Hi at 1,500 units ($15K), the end goal of a BR at 2,000 units ($20K) at a VERY LOW win rate of 1 unit/100, the RoR is about 1-2%.
Now imagine you have 15,000 units, but still playing the same spread with $10 min. You have 0% ror.

I, for one, can't wait for the report on the next episode where, coincidentally, our hero breaks out the "cesspool" soliloquies from his idol.

Someone needs to review Maslow's hierarchy of needs, a five-stage model that shows the general progression of human pursuits.

That appears to be the benchmark the thread is assessing Rice.

First I am very much on the side that BigPoppa is telling the truth about being DieselÂ’s friend, and that so many in this thread (especially those spewing some pretty horrible things towards him) are really mentally unstable and have their own serious issues.

I also will agree that Diesel is genuinely happy with how things are going with poker— he gets to play a game he loves all day, live in Las Vegas, pay all of his bills (kind of), and stay in hotel rooms with maids most of the time. That’s pretty cool, especially for someone who has faced adversity in his 20s.

My main points of advice/hope for Diesel are:
  • He makes completely boneheaded financial decisions like paying NY state taxes, withdrawing his IRA early and paying taxes on it, jeopardizing his health by not getting on Obamacare or Medicaid when he easily qualifies
  • Not making any effort to increase his income when it would be so easy and greatly improve his QoL. Studying at all to improve his 1-3 winrate, taking shots at good 2-5 games, dealing part time (so happy about this!!), would make him so much more $$ and allow him more time off and an earlier retirement
  • While IÂ’m sure that he is quite proud of hotel room bathroom sausage, car hood canned salmon and cream cheese “hors d'oeuvre”, or the famous Vegas parking garage whole rotisserie chicken again on the hood of his car, Diesel eats the most disgusting food on camera and brags about it like he is some culinary mastermind. ItÂ’s so ridiculous and unhealthy and it invites criticism to do it on a vlog

I seriously doubt it.
Claims to have regular conversations with Rice?
Yeah, OK!

Rice is miserable playing poker, especially the last two years.
Rice's only happiness playing poker is being part of some great conversations at the poker table.

.
I have a few close, personal friends from these forums, and if any of them were getting piled on in a 2+2forum I might say something but would most likely have a convo with said friend and have a good laugh about it because at the end of the day it's a stranger's opinion. Said atranger would 100% do nothing to harm the person they're ralking about in real life.

But the lengths some new guy is going to, to not only protect every private interest of a "friend" to the point of being combative and going full war mode is not indicative of a normal person's behavior. It's just not normal.

Only reason I jumped in is because of the obvious insane nature of the sockpuppetry and tbh, I like a lot of you all ITT and would have a drink with many of you IRL, here in Vegas, and make a real bond.

I'm also of the belief of combating fire with fire, but what extinguishes the fire even faster is hitting people with facts. At the end of the day, they goto sleep alone and have to take it all in, even if their dismissive posting tactics dictate otherwise.

Cheers bois!

Lol Rice mentions just about every single person who he ever engages with in his shout outs.

But yeah you are his mysterious best friend who has never featured in any of his videos and who he has also jas never even mentioned or referenced in any way. And you've only now surfaced from the shadows off obscurity in the interest of defending his honor in this thread.

A best friend might write a single post in a thread in their defense and then leave, that's if they even knew about this thread in the first place.

But they wouldn't make it their full time job to reply so passionately and intensely to every single person in here who has ever said anything mean about the guy. The only person that would do that is the person being discussed in this thread, i.e Rice.

Exactly. Someone who he holds in such high regard, like Trooper, would never defend his honor. LOL

I like his vlog quite a bit. I watch most of his videos, and think he’s very creative with the fun and bizarre topics he comes up with. I don’t understand the hate he generates in this thread. He lives a life that is nothing like the one I do, or want. And that’s why it’s so interesting to watch him and listen to his offbeat ramblings. Anyone looking to him for wisdom or life advice would do well to look elsewhere, but he’s a fascinating and fun character. OK, I think I have fully established that I like his vlog and him.

With that out of the way, I think your posts here really are not helping. I suspect that there’s a 95 percent chance that you are the nomad, posing as his childhood friend. These details you keep revealing are the kinds of things regular childhood friends just don’t know or care to know about their buddies. If it truly is you, please stop with this ridiculous posts because they are subtracting from the enjoyment I get from your vlog. You’re coming across not as an odd duck who marches to the beat of his own drummer but the polar opposite—an insecure and thin-skinned snowflake who feels the need to concoct ludicrous facts and scenarios to defend yourself and to invent an entirely new persona to gin up some support for yourself and your work. Just stop posting here and let the haters hate. They’re a small group who are revealing their own smallness.

If that two-outer on the river has hit, however, and you truly are the childhood friend you claim to be then…please stop posting here for all the reasons outlined above. It’s undermining the very attribute of nomad’s vlog that most makes it so interesting: the sense that he’s authentically one of those demented genius crackpots that you seem only to find in poker. Is he actually just another brilliant ivy leaguer born with a silver spoon in his mouth who’s better and smarter and richer and more talented than any of us can possibly fathom? Yawn.

Either way, let’s just fold here and give the whole thing a rest.

the hate? people here find his vlog amusing, or think he's crazy, but I haven't read anything hateful

This is a fair comment. I probably should have been more careful in my word choice. There do seem to be some detractors but I agree that is not the same thing as hate.

The [likely] thing about Rice and so many others like him is that, sure, they may be enjoying their [version of] best life at the moment; but they are basically punting adult responsibility. At some point, Rice is going to have medical needs. At some point, he's not going to be able to support himself doing what he's doing. Then what? He'll likely get some base level government assistance at the costs of everyone else who has lived responsibly and paid into the system.

It would be nice to just say -- "to each his own" and "let people live their life" . . . But when the system blows up in xxxxx years because we have a generation that is entitled and lazy as f*ck, it's going to come to roost on the rest of us. END RANT.
