I always assumed these kind of stunts were a sort of reverse troll. For instance you're a billionaire and the 10k is meaningless to you, but you know it means a lot to someone else. So you give it to them just to watch them fail where someone else would succeed, to prove the person is a failure even when given every opportunity in the world.

Like I remember the Howard Stern show would donate 10k or something to a homeless man for lulz because they knew he'd blow it. Sure enough homeless dude buys an 8k drum set and keeps it in the alley where he sleeps, a 1k leather jacket, and blows the rest on hookers.

I started watching Trooper about a year or so ago and eventually found this board. I have never played poker (other than with family around the dining room table) but do loves me some blackjack (I even blog about it my casino adventures)

I look at this board as another way to expand my horizons as to what happens in the casino world and I do enjoy the blogs and banter.

IIRC the guy who wanted to give Trooper money said something to the effect of he was 86 years old or some older age and he gambles away way more money than that and he couldn't take it with him or didn't have anything better to spend it on or something like that. BTW, like most people in this thread, I still like Trooper and want him to succeed. I just really hate it when he acts scummy and lies. Because I imagine him to be a good guy, then when he clearly isn't, it causes cognitive dissonance.
