$1.62 AFS:90
ITM:52/175 (30%) Ave. Finish: 11%/15%/33%/22%/20%

Syko_21: Invest in me while I still need you to, imo...

I'm not asking because I don't have a job, but because I was unable to get money onto PokerStars last time I tried. I can't make any graphs because I don't have any money. And I'm really just looking for a benevolent fellow who is willing to part with pocket change in order to give an aspiring player a chance, as well as possibly doubling their charitable contribution.

I'm not necessarily looking for a business deal with only the bottom line in mind, but for a sympathetic gesture that will more than likely result in a profit (even though it'd only be a few bucks) for the do-gooder.

If there's no takers: that's fine. But please don't act like I'm poisoning the well.

Hi guys new around here but I post on some other forums and was told if I was looking for a stake this was a good place to come. I have been playing alot of poker the last few months online and feel like I am about to break out. However I can no longer afford the downswings as I have to start working and saving money for the upcoming summer and fall semesters of school.

Why you should back me -
I feel as if I am trustworthy and think I play good poker (my game has improved drastically the last few months). I also would like to find a permanent backer for the remainder of atleast this year possibly beyond so I wont take off with your money. I have my AIM in my profile and am willing to discuss my thought process and specific hands during a tournament or sng if you want. I am available online throughout my playing time so I wont be hard to find.

What should you back me in -
Anything from $5.50 MTTs - $33 MTTs is the level I usually play at. I am comfortable with the play on these levels and would like to continue to play there until I am comfortable moving up. This includes satellites, Freezeouts, rebuys, shootouts, etc.

For SNGs I would say $3.80 Super Turbos+, $6.50 Turbos+

What % would I give to the backer -
I am flexible and would work out a deal with just about anyone. If its one tournament I would give about 65%-75% depending on the risk/buy-in. If for a group of tournements probably in the neighborhood of 50%, if its full backing for the rest of the year I would probably go right around 65%. But again I am flexible and will work on a deal with anybody offering something fair.

What time frame am I available to play -
Most nights after 9pm EST. Sometimes earlier depending on work/class schedule. PM me or AIM me if you are interested in backing me for anything. I also would include Make Up and keep spreadsheets.

Tournaments Id like to play tonight -
On FTP (DoYouLikeMyFro):
$35k Guaranteed @ 20:00 ($26)
Daily Doubles A & B @21:00 & 21:02 ($24 Total)
$6.50 Super Turbo KO @ 21:10 ($6.50)
$28k Guarentee @ 22:00 ($26)
$12.5k Guaranteed KO @ 23:00 ($26)
Midnight Madness @ 0:00 ($11)

On Stars (FroEWhiteKid):
$40k Guaranteed @ 20:00 ($27.50)
$15k Guaranteed @ 20:40 ($8.80)
$10k Guaranteed @ 21:15 ($11)

I also am open to discussing any and all other offers. Thanks for your time and consideration. AIM me (BornWithAFro) or PM me.

I see... could you elobarate on what exactly put you off? My narcisism? lol

Do you know any other people who regularly stake or are interested in a staking arrangement on Stars. I might be a bit of a noob on 2+2 and I know I've been a bit erratic/keen/hasty with my posting, but this does not reflect in my poker game. I think it just shows how serious I am about making a living from poker: trying to 2-table and compose a staking pitch at the same time (and forgetting some key details)... and making a right pig's ear of the post, but cashing in both tourneys. :P

In the next few weeks I will either no longer need backing (if I run well) or I will run out of funds (not by going bust, but by having to withdraw my BR because of my overheads if I run badly)... I know I'm incredibly back-able, and I would be willing to play within someone's strictly set staking/volume rules if I was playing with their money (unless they told me I had to 4-table+ because my edge is not about grinding volume it's about observation and patience, which gives me a huge edge over the grinders once we're on the FT - hence my ROI of 100%+ in the $2.20 90 seaters, and hence having more 1st and 2nd place finishes in them than any other single position, and ~40% mid-late + late finishes overall)

