Like said before i am not convinced at all that El Diesel have 100k saved up.

I would say the probability that a guy in his position and living his poor lifestyle really have 100k in the bank is like 5 percent. Maybe even less.

The most likely reason a person that lives a cheap/poorish lifestyle isnt because they have loads of money in their account-its simply because they doesent have money.

You could be big time wrong especially with regards to 32 year old El Diesel:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMcs...el=ReadAndGrow

This video kinda describes Coach El Diesel. Not 100% but he fits close to the profile. Remember, he is 32 with no dependents.

Sure,i could be wrong. El Diesel could in theory be one of those very few outliers. All i am saying is that its extremely unlikely.

I'm surprised we haven't got the same "he (El Diesel) must have made a ton of money on crypto" suspicions that almost every other vlogger gets after a few months of being watched here.

These posts guessing vloggers net worth remind me of those Instagram videos where the guy asks girls on college campuses what they think the average salary for an adult male is and they all have guesses in the "$250,000-3,000,000" range.

I just dont believe el diesel very much in what he says because of how things dont really line up, hes supposed to be this super grinder, plays less than 2k hours a year every year until this year, thats not that much, i know plenty of people who play just as much as him. Then hes got this huge BR for his stakes, but for some reason doesnt want to play 2-5 because of the swings, there really arent much bigger swings for 2-5, thats a ridiculous premise to me, its still live full ring poker, there isnt much variance at all and especially because there arent many super deep stack games 2-5 games. He doesnt want to play 2-5 because the people look like they arent having fun compared to 2-5, thats something ive literally never heard before, and ive been in casinos so i know it isnt true. His whole thing stinks to me. hes just a guy who is able to make minimum wage money playing poker who thinks he is the best and has to delude himself into thinking everything he does is the right thing for his ego. In reality hes just a goof and a loser and its all just cope for why he isnt more successful, you see this all the time in gambling and i know plenty like this. His investment strategy is fully ******ed, just investing in stocks that have a dividend, thats a great strategy bro, he definitely sounds like someone who knows more than alot of financial analysts like hes said before, hes like a 16 year old that discovered martingaling, really bright guy this el diesel. Im going to try to not comment on him anymore

There’s a lot more maniacs at 2/5 than 1/3 tho, he may not wanna deal with the stress lol

I can get away with a lot of things at 1/3, where at 2/5 the good players will pick that up quickly

I play up to 5/10, but at 1/3 to 2/5 there is a large disparity at the skill level

I think you left out the decimal point.

That should be .5%.

I would guess a small fraction of 1% of poker players exceed 2000 hours a year.
Some grinders (like pman) rarely exceed even 200 hours a year.

I've heard this is common amongst poker grinders.

I know a lot of players like this and I'm guilty of being similar to this. El diesel is a very risk averse personality type who somehow got caught up in the profession of poker. His mind has become acclimated to the swings and variance of 1/3 so the downswings of 2/5 are far too great of a negative than the positive feelings of an upswing there. He's satisfied with where he is in the grind and comfortable with what he's doing and what stakes he's grinding so he doesn't feel the ambition or motivation to move up stakes, which again is pretty common of a risk averse type personality.

The super risk adverse types with a dose of mental health issues will eventually sacrifice other aspects of their life to maintain their situation. Like uber drivers, who also drive lyft for 15 hours a day and live in their car who use the justification "it makes no sense to pay rent just to sleep somewhere when I'm always working". Or restaurant/fast food worker degens who "don't have to buy groceries because I can eat food at work" instead of up skilling and getting better jobs.

Since El Diesel is somewhat transparent in his numbers, he gives totals over stretches rather than session by session results, it'll be interesting to see if his style can outpace inflation.

What's going to happen in 5 years when there's $7+2 rake at 1/3, resort fees are $60, and a rotisserie chicken is $19.99 from Albertsons?
