I've only seen the WSOP ones, and I thought they were cheerful and positive, which is hardly a bad thing.

Only seen one of JV's, but thought that was very good, and going to watch the rest of them when I can.

and he could have still had his vlog channel. He would have put out maybe 3 videos per week only but that would have been fine.

I’m subbed for now. But her vlog needs less platitudes and more actual poker content (which doesn’t necessarily mean hand histories).

Posting on forums is probably pretty scary for a lot of people. If you’re not as good as the average poster on the forum, you’re more likely to get some harsh criticism. For someone with a huge ego that will really be unpleasant. As a result, a person might think that it’s best to avoid negativity so they don’t post at all.

He used to put up less than half the number of videos he does now, and the videos were shorter and his effort was pretty much the same.

And all he plays is 1-2 NL. It doesn’t take much study to at least do a lot better than he does in that game.

As mostly an infrequent reader for several years, this is most definitely one of the harshest forums I've seen. However, that isn't surprising, given that it has the highest ratio of winning/smart players, I would imagine.

Some people that are too scared to post will still benefit from reading the posts so they just lurk. But if someone has a massive ego then reading posts from smarter players might be too unpleasant for them.

It’s not surprising to me that when I watch the vloggers that aren’t huge names in the poker world, the ones that are the most successful tend to be the most humble.

For some reason I thought this meant he was not winning which discouraged me from catching up on his Vlogs. I like seeing the vloggers winning.

It seems people have unrealistic expectations for Trooper. Like I don't understand what job you think Trooper would have had that would have put him in a good spot financially to buy a home. Dude was waiting tables at a chain restaurant in his 40s. His aspirations are very low. I'm pretty sure he's exceeding his dreams right now with his Go Gamble success.

All the while, he could have been playing poker recreationally to scratch his gambling itch.
I dont know much about Trooper's work history besides his limited time dealing and waiting tables, but some of us whom are at his age have had it with the corporate environment. In fact, I'd recommend to anyone coming out of college to spend as little amount of time in that environment and start their own company ASAP. But for those of us that didnt do that, our options are very limited.

Like I've said before, I really think Troopers lifestyle is really suited more to living in a RV full time. Hopefully he's still looking into that.

yeah I know these are just select hands, but wow. Good for him. I like how he shows the AA and QQ hands, but what about the other hands that he starts with lesser holdings. Like to see more of those hands that he might win or lose with.

So much I want to say about the latest DN Vlog....
Spoiler:
Did he just get pounded by the guy he outed as not knowing the games? Looks like the same guy to me. THAT must be embarrassing.

OK, but from all accounts he was a competent dealer. Why not do that? I understand why he wouldn't want to be a waiter but why not be a dealer? We admire the good ones. There's no shame in that and for many of the guys it's a good job.

He doesn’t want to work for the man. He wants to work for himself.

They definitely won't benefit from reading most of this thread, which is what I'm referring to, lol.

Only thing surprising to me, is how bent out of shape people get over someone they'll likely never meet

I think the term I use is that her vlogs are a bit too precious, with the piano music and shots of her looking wistfully into the distance with the Strip behind her. (Not saying it’s wrong to be sentimental — heck, I delve into my relationship with my wife in my just-released book on the Vegas/WSOP scene — but her vlogs are almost entirely devoid of poker.)

Also, I noticed she does something a lot of poker players and vloggers do, which is to focus on the wins and gloss over the losses. That’s pretty darn common though. Las Vegas Poker Player Vlogs

Hah, it's funny because it's completely true. I saw what must have been you leave this comment on the first episode on youtube "long winded platitudes and cliches" and vibes says "get this cancer out of here!" That comment definitely did not fit their PROFESSIONAL RISK TAKER RISK EVERY DAY POKER IS MY TRUTH echo chamber. She has thousands of subscribers because she was basically the face of pokernews for a decade.

There's no doubt she is a sweetheart / super nice / presumably great person, I just don't care to watch her mega sappy vlogs.

I was really hoping the intro vlog was just a tone/goal setter, and we’d get some poker content.

Unfortunately it’s looking more like a self-help book.

Trooper's current ROI after 85.25 hours and being down $440:

-14.7%

If Trooper had worked at a fast food joint and made $10/hr during this time, he'd be up $852.50 (pre-tax) and would have an ROI of 28.4%

Sorry to hear that Trooper isn't running above expectations. Haven't been watching his videos but I'm assuming if he finishes this thing in the negative or breakeven then he'll be less likely to step out of his normal grind 1/2 at crappy poker rooms routine.
