I ate at the bar and had lobster Mac for 60 bucks, pierogi for 20, and a really great tiny cheesesteak slider for 15. If I had 6 cheesesteaks I think I would have left happy. I’m a big believer in asking staff for recommendations, lobster Mac was in an incredibly sweet sauce that I needed to salt and pepper to death to make it somewhat palatable, pierogi made me think I will wait another ten years to have another one. Super friendly bartenders.

Really hoping to find another yardbird like place on the strip to bring my wife for date night. Most of our go to strip restaurants are now super expensive.
Try the fried chicken with mashed potato at Bavette’s if you haven’t had it. $38 or something and more than enough to share. Add a side of bacon (which might be the best on the planet) and you are golden.

If you’re in downtown Henderson / Water Street the restaurants at the Emerald Island and Rainbow have some pretty solid diner food at great prices. I like that area a lot of new development, the Pass is building a hotel and I would totally consider staying there a day or two on an extended trip. The video poker options are some of the best in town and with the generous slot clubs food is basically nothing. Need to try the $24 filet mignon with shrimp cocktail and lobster tail and sides included.

Dining in Downtown Henderson is small town ambience and very basic menus, but at very low prices .... not worth a drive from the Strip, but a nice occasional drive over from say Green Valley for a taste of the early 1970s nostalgia .... and plenty of parking and access.

Henderson and Boulder City will never be confused with the Strip, but have their own appeal. Have been coming there for about 30 years or so, like the town. Very different than Summerlein, in a good way.

It’s the best. The bacon and mashed potato are probably the best I’ve had anywhere.

La Popular was solid, new Mexican spot at the Palms. The black colored salsa is made with soy sauce, sesame oil, and orange juice. Super unique and delicious, can get a bottle to go too. Chips and salsa 8.5/10. Queso fundido 9/10. Pastor tacos 8.5/10. Shrimp tacos 6.5/10. Pretty damn cheap for a strip restaurant too, good value.

Damn that looks great and I'm thrilled to see it. Gonna have to check it out. One of the Palms's problems is that its F&B price point and value proposition isn't compelling enough to stop its guests from getting into an uber and going to the strip. This is a really good decision by the folks at San Manuel.

Mordechai is a friend of mine, I know Danny from counts customs steve from weldurup and Mike from exotic paints works.
Yeah the Western/Highland corridor is rough. Even the neighborhood just south of Rancho Bonito (abutting Rancho on the west, but with access from Sahara instead of from Oakey) has real issues because of the Sahara access. But Rancho Bonito (access from Oakey only) is great (Pat Morita lived there before he passed, I lived there for 6 years and sold my home to the emcee from absinthe), McNeil is one of my fav neighborhoods in the city with some amazing lots and beautiful modern ranch homes, and Scotch 80s has some absolutely incredible mansion/estate type homes (this is where the Goodmans live and has a ton of mob history). Glen Heather is a bit more blue collar, but it's safe and established. If you want older homes and a friendly neighborhood with good folks that isn't guard gated, this is an amazing area. We only left to try to get into a good public school... and then we ended up back in private anyway. But we have a great deal on a rental and we aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

I hope my review wasn't a miss. We sat in the very back and it didn't give me that kind of vibe. I only remember the bar being in the front right and it looked fairly small.

I thought the sliders were just ok as was the lobster mac. That being said, we did get 6 sliders and I'm fairly sure they didn't cost $90. I much preferred the crab cake corndogs and as I said the steak was well executed.

I could see how it's a date night vibe, but some of the portions looked big for two people (and I definitely would not have ordered the lobster mac just for myself).

No way, I’m at Caesar’s enough that it was only a matter of time before I tried it. Think I was lucky to just eat at the bar and not blow a day night with my wife.

What are some places to get a juice or smoothie at night?

Tropical Smoothie Cafe doesn't count, as it seems like they just use a bunch of powders and stuff. I want to drink smooshed fruit and veggies.

What time at night? It's not really my thing, but the Cosmo juice standard is decent. I don't think it's open late, though.

There are other Juice Standard outlets I believe, Pressed is another juice (perhaps smoothies too) place around town. I doubt any of them are open past 9-10 though.

You are right about Juice Standard. However, it looks like all of the others close by 4pm whereas the Cosmo location closes at 7pm. Also, the Cosmo location is the only one located remotely near the strip (not sure if that matters, either).

There used to be a Jamba Juice in Fashion Show Mall which was an easy stroll from the Venetian poker room. Don't know if it survives

Went solo to Toca Madera last night and got the chorizo huarache. Was expecting an appetizer. Instead they gave me this massive portion that’s enough to feed a village. Place is great.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I'm surprised nobody wants to corner the market on juice after 7. But maybe I am the market, which would make it a good decision.
