What’s the take on X Pot? Worth it? Probably won’t change my mind about going there, but I’m curious.

It’s a great hot pot on the strip. If you want a traditional hotpot with markup you can have that, or you can have all the luxury ingredients you’d associate with a strip restaurant

Open late for strip, good atmosphere and much better drinks / quality of ingredients than you’d get at hot pot elsewhere

My palate doesn’t even come close to understanding hot pot, but the atmosphere is really cool and I think it qualifies as a cool vegas experience. There are certain places like bouchon, delmonico, bazaar meat that qualify under the great food great dining experience. Other places like x pot, Eiffel Tower, nobu, golden steer, Delilah’s, sw steakhouse, Hell’s Kitchen, etc that might have a weakness or two (mainly overpriced food), but is worth it when you consider it more of an experience.

Then there are a ton of Vegas restaurants that don’t qualify for either category, most of which fall in a category of sushi, celebrity chef, or Italian.

Been curious about Spago too. Want to go next time in Vegas as it’s been on the list for quite awhile but never had the chance.

I ate at Spago late last year and again in March. Even if you have a booking I think you need to show up early to get a view of the fountains.

Thought all the food was great. They had some lemon dessert which was "only" above average but that was the worst part of the meal. They also made my friend a pizza which wasn't on the menu.

As a total aside: a friend of a friend was a tourist from Israel who was an incredibly stereotypical tourist. He got up to go to the ledge to take pictures and walked to the other side of the balcony as well until a waiter asked him to be seated. Our waiter then came to apologize by offering two free desserts. So pro move: piss people off on the balcony for free desserts.

We did brunch at spago recently, service and view were notably great, food was very good, but it will be a long time till we go back. For some reason they had a dj playing the whole time and it really did not fit the mood of the whole room nor the clientele which skewed slightly older.

John Curtas skewered Lago as badly as he has a restaurant all year, so don’t go near Lago, and he had very little nice to say about Bellagio restaurants in general.

The prices are a little crazy, and the food is not original, but my wife and still rave about the two meals we’ve had at the Eiffel Tower in the last six months. If you are looking to impress your significant other with a fountain view, I don’t think you can do much better. Otherwise I would head to resorts world or Venetian which both have five or more restaurants I would recommend depending on preference.

Bluegrass I loved that lemon meringue dessert, but it also is really my type of not overly sweet non chocolate dessert.

We actually ended up cancelling Spago, because of Lago. I know doesn’t make too much sense, but we had booked both restaurants with the fountain view outside table and Lago was such a huge disappointment that we just cancelled Spago.

I know, it doesn’t make too much sense since they are different restaurants, but the food was so incredibly bad at Lago that we didn’t want to risk a $400 bill for the two of us.

Pictured is a seafood plate for almost $200, absolutely covered in thick black pepper. Entire dish was covered and tasted nothing but black pepper.

Sorry muck, that looks awful and the price is even worse. Please go to bouchon, it’s the best brunch in town but also one of the best bargains for dinner.

Ty Bluegrass and Muck…much appreciated!

Also, those photos made me add Jean Georges to the list. Always just walked right past in Aria and never thought much of it, but the pics look fantastic.

Very good dinner last night at La Strega - the crudo platter and the squid ink bucatini were outstanding. We ordered the lamb and ricotta pasta, which was good enough, but given how good the rest of the seafood was, I wish we had gone vongole. I can walk there so guess I'll just do that next time. Service was ok but a few misses, and we were seated 845 after checking in at 8 for 815 rez. They did bring us sparkling wine since it was for our anniversary.

Trying to think waaay out in advance here.

I'm somewhat in charge of planning a bachelor party for 2nd weekend of March Madness next year.

I'm looking for a place that would fit the following qualifications:

1. Nicer than casual, but probably going more towards steakhouse or fun vibe rather than fancy

2. Private room for 15 of us so we don't have to worry about noise level, and would have a TV so people watching basketball don't have to give up watching the game

3. On the strip

Aside from noise level that screams STK.

Yeah and they have a great private room for that size. Not sure on AV in the room. But sounds like an excuse for a weekend in LV to check all the steakhouses…

Has anyone been to Kabuto recently? Last two trips we couldn’t book weeks/months in advance. Now there is a chance I’m flying out with a friend in a few weeks and we would like to go, how long are booking times?

Boski posted his X Pot dish scores on IG stories last night. Wasn't good. He also doesn't like Korean BBQ so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m with him, Korean bbq is trash food, fun environment normally though.
