Shuttles are $6 and run every few minutes

From the airport? That seems marginally cheaper and no risk of getting sent for a ride... Plus I can be all touristy when we drive around.

It also takes considerably longer as the shuttles stop off at 10+ hotels and if your hotel is the last of those it is going to take you over an hour.

Not worth it imo, if you really going to nit it up. Take the bus, if not just get a cab and enjoy that extra time in Vegas.

Airport shuttles belong in multiple layers of hell.

If you're by yourself with no time constraints shuttle is the way to go

The shuttle has never taken me more than half an hour to downtown and nevermore than 15 minutes to mid strip. It has never been more than 2 stops to midstrip. Last time to Baley's it made one prior stop.

I like how this shuttle debate pops up every couple of months. Pretty simple: some people like them, some people hate them.

Figure out how much you're spending on your Vegas vacation. Airfare, hotel, food. Then figure out how many hours of quality time you're getting in Vegas during your vacation. Compute the hourly cost. Now, is it worth it to save $6 and spend an extra 30 minutes shuttling that you could spend at the poker tables?

"Bally's, please." Don't specify a route. If he asks you, then go with "Swenson to Harmon--no tunnel, no Interstate". If he doesn't ask you, enjoy the free ride if he tunnels you--simply don't pay him and he'll yell and scream and stomp away mad. If he doesn't ask you and doesn't tunnel you, tip him well--you got lucky and hit a hardway, finding one of the one in four cabbies that don't try to cheat you.

A few months ago I booked five nights in early October at the Imperial Palace (I know, I know...) on the Total Rewards website - so I could lock in a cheap rate but with the goal of changing it for something better if a reasonable offer came up.

I checked my Total Rewards offer list today and I have offers for Aug, Sept and November - but they seem to have totally skipped October. Is that because I have a reservation booked in that month so there is no reason to offer me any deals at their other hotels in that month?

yes. as soon as you book a hotel via total rewards, they remove other hotel offers. it's so people can't book 4 comped rooms at different properties and then sell them.

Thanks. If I cancel it, is an October offer for Ballys/Harrahs/etc likely to "appear" or should I just try calling TotalRewards to see if they can offer me a good rate at another hotel for the same dates.

Sorry if this is a basic question - I feel that if I know what to ask for, I have a better chance of getting it.

i was able to cancel a reservation and then book another one in the same month. the offer didn't re-appear immediately. i think i waited a day or two. server updates maybe. not sure.

i'm sure if you called and asked, they could cancel and re-book for you. the biggest downside is that once you book, you can no longer look at your offers to shop around for better rates.

Everybody seems to do the shuttle thing exactly once.

I have been to Vegas 4 times. Twice staying on strip and twice at the orleans. I always take a cab and have never specified a route or paid more than twenty with tip (prob less than twenty if I recall correctly) for cab fare - Am I just running good? It seems like this tunnel **** is blown out or proportion , or hell - maybe I was longhauled and just don't realize it

You guys are catching on. Actually when you mention "No Tunnel" it tells the cab driver you're a tourist and they take you via Arizona. They just make sure they skip the tunnel.

I am not really sure about e cigs specifically.... but there is a GREAT cigar/smoke shop right down on the next off ramp on Rainbow just as you get off the 215 freeway opposite side of the street from chase/best buy.

great top shelf selection.

Another option is Sin City Vapor. They seem to carry the Provari if you want to go top of the line.

Where is my best bet for Internet? Ballys charging 14$ a day isn't doing it for me.