Another reason to back me is my table talk. I don't make many friends with it, but my 'verbal diarrhea' gets me so many good reads on opponents and allows me to manipulate/shape their play against me. A bit like Negreanu but the difference being I don't call big raises with junk like he does. It would also make me very marketable if/when I step up to play the major tourneys. I'm controversial, and probably often very dislikeable, but I'd much rather a few people loved my style and everyone else hated it (and wanted to make it personal against me = lowering their game), than if everyone thought I was a nice bloke.

I got a guy to call me all in with pocket 2s on the river a few days ago, even though my table stats were VP$IP: 18% PFR 7% AF:2.0 WSD:37% WSDW: 75% ... I had the nuts. I might talk like a drunken idiot but I never ever ever drink while playing.

Not that i want to get involved, -FishnCips-, but i believe backers prefer polite and solid people, i would for sure want to back a person that is calm, solid and polite rather than a "erratic/keen/hasty" player that might be more probable to run away with my money.

And you may only bump your post once every four days if you read the rules, so people might be upset about that too, that you post too much in this thread.

To everyone else, i have found a backer and i am no longer in need of staking. Thanks to the ones that took a interest in me. Best of luck to everyone seeking to be backed.

Syko_21 on Pokerstars:

(The first 200 or so games were a few years ago when I had no idea about bankroll management, the rest is since late March, with ABI starting at like 20c and now at roughly $2.20)

(around the 715 game mark I had to withdraw a large chunk of my BR and was on a losing streak so decided to go back to basics at the 10c and 25c games, now back on the $2.20 games though)

Hi as of this yr i have taken razz pretty seriously and have had some good results on razz cashtables that i have been playing at all yr(sorry cant post anything my trial for ST is finished and dont have credt card) and then had pretty decent results in the few razz tournys i have played: I have taken down a $10 a $5 and had numerous money finishes in the tournys. I also played my first larger buyin event for razz the $215 SCOOP razz in which i cashed in 83rd for. Then as of the past 2 weeks i have been playing a lot off razz HU SNG on FTP and my results are below (i made this br from a $5 transfer, its why the incline is greater as i have more $). My results for Razz HU has put me in 3 Stud HU leaderboards on sharkscope even though i only play $23 and $34 HU now doing up to 4 tables at at time(still hold $2 leaderboard and $11 and booming through $16-35). I just wanted to make the point that i believe i have quite a knack for razz and a few razz regulars were surprised that i don't play in the weekly $200 razz on stars (apparantly theres a lot of fish i should be making $ off). I am looking to get staked in a few of these tournys sometime in the future. I will post links and graphs below:

sida77 on ftp and stars. Stars i havent played in a while though and i really just played cashtable razz there with the occasional tourny. FTP i play cashtable razz and HU and occasional tourny

this is all 99% razz HU.

My SC graph for FTP SNG profits (its exactly same all HU razz):

ROI for different HU levels:

HU winning/losing streaks

U can also check my OPR results (check FTP i play there much more, razz will be considered as other games) and if u look through distributed details and filter it rightu can see my HU ROI of about 33% and win rates of roughly 70% (77% for $11) (69% for $22 and $34) and don't forget this is ussually doing 3-4 at a time too. For MTT it's pretty small profits of around $150 for FTP and $200 for Stars- I have only played about 40 games and this was all micro stakes except the SCOOP.

Pm or leave comment here if interested.

Edit: Just to be a little more clear i want to be staked for $215 Weekly Razz on pokerstars.

Looking for a staker in PLO8 FTOPS event today ( $200+$16 )

Not really a MTT player but I've cashed most of the time playing those PLO8 events on both PS and FTP . If you have played plo8 or nlo8 2-4 up to 10-20 on either of those sites in the last few years chances are high that we have met before .
I don't know how to check my MTT stats so I just got what I was able to which are my sit and go stats , most of those are $100 and $200 heads up plo8 and plo8 .

