That hand was.. interesting for sure. IMO he should just fold 22 pre there when getting 3-bet, unless he is super deep with Villian.
The idea of betting turn is fine, but he is making it absurdly big for what he is trying to accomplish ($150 into $187). Personally I think $80 or so should be enough to fold out the hands that V has given up with, but that still have a fair bit of outs (Hero can be counterfeited).
And river call seems highly optimistic against someone who called 80% pot on turn and suddenly wakes up on river. While he
do unblock the obvious bluff-combos, this is only really relevant if you are facing an opponent who finds these bluffs.
This is an error that I have definitely made many times myself; coming up with reasons for a call, without properly taking into account that when opponent takes this line it's practically
never a bluff.
Sorry for the derail, hand histories gets me excited. Now back to discussing El Diesel and Trooper.