I will do pretty much any fair deal you want . I'm not going to run with your money and will give my best effort in the tournament . I have enough money in my accounts to buy into this tournament by myself but I don't do MTTs over $50 , even tho I have no problem playing 100 or 200 heads up sit and gos , sounds weird but this is my rule not to play anything above 50 dollars MTTs .

Hey all,

This is my first post regarding staking.

To be honest, I'm not sure exactly what stake I'm looking for, I'm probably most looking for some input from guys who are experienced in staking.

First, you can look me up (todd7286) on sharkscope for stars, pacific, and cake. I have pretty good graphs on all three, up over 1.5k on all 3

My first preference for staking would be live at harrah's new orleans, my home casino, where I have consistently beat the 1/2 nl game, but haven't maintained a roll I was comfortable with (usually taking money out to pay bills).

My second preference would be staking for mtt's and some sitngo volume. My best track record of mtt's would be things like cake 10k ($50 buyin, ~200 runners) guarantees, and the weekly 100k ($150 buyin, ~800 runners).

I guess what I'd like to do more than anything would establish myself as a good stakee to 2+2 in general. I have friends in poker with the rolls to possibly stake me a few thousand now, but they are not super experienced in staking and would rather me prove myself here first. I can provide these players' names and 2+2 names for reference and vouching.

I would love to discuss my background poker history through pm or maybe even over the phone to anyone who would like to discuss arrangements. I won't ever be a beggar, and I hope my honesty and good name will become apparent.

Hello , my name is shmuly - my SN is thatsthegame on ftp , and im 30. Ive been playing poker online full time for roughly 4 years now - starting out with sngs my first couple of years and then focusing on MTT's / and multi table sngs the next couple of yrs . About one yr ago i went through some medical issues that made it near impossible to focus on poker . Needless to say i had to withdraw alot of my BR and found myself short when i got back into poker again .

While the occasional jump/shot at cash games never treated me to much more than breakeven in the past , i recently decided to test out the cap games due to my smaller BR and their similarity to tourney play (relative to deepstack cash) . I seemed to have a bit of a knack for the cap games . It took me a little while and i started doing pretty decent at 5/10 cap .My lifelong profit/100 is a tad over 2 and obv being that it took me a while to learn it properly i think its somwehrere closer to 3 now .

Unfortunately , after having such a rough time for months , the swings were a bit big for whats remaining of my bankroll . Im looking for some sort of stake (/and or mentoring) until i have a big enough roll where the swings are a non issue .

My game seems to be suited for 5/10 cap specifically right now and anytime i try to grind up from 2/4 cap etc i dont seem to do nearly as well as i do at 5/10 cap (as you can see on tableratings/HEM ) .

As ive mentioned my winrate overll in 5/10 cap is just above 2 bb/100 lifetime and i feel confident its closer to 3/3.5 as it took me many hands of breaking even at the cap games till i started to make the proper adjustments .

Id put in well over 50k hands a month , and obv discuss any concerns you may have .

If you have any interest , pls let me know .

looking for a SNG and MTT backer. LoL_FoReIGNS on Stars. SOmething small to start and we can go from there. Would really like to get my name established in this community. Have been coached by a few really high profile online players. Willing to go over hand historys and coaching would be nice as well. I've been playing for 2 years now and have had some success. Please PM me or Aim if you would like to talk more Thanks, Joe

I am looking for a low stakes HU PLO SNG backer.

Cashed out my whole roll (besides rakeback) 2 weeks ago in order to pay my university fees back to my parents. Currently having a lot of time for the next 3 weeks, so I am able to put in some volume.

I would like to start rebuilding my BR at the 6.25$ PLO HU SNGs on FTP. Would do a 50/50 deal incl. rakeback (27%).
